Do You Doubt Yourself?

March 14, 2022

A mastermind team did an exercise that included prioritizing personal and professional goals, identifying obstacles, followed by strategies to overcome each one. If there was a roadblock, what could they do about it?

Procrastination was a big obstacle. Many delays were due to questioning themselves.

** Are they capable?
** Are they good enough?
** Are they doing the right thing?

Avoidance happened when their goals involved new activity and knowledge that differed from how they’d done things in the past. They were growing their businesses in new ways, which meant doing things they’d never done before. The same was true for doing different things in their personal lives.

Venturing into an arena unknown to them brought on self-doubt, which immobilized them from moving forward.

When going outside the known and our comfort zone, when choosing to take ourselves to another level, it’s likely new tools and skills will be needed. This has nothing to do with not being good enough or a reason to be afraid of rejection!

Once we get over our “yes, buts,” “you don’t understand,” “I was told this is the way it is (or I am),” “there’s nothing that can be done” and countless other reasons we try to legitimize why we do things the way we’ve always done, new solutions can appear.

The answers to get you through any challenges live within you.

You’ll get pointed in a direction, a direct insight will come, you’ll overhear something by chance… or somehow your personal, internal GPS will show you the way.

Pay attention to your inner nudges. They provide clues.

Be open to step back and see things in a new perspective. The seemingly impossible may actually be possible with a different approach.

Niels Bohr, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922, wrote:

“Every great and deep difficulty bears in itself its own solution. It forces us to change our thinking in order to find it.”

Bohr, who contributed to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory, tapped into his creativity to use outside-the-box-thinking, which allowed him to be part of breakthrough discoveries.

Expand your territory. Change your perspective. Open to breakthroughs.

You are more powerful than you think you are.

Believe in yourself… just a little bit more!

Do This ONE Thing for a Great Year

January 3, 2022
What do you choose to be? How do you choose to feel? It’s a decision.

The BEST New Year’s resolution is to resolve to feel good. With this decision all things or something better are possible.

It really is a choice.

You have complete control over your perspective, regardless of the situation. Your interpretation of events, your life, your success or manifesting your dreams is your key to the door of happiness, misery or getting what you most want.

Your energy will draw to you more of how you feel.

How in the world can you feel good in spite of the odds?
Be grateful for what you DO have.

A client gifted me a handmade journal with an embroidered peacock on the cover that she bought in one of my favorite museums. It’s so beautiful that I decided I only wanted beautiful words in it. Another client on her team suggested a journaling exercise that makes her feel good.

Write what’s working in your life.

Soon after, on a day when everything was uncharacteristically out-of-synch, I couldn’t leave town to go to my own birthday party!  Instead of having a hissy fit, I grabbed my new journal and wrote on the entire first page the many things that are going well.

Focusing on gratitude shifted my energy, allowed me to let go of the stress and be in present time. Of course, the change in plans turned out to be way better.

HAPPY New Year to you.

Hint: the clue is in the greeting.

The first word is HAPPY.

The BEST New Year’s resolution is to feel good and be happy.

You can use feeling good as your inner GPS to know if you’re on the right track or not.

It may be that the only thing needed for you to be happy is an attitude adjustment. Also, how you feel can be an indicator that you’re on the right path or heading in a direction that no longer serves you or maybe never did.

HUGE TIP: If you decide a change is needed, feel good about where you are, even if you don’t like it. Then line up your energy by feeling good about your new direction and take actions for something better.

Happy New Year! It’s your choice to parrot the words or make them come true for you!

May you enjoy your happiest year ever!

3 Quotes to EASILY Set Your Resolutions

December 26, 2021

It’s that time when people make resolutions for the new year… most of which they won’t keep.

But you can make ones that you CAN fulfill.

How? Let’s keep it simple AND effective.

You’ll have greater success if you focus on doing what you LOVE instead of making resolutions to please others, those you think you have to do or should do. This includes earning money because you need to instead of receiving money for doing what you love. (Yes, YOU CAN DO BOTH!)

When you’re ruminating about what you’d like your resolutions and life to be, may these words of wisdom guide you… and be sure to include fun and doing what you love.

“If you do follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”

“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.”
― Joseph Campbell

(my underline)

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”
― Dale Carnegie

“If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased.”
― Katharine Hepburn

May you enjoy a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Short Read: Overwhelmed?

November 15, 2021

Short because I know you’re too overwhelmed to read anything long

Focus brings power with it. If you clear away the thing that’s keeping you from your goal, you can then move directly toward the goal. If your mind is concerned with only one thing instead of two – especially if the two conflict! – you’ll get a lot more mileage out of its use.”

Sterling W. Sill, The International Journal of Success

How can you get control of your life? While you’re thinking, let me share a client’s story.

“The thought What am I going to do today? made me dizzy while I was flat in my bed. At that point I knew I had to stay home and not do anything except take care of myself, prioritize, and discover what makes me happy. I realized I wasn’t helping anybody because I needed to help myself. One by one I backed off from activities where I could be replaced and started to focus on what is important to me.”

There are so many demands on our time – family, work, responsibilities, friends, personal care, problem solving and more – that we can get overwhelmed.

Who’s got time to focus on what’s most important to us and our dreams? But then, if we don’t tend to these, we’ll stay where we are. So much to deal with. It can be confusing and exhausting.

Have you seen the apparatus on some sci-fi shows that scatters someone’s image into a dozen different places so the real person can’t be found? That’s what our lives are like when we allow ourselves to overextend into too many activities. We lose ourselves.

Of course, this offers us a great excuse, too, as it’s much easier to jump from one activity to another, adopt a non-productive feeling of being overwhelmed so we can’t think straight, or change from one goal or project to another, than to see them to completion without feeling frazzled.

“In soloing, as in other activities, it is far easier to start something than it is to finish it.”

Amelia Earhart

How can you get control of your life?

  • Get clear on what you want
  • Focus on this as a priority
  • Decide you’re going to skip feeling overwhelmed
  • Enjoy the process
  • Take action.

Oh, you may as well have fun while doing this! It makes life so much easier

A Very Short Story About My Cat NOT Settling for Crumbs

September 20, 2021

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. “Which road do I take?” she asked. His response was a question: “Where do you want to go?” “I don’t know,” Alice answered. “Then,” said the cat “it doesn’t matter.”

LEWIS CARROLL, Alice in Wonderland

My cat charged into the house after being outside for hours. There were a couple of teaspoons of broken, dry food left in her dish, but she didn’t approach it. Instead, she regally stood a couple of steps away facing the bowl.

I knew she was hungry, but she didn’t act desperate or whiny. Actually, she didn’t even give an indication she was interested in food.

I told her, “Just eat the little bit that’s left, and I’ll fill your bowl.” I waited.

She remained poised and motionless, like a royal guard in front of Buckingham Palace.

I needed to put more food in the bowl anyway, so I did.  She devoured it.

My cat Micha consistently teaches me non-verbal lessons about living life more powerfully.

To get the point she’s making requires my observing her attitude and approach rather than being arrogant and treating her like she’s “only a cat.”

For example, she doesn’t settle for crumbs, doesn’t eat the few, measly bits that are stale from sitting out too long. She carries an attitude of anticipation that her needs are met, and they are.

When we expect a particular outcome, we may set ourselves up for disappointment if the results aren’t what we imagined.

When we anticipate and believe that life works in our favor, the universe accommodates our intention. We can feel gratitude and appreciation, looking for the blessing rather than focusing on dissatisfaction.

Are you settling for crumbs in some area of your life? You don’t have to.

Tired of Same Ole? Supercharge Your Life!

November 4, 2019

woman joy

A few months ago, my client agreed to incorporate Oola essential oils in her session… that’s short for Oo la la.

Oola was inspired by two chiropractors, now known as the Oola guys. Once college buddies, one overcame challenges with the help of the other by balancing 7 key areas of life.

The 7 Oola essential oil blends were formulated by the late Gary D. Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils.

Little did I realize the magical experiences that would follow.

First, a little background.

What is Oola?

From the Oolalife website…

“We are on this planet to help you FIND BALANCE and live a life of less stress and greater purpose – the OOLALIFE.”

Oo´• la \ n. adj. \ 1 a : a state of awesomeness b : a life that is balanced and growing in the key areas of health, finances, career, relationships, and well-being c : a destination (i.e., getting to Oola) 2 a : describing actions, insights and goals that lead to a balanced life (ex: That’s so Oola.) 3 a : the ultimate plan for achieving balance in an unbalanced world.

Oolalife is based on their international, bestselling book, Oola: Find Balance in an Unbalanced World.

“The Oola Lifestyle has become a literal phenomenon—a dynamic movement… [the Oola guys] travel the world collecting dreams and helping people find balance and growth in the 7 key areas of life (the 7 F’s of Oola) – Fitness, Finance, Family, Field (career), Faith, Friends, and Fun. By revealing how to remove the stress related to a life out-of-balance, they unlock the greatness that is inside all of us.”

What happened when we used my Oola protocol?

It occurred to me that there are 7 oils. We have 7 chakras (energy centers in our bodies)… and a protocol emerged to consciously apply the oils with intention along with my coaching.

After experiencing the protocol, which includes clarifying goals and dreams, everyone saw themselves differently.

They awakened to their inner spirit. Some had visions. Confidence reignited. They felt naturally happy, even joyous.

They described spontaneous, inner scenarios playing out in their thoughts where they were directing/ living/ getting assistance with their ideal lives.

Each one experienced something unique, which could be described in Oolalife terms as awesomeness.

Change the way we feel, and we attract amazing experiences. The Law of Attraction in demonstration.

I’ve implemented this protocol several times, and every time people felt a natural yet significant inner shift followed by a positive change that manifested dynamic, new opportunities and miracles.

What if we added masterminding to amplify this experience even more?

When two or more gather together in harmony, there’s an energy created, which we call mastermind energy. The mastermind energy can and does manifest goals we choose or something better. Imagine supercharging Oola-inspired goals and dreams even more!

What happened when I connected the dots?

Open and align energy centers + Oola essential oils  + Goal setting for 2020 + Masterminding + Coaching =
The Oola Goal Experience!

You and Your Friends are Invited

My clients have been hearing me talk about our Oola experience, and many got on board when they learned they could tap into this, too. Everyone who already experienced it and could fit it into their schedules have registered for it again.

Following her experience, a client emailed me this: “Thank you! I always love spending time with you but yesterday was over the top!.. I appreciate you and all you do for me and with me.” Not long after, an unanticipated, life-changing, huge opportunity presented itself, which she’s now pursuing. Life purpose to the nth degree!
So far, we have TWO Oola Goal Experiences scheduled.

The groups are small, so space is limited.

Saturday, November 16, 1-6 PM in Wimberley, TX.
Wednesday, November 20, 1-6 PM in Wimberley, TX.
Registration for the afternoon is $250.

Interested? Contact me, and we’ll discuss your questions or registration for the Oola Goal Experience! Consider bringing a friend, too!

virginia@soulgoals.com
As not everyone can make these dates, other Experiences may be scheduled in the future. If this might be for you, let me know and suggest times that could work.

I’d love to help you clarify and supercharge your goals! You deserve it!

Congrats to Carol Warkoczewski and How She Won the Luna Award!

August 27, 2019
Carol Warkoczewski speaking after receiving her Luna Award

The Luna Awards celebrate the achievements of women-owned businesses and advocates who promote and develop women at all levels in Architecture, Engineering and Construction.

The category of Outstanding Professional of the Year had eight nominees… and our Carol Warkoczewski won!

Nominees for the Luna Awards from San Antonio were recognized at the prestigious Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on August 23, 2019, with onstage congratulations offered by three councilwomen and an inspiring talk by the mayor’s wife, Erika Prosper.

Who is Carol Warkoczewski?

For those who may not be familiar with her, Carol is a Senior Architect for the City of San Antonio as well as the founder, Chief Vision Officer and board chair of I-LinCP, the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects.

Carol has received “Professional Recognition” in San Antonio Business Journal’s “People on the Move.”  Among other noteworthy mentions, she is a popular speaker, including appearances on the national stage of the American Institute of Architects’ conventions.

Why Carol Won

First, Carol deserves it! She exemplifies servant leadership, and people recognize her accomplishments and service.

She told me, “I was really happy to be nominated. They emphasized that being nominated for this award is because someone believes in you and that you exemplify that category. When I won, cheers went up, and a lot of people were supporting me – even though I didn’t know them.”

She felt happy and proud when a contractor in attendance told her, “I have a nine year old daughter, and it’s women like you who are examples for her.”

She added, “He said from his heart, ‘You absolutely deserve this. I’m so happy for you.'”

Why She Didn’t Panic When Time Seemed Against Her

“When I got the email that I had been nominated, I had to put together a packet for the application. At the same time, I was organizing a conference, and the due date for the application was Friday, the last day of the conference.

I didn’t panic; I thought I’d get it done.

“I had the faith and clarity that all is in divine order and timing and not to worry. It’s all going to be fine, and don’t panic.”

“Then the Luna committee pushed the deadline to Sunday, so I had the weekend to review the packet and have others review it for me, too.

Why Winning the Award Wasn’t a Surprise

I thought, “It would not surprise me if I won.”

During the time that Carol’s been coaching with me, since January 2000, she’s learned numerous manifesting techniques (that is, how to clarify what you want and attain it), which includes principles, perspectives, tools and how to use one’s imagination and visualize.

“I saw myself on stage. I just felt I was going to win.”

Additionally, she implemented, with a partner, an ancient method called masterminding.

In masterminding, a word coined by Napoleon Hill, author of the classic book Think and Grow Rich, an energy is created when two or more gather in harmony for a specific purpose. This mastermind energy can and does manifest goals, often beyond our wildest imagination.

In fact, Carol developed the idea for I-LinCP, which now has grown to four chapters in Texas, during the time she was on a mastermind team in 2009.

When we received a text a few hours after Carol’s win, her partner replied, “Just like we masterminded!!! Knew it! Awesome. And so be it!”

Carol will join other awardees at the 13th Annual Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RCHA)’s Women in Architecture, Engineering & Construction Business Conference & Luna Awards Luncheon in Dallas/Fort Worth on Thursday, October 31, 2019, where the winners have been given a night’s stay at the Omni Hotel.

The Cheshire Cat on Your Direction

April 23, 2019

May the Cheshire Cat inspire you to find clear direction.

How can you pick a direction if you don’t know where you’re going? This is Alice’s dilemma in Alice in Wonderland.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cheshire Cat.

“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.

“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.

“–so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation.

“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”

Would you rather go anywhere or somewhere?

Anywhere might be the same or worse than where you are now. That is, unless you have an idea of where you want to go. Then you’d be somewhere not just anywhere. And that somewhere would be of your choosing.

Although some may tell you to go to a fiery destination, nobody knows where you ought to go but you.

So, the first step is clarity.

KEY:  Your inner GPS, the quiet voice within, knows and shows you your best place to shine.

Life is a dance. If you listen to the voice within, you’ll be directed to the best “dance class” to get your shine on. You don’t have to know the steps in advance as you’ll be taught along the way. Life works with intention and is a great dance teacher.

Your job is to name your dance.

A client who experienced personal devastation is continuing to find happiness while creating a new life.

How? By taking quiet time every morning to visualize. Imagine how you’d like your day to go.

Results? Whatever was pictured in the morning happened during the day! The cumulative effect over time created a magnificent home, fulfilling work, more money than ever, a lifelong partner, exercise program, plus peace of mind.

Focus on where you want to get to.

Direct your attention, as the Cat said, to “where you want to get to” and stop mulling over your confusion or all the annoying things that you don’t want in your life.

Change the channel from your inner noise to your breathing – in and out. As your thoughts quiet and you’re feeling more neutral, ask for clarity about direction and the best steps for you to take.

Not clear yet? There’s your ego, that can be clueless, and your wise self (your Essence), that already has your answers.

Begin by asking for wisdom to take center stage.

Then, see yourself living your ideal day. Feel yourself living the life you’d love to live. Imagine that it’s not only possible. What’s coming next may seem delusional until you see that it works… act as if it’s already happening now.

Later, observe how your day and life mirror your intentions… and be amazed at how it matches what you thought about at the beginning of your day.

Don’t worry if you’re not perfect at it when you begin because you may be slipping in and out of negative thinking of what you don’t want. Practice.

Life can be a controllable thing. It starts with knowing your direction!

Life or Biz Up and Down? Waiting for a Change? Plus Quotes by ECKHART TOLLE

March 25, 2019

A woman’s business had been in desperate straits for several months. Immediately after coaching with me, her phone rang with new clients, deals closed in avalanches of abundance and her sales far surpassed her goal of $1 million a month.

However, in the subsequent month, her active deals dropped again to zero. This was an old pattern of hers – the roller coaster of feast or famine – and it always led to her feeling exhausted.

When I asked about clients in her pipeline, she described how she was frustrated by waiting for them to complete their preparation before they could actively move forward.

Her focus was on waiting to see what they were going to do. Emotionally, the waiting weighed heavily on her. As she had difficulty thinking of anything else, she felt dispirited and immobilized.

Why, when she was doing so well, was this happening… again?

Just like infection-fighting, white blood cells attack germs that have gotten into a wound, your spirit comes to your aid by highlighting germ-like, limiting beliefs you harbor.

How? By surfacing your issues, you have an opportunity to see them more clearly or repeat the typical way you respond. When you see them, you can release patterns that don’t serve you and do things differently.

We frequently are staunch defenders of why we must believe the way we do and stubbornly hold on to the way we look at things. This is why the same limiting circumstances recur repeatedly.

Her inner spirit, once again, revealed the domino effect of her self-sabotage:

  • She was waiting for something outside herself to dictate her focus, and it froze her into inaction.
  • Her thoughts made her feel bad.
  • Thinking about it from this perspective exhausted her.
  • She felt so deflated that she wasn’t inspired to do anything else.
  • Then she attracted little business, which matched her deflated feelings.

A more powerful approach was to do everything she could to help her current deals. We talked about new strategies she could implement. Then move on. It’s called NEXT!

She let go of waiting and replaced it with a new action plan. By the end of her session, she felt lighter and energized to move forward.

Here’s how she changed to activate a more empowering domino effect:

  • Her old habit, mentally and physically, was to wait for things to fall into place the way she thought they should before taking action.
  • This time, she realized she’d do what she could now, and let the rest unfold in divine right timing.
  • This opened up mental space to let go of her fixation and instead redirect her focus to other activities.
  • The heaviness she usually felt shifted to the excitement of possibilities.
  • She became inspired with ideas to take effective action.
  • Having created a more powerful, energetic center of influence, she magnetized herself to attract more and better business.

Here’s what Eckhart Tolle says about waiting:

“You don’t have to wait for something ‘meaningful’ to come into your life so that you can finally enjoy what you do. There is more meaning in joy than you will ever need. The ‘waiting to start living’ syndrome is one of the most common delusions of the unconscious state.”

“Don’t wait to be successful at some future point; have a successful relationship with the present moment and be fully present in whatever you are doing. That is success.”

“Give up waiting as a state of mind. When you catch yourself slipping into waiting…snap out of it. Come into the present moment. Just be and enjoy being.”

“Waiting is a state of mind that says we want what we don’t have. Therefore, with every kind of waiting we produce an inner conflict between now and the projected future. This greatly reduces the quality of our life. Are you a ‘habitual waiter’?”

Are you a habitual waiter? If so, you can change, instead of waiting for change, by making new choices!
