Has This Kept You Up at Night?

May 9, 2017

Awake at night

Have any of these kept you up at night?

Procrastination. Fear of making a (wrong) decision or making a mistake. Trying to figure out what you’re going to do. Indecisive. Avoid people or dealing with things. Have trouble marketing yourself or asking for the sale. Averse to taking risks. Don’t stand up for yourself. Afraid to speak up. Let others control you. Need to fit in. Turn into a chameleon to blend in with others. Let people run over you. Have a hard time being yourself (whoever that is). Wonder what people will say or think. Say yes when you want to say no.

What bogeyman lies beneath this thinking? Personal honesty reveals a deeper insight beyond blaming circumstances.

During multiple mastermind group meetings, I noticed a theme that held people back until they got wise to a game the ego was playing.

It reminds me of a scene from the 1986 comedy The Money Pit with Tom Hanks (who played Walter) and Shelly Long.

Rock star, 12-year-old Benny lounged in his mansion smoking a cigarette while chics waited for him in the Jacuzzi. His help feared him, and his mother wore a maid’s uniform while waiting on him hand and foot.

His temper tantrum, when he refused to loan Walter money, revealed a spoiled, insecure, little boy.

Walter: There is a house I want to buy.

Benny: Let’s cut to the chase, okay? What do you want?

Walter: I want you to loan me $200,000 in cash.

Benny: No.

Walter[raising his voice] Benny.

Benny: You shout at me?

Walter: I shout at you! I need that money, and you are going to loan it to me.

Benny: No, I won’t!

Walter: Yes, you will!

Benny: No, no, no!

Walter: Yes, you will! I saved you ten times that in taxes last year.

Benny: So what?

Walter: Benny, if you don’t loan me that money. I’ll…

Benny: You’ll what? Huh? You’ll what?

Walter: I’ll…not like you anymore! [Long pause and subdued.]

Benny: …All right.

Walter: Thanks.

Here’s the funny clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LY5dV3xghY

A leading cause of fear is wanting approval, so people limit themselves by worrying about what others will think.

A client procrastinated making a big decision. During a session, she realized she was afraid of her family’s disapproval if she didn’t get it right… again.

When the light turned on for her, she was able to research her options. She got clarity, aligned her energy with her decision by feeling good about her choice, and then took action.

Even if she made another unwanted mistake, she knew she could choose again.

She chose wisely. Since then, her business is at the highest it’s been in years.

Several clients realized that they were so intent on being nice to others that they weren’t nice to themselves.

Resolved for Results Mastermind Principle #3 provided guidance:

“I trust my Self and listen to the voice within.”

This served as a valuable GPS instead of the need to people please.

Nobody can please everybody.

There will always be those who won’t like you or what you do. How much simpler life is to accept that instead of resisting it.

Don’t let fear of disapproval hold you down. Keep moving forward anyway with good intentions.

You have no control over what others think, but you can tune in to your Self and take charge of what you think about you.

Listening to your Self is part of your innate intelligence, so you can do this.

How? Choose to redirect your focus to hear You. With practice, your ability improves.

A key is to love and accept yourself just the way you are.

You’ll sleep better at night, too.

With gratitude,
Virginia

Be Careful What You Ask For – Here’s What Happened to This Woman

March 27, 2017

Three months prior, a woman set intentions. However, she didn’t realize at the time how her casual thoughts and wishes would actually turn into things. Specific things.

One day, she woke up thinking about doing karaoke, singing at weddings or with a band a couple of times a month. After that, she let the thought go and didn’t think about it.

A couple of days later, she complained about how she doesn’t get what she asks for.

Then she mused, “All I want is a date so I know I’ve still got it.”

She also thought about her neighbors and wondered why they put an odd-shaped, kiddie pool on their sloped yard.

Two to three days after that, three guys, who she wasn’t interested in, asked her out.

She told me that she needed to be more specific while setting intentions.

The good news is that mutual friends introduced her to a band, and she became their lead singer.

She enjoyed learning the ropes of being on stage and liked her band members. Being with them opened doors.

“Everything we think sets an intention, whether we know it or not.”

She also noted, “God has a sense of humor.”

The neighbor’s kiddie pool flew  from their yard over the fence into her yard.

She pondered: “God brought it to me, so it’s mine.” Instead, she decided to give it back to her neighbors. She has a sense of humor, too.

As they say, from your lips to God’s ears.

What are you asking for – intentionally or not?

P.S. Know others who could use help in setting clear intentions that bring results? Please share this post.

This Abba Song Can Change Your Future

February 20, 2017

fantasy-angel

You weren’t meant to do this trip, multiple orbits of 365 days around the sun, alone.

To start your journey, a Supreme Being didn’t say, “Check it out, and tell me about it when you get back.”

There is support beyond what your physical eyes can see now.

You may wonder why I’m writing about this and how it’s relevant to your business/work and life.

Several people I talked with this week had challenges. Some nearly unbearable.

Can you relate? I know how tough that can feel because I’ve been there, too.

Like them, whatever’s currently going on in your life or business/work is a consequence of your old thoughts and feelings.

How could you possibly have set up something unpleasant for yourself?

No, I’m not trying to throw salt on a wound. The idea is for you to understand how you created the good, the bad and the ugly in your life so you can transform your future.

Intentionally or unconsciously, your energy attracts similar energy. For example, if you felt frustrated in the past, you will continue to attract frustrating situations. This would bring you to your current and potentially future frustration.

Now is your big moment because you can change the direction you’re heading.

Observe how you typically react. Do you emotionally respond the same way but find that you’re gong nowhere fast?

Your responses and subsequent results are like you running on a hamster wheel – repeating the same emotional patterns such as despair, frustration, depression, helplessness, confusion, anger, worry, lack or joy, peace, self-confidence, abundance and courage.

You can continue to react the same way you’ve always done.

OR you can find a way to stop going in circles by responding to life in more constructive ways. Where there’s “something good in everything” you see.

So what’s this got to do with Abba?

Last week, I wrote “The Best Place To Find Love” and shared my experience of helping a senior citizen get home. Because I took the time to do this, I thought I forfeited a front row seat at a concert. However, in spite of the room being halfway full, my prime seat was waiting for me.

What I didn’t tell you is that a song was running through my head so much that, after I dropped him off at his house, I played it on YouTube while driving.

It was Abba’s “I Have A Dream,” and by focusing on the words and concepts, my future changed and so can yours.

If you see the wonder of a magical fairy tale, then your power of imagination can take the future. It doesn’t matter if you’ve failed or not. Your past and present circumstances don’t matter.

Your dream, although it can seem like a fantasy, will not only help you cope with anything and help you through reality, it will help you push through the darkness.

When you focus on your dreams, the destination you envisioned becomes your reality and will make your efforts worth the while.

Your vision will help you cross over any obstacle.

There are angels to help you along the way. Some have a physical presence. Most are unseen energies rooting for you, having your back, playing the role of master organizers so your dreams can come true.

“I believe in angels,” and I strongly felt that a front row seat was saved for me.

And when my intention was to increase my income to satisfy specific goals, new business came out of the blue.

These ideas can change your future.

You’re not alone.

Allow yourself to have a dream and let it push you through… anything.

Believe in yourself and your dreams.

The time is right for you.

The destination is worth your while.

Below are the lyrics and link to Abba’s “I Have A Dream.”

I Have A Dream by Abba

I have a dream, a song to sing

To help me cope with anything

If you see the wonder of a fairy tale

You can take the future even if you fail

I believe in angels

Something good in everything I see

I believe in angels

When I know the time is right for me

I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy

To help me through reality

And my destination makes it worth the while

Pushing through the darkness still another mile

I believe in angels

Something good in everything I see

I believe in angels

When I know the time is right for me

I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream

Your New Year’s Challenge

January 2, 2017
brightbluesky

In August 1989, I attended a talk by top motivational speaker and self-development author Brian Tracy.

He suggested we write 25 goals daily for one month.

After a few days, I stopped writing “speak fluent French” as I realized I didn’t care that much about improving my high school language skills.

Simultaneously, I listened to business conference calls several times a week. My company was having a grand opening in Malaysia the following month, and people were going there to open the market.

I had to look at a map to find the country… it’s halfway around the world from where I live.

Then I got the idea to include “go to Malaysia” on my daily list of 25.

That was a pretty far fetched consideration as my financial coffers were low, but I got a nudge to write it down.

I discovered I had frequent flyer miles that would allow me to fly there business class.

One thing led to another, and my plans miraculously came together.

On Labor Day weekend, I was on a Singapore Airlines flight and enjoyed, for over a month, living in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong with a stop in Japan.

Imagine what your life could be if you open to the possibility of turning your dreams and goals to reality.

Here’s an easy way to get started.

Your New Year’s Challenge is to consciously create an awesome year by writing 25 goals daily for a month.

Believe, the best you can, that you can have them or something better in your life.

Allow yourself to receive miracles coming from traditional sources as well as from out of the blue.

Why does it work? Your continued light-hearted focus sets energy in motion that magnetizes your goals to you.

  • Your goals can be BIG, mundane or heartfelt dreams.
  • Let go of the “need” to have them or wondering where they are. That energy of lack creates a filter that stalls or blocks their arrival.
  • When you accomplish things like “clean my desktop,” delete those intentions and replace them the next day.
  • Some you won’t care to continue to write about daily. Let those go for now. Add others.
  • Keep it fun as you continue your daily practice of writing your list of 25.

It’s time to create a wonderful year of your dreams coming true.

With gratitude,

Virginia

My Gift to You

December 19, 2016

christmas-gifts

Dear Friend,

My gift to you is one I give but only you can allow yourself to receive.

My gift to you is Peace and Joy.

Peace in your heart where nobody or nothing disturbs you.

Peace that comes from not judging others or yourself lest you be judged.

Peace that comes from not participating in criticism by speaking or listening to it.

Peace that comes from not taking on world problems and carrying them as your burden.

Peace that comes from putting life in perspective and not letting the little stuff bother you – and it’s all little stuff.

Peace that comes from compassion that others are doing the best they can even if it doesn’t meet your standards or if you don’t feel satisfied with whatever they have to give.

Peace that comes from making a decision to feel good instead of focusing on irritations, challenges and who done you wrong.

Peace that comes from choosing to stop worrying and living in fear but instead trusting in a Divine Presence that’s on your side, got your back and helps you to pave your future.

Peace that comes from kindness: kind words, kind actions, kind thoughts, kind intentions, kind feelings.

Peace that comes from the spirit of Christmas.

Peace that starts with you and spreads to the world.

And when the veils of illusion that cloud your Peace are replaced by Love, Joy fills your heart.

Believe that more Peace is available for you in this very moment.

Everyday you experience one or more moments of Peace and Joy, like when you see a baby, kitten, puppy or beautiful sunset.

So you know the feeling of Peace.

Simply expand on that, a little more each day.

Just like turning on a radio station, you can align your frequency to send and receive Peace and Joy.

It’s easier now to do this by tuning into the spirit of Christmas, whatever your personal beliefs, because Peace, Joy and Love are very much in the air.

May you drink deeply of this wonderful elixir of the Soul.

Enjoy your gifts!

With gratitude,

Virginia

TIP: Have fun. I did with Patrizio!

October 11, 2016

img_3868-2

Not having enough fun isn’t fun.

I’ve talked with several people having this experience. Hanging out by themselves, watching movies or searching the internet. Not going out with friends. Bogged down with daily living. (If that describes you, you’re not alone in being alone.)

In January, I included on this year’s mind map of goals Fun, Adventure, Travel, Dancing and Friends. My intentions have been working.

This weekend I had fun! Lots of it.

About ten years ago, I heard recordings of Patrizio, an Italian singer with an amazing voice. When he came to town on Thursday, I got a strong nudge to see him and went with my friend and client Belinda Mendoza, a feng shui expert for prosperity.

It was a surprisingly superb show.

When he mentioned he was performing in San Antonio the following night, and I already had plans to meet another friend and client there, I asked Carol if she wanted to go.

First, she and I enjoyed Happy Hour at Tower of the Americas while having a great conversation as we watched the sun go down.

We were having so much fun that we got to the theatre way past when we planned – 8:04 for an 8 PM concert.

Who did we see at the door? Patrizio and his fabulous band.

We laughed and joked together with Patrizio. He took selfies with us – oh shucks that they didn’t come out quite well enough to share.

We were already on a high from having so much fun, and then the concert started. His intention is for his audience to enjoy ourselves, and we did beyond expectation.

During his song “Mambo Italiano,” I was the audience member with whom he chose to dance a brief segment that’s part of his show.

If you ever have a chance to see one of Patrizio’s concerts, it’s great entertainment. He’s such a warm person and a phenomenally talented singer and musician who cares about his audience.

He sets the tone for joy, and I didn’t see one person who wasn’t moving to the music, smiling or shouting out their accolades of enthusiastic approval. That’s why people from coast to coast drove or flew in to see him.

After the show, we returned to the Tower to see three short movies with special effects.

Then, we took a walk to a nearby park.

Carol Warkoczewski is the City Architect of San Antonio, and she showed me Yanaguana Garden, which is a new 4.1-acre park.

Carol and her team, amongst others, played an important role in the park being the popular San Antonio highlight that it is today.

img_3875-2

Getting a park tour from Carol about the cutting edge design and creativity was… well, by this time my mind was getting blown by how many wonderful experiences I was having.

Supercharged ride on divine flow.

What an amazing couple of days!

Your TIP is to have more fun! Take time to enjoy this wonderful world.

We all need to play.

When you lighten up, your goals and dreams manifest more quickly and with grace and ease.

Find your Patrizio and go have some fun.

TIP: Have More Fun & Adventure for Success

Outside on a corner of my roof, wasps like to party – in spite of my calling the flying insect police on them a few times.

Meanwhile, one of the screens on my back porch was knocked down, and a couple of wasps found their way inside.

Although they could have escaped easily the same way they got in, they congregated on a screen that’s near party central and has no way out.

They gravitated toward what they know is home even though they weren’t able to get there from where they were. Even though they have the tools, the wings to fly, their approach wasn’t working.

They escaped when I did a catch and release with them.

It can be like having goals. Some people can know where they want to go, but it’s not possible to get there from where they are.

The business model and all the tools of the trade can be in place. Yet, success, if any, is limited.

If you’re speeding along on a track where you know that your life or business could be greater, it can be challenging to recognize you’re on the wrong track let alone know how to get on the right track for you.

How can you know if you’re on the right track?

Check out how you feel. Do you have good feeling mojo, momentum created from feeling good?

Here’s how some people from this morning’s mastermind group described it at the end of our call:

  • I have so much energy, I can’t wait to go to work and create.
  • I don’t doubt myself. I own who I am and what I do.
  • I feel anchored, grounded and filled with enthusiasm.
  • What a magical way to start my week.

While masterminding, people share their vision of team members living their dreams. Someone once said, “where else do you go to hear regularly how wonderful you are?”

Which creates better results? The voice in your head doubting your ability to succeed OR being open to infinite possibilities and knowing you will thrive.

“Through others’ words and how they see me, It helps me see and acknowledge my gifts,” a team member commented.

“In the past, I had limiting beliefs about myself which took away from what I’m doing. My thinking was that I didn’t have enough experience, education and more.

“I made up stories from my childhood about how I couldn’t do things.

“Now I know that I and my experiences are more than enough. I have self-confidence, self-worth and self-esteem. I value my own talent whereas before I thought I needed degrees, something other than what I had and be someone different.”

Newton’s First Law of Motion states that a body at rest will remain at rest unless an outside force acts on it, and a body in motion at a constant velocity will remain in motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force.

In other words, we’ll keep doing what we’re doing unless acted up by an outside force, just like the wasps. They knew their goal, but their best instincts were not producing viable results.

Stuck and limited are boring and not fun, especially when you’re destined for much more.

TIP: The 4 P’s Keys to Break Free

March 8, 2016

4keys_golden

Are you ready, perhaps beyond ready, to break free from the sameness of your business or life (same money, people, problems, etc.), debt or feeling the drag of whatever’s not working for you?

Wherever you are, there IS a way to free yourself so you can share your gifts with the world in a bigger way and be richly compensated.

Here are four keys that can help:

PLANNING and PERSPECTIVE: Bring on an elixir that brings results – a CEO meeting with the Divine.

Seriously, this really works.

Take time to write your needs and choices (not just talk and beg) and ask God, the universe or however you relate to the Powers That BE for help. By pausing to gain perspective and accessing this source of Love and wisdom, you open yourself to direction and miracles.

Use your meeting to write down plans, insights and ideas. You may not know what to do, but you’re not asking you. Open to receive guidance.

Numerous times when I thought there were no solutions, new paths appeared where they previously hadn’t existed. If you keep the faith, you can gain both perspective and results.

For more details, check out my very first blog post https://soulgoals.wordpress.com/2009/10/

PROMOTION: To move forward requires connecting with others. Create or foster relationships. Share your ideas. Believe enough in you and what you do to promote your vision to others. Open to new ways to share or market you and your gifts.

If you don’t know how, go back to the CEO meeting with the Divine. If an idea doesn’t pop in immediately, it’s on its way.

Surround yourself with people who have positive energy and care about you. A mastermind team can offer support and focus to stay on track with your goals. Be sure you’re receiving not just giving.

By the way, don’t be so self-centered that you only care about you. Healthy relationships are about balance.

Decades ago, I saw a skit that I still remember. While singing a beautiful opera aria, a woman was surrounded on stage with numerous people. However, she was so preoccupied with her own voice without paying attention to others that, one by one, they left the stage.

At the end of the song, she was alone.

If you’re consumed with your greatness, opinions or problems and consistently share these without a sincere interest in others, you may find your support dwindling.

PERFORMANCE: Take action. Work your business. Improve your skills. Meet with clients and prospects. Spend time on money-generating activities, if that’s your goal. Give your best service to the world in whatever capacity you can in the moment. Allow the universe to meet you half way by being visible and participating in life.

TIP: The 4 Keys to Break Free

You ARE important, so take time for you.

  • Pull out a pad of paper and have a meeting with your CEO.
  • Reach out and connect. Build relationships. Share your vision with those who might be supportive or can advance you in doing what you love.
  • Five days a week, take action to move you in the direction of your vision. What starts out as a small step can gain momentum – and you’ll be unstoppable.

BONUS: Set an intention that your plans are working. Your ideas might not manifest exactly as you thought, but they may emerge better than imagined. Find a saying that inspires you and repeat it, such as:

Life always work out in my favor. Life always work out in my favor. Life always work out in my favor.

You can discover it does, if you’re open to believe.

In case your CEO meeting or gut tells you to get more support, clarity or share your gifts in a bigger way, contact me for a free, one-hour Do What You Love Break Free Session at vg@ResolvedForResults.com.

I work with people who long to share their gifts with the world in a bigger way but don’t know how or feel stuck. I help them find their passion and be richly compensated doing what they love.

TIP: 3 Ways to Create Magical Success

February 16, 2016

magic - Tony Robbins

Your intentions matter. Your thoughts, feelings and words are like magnets, so whatever you focus on grows. Magical, frustrated, stuck, discouraged or hell is your choice. Regardless of your circumstances.

I just returned from a business retreat in California, and I journaled my intentions for my trip before and during the event. Starting my day in divine flow was one of my focuses.

Before I share some of my magical outcomes and to give you a glimpse of what I mean by divine flow, here’s an excerpt from the manual of my program Resolved for Results: A Step-by-Step Guide to Live Your Dreams… even if you failed before, lost hope, are afraid, stressed or confused.

Life consists of flows of energy. Which flows do you follow?

If you tell a policeman you were speeding because you went with the flow of traffic, you’d get a ticket. You followed others’ flows.

Do you go with the flow of conversation with people who gossip or talk a lot about their problems? You followed others’ negativity to fit in.

When you choose to be in divine flow, you allow the universal energy and your spirit to take you beyond the daily chaos and ego’s desires.

Divine flow elevates you to a zone beyond fear and resistance, to be at peace with what is. You relax and release fixed ideas of how you think your life should go by knowing there’s a bigger plan in play.

While in divine flow, things that look like mistakes turn out to be part of the magic.

For example, while standing at a kiosk anticipating a pickup, I discovered the hotel stopped their airport shuttle service last month.

When the hotel called me back, I was told that because the organizers booked the meeting rooms last year, the hotel honored the pickup. My ride arrived in 15 minutes. Later, a woman told me she waited over two hours in the heat of the day to get her ride.

My driver learned I was staying a mile away from the hotel at an Airbnb home. He asked if I wanted a ride directly there. Arriving hours earlier than planned, the hostess happened to be there for lunch and let me in.

She offered and drove me to a local site I wanted to see, waited at a supermarket so I could buy food, dropped me off and picked me up from the hotel everyday, and gave me an extra night for free! I didn’t ask for any of this. She was so happy to volunteer these and never did this for any of her guests in the 2 ½ years she’s opened her home.

Several retreat participants who witnessed some of my experiences and facilitation came to me over the weekend proclaiming that my life is magical, and it overflows to include those around me.

Recently in business, I had a deadline to make a sale or my accumulated points and pay out would be lost. Someone contacted me out-of-the-blue and made a purchase just in time.

A Realtor client I mentioned on last week’s TIP: What to Do When There’s Not Enough had a similar experience when she signed up two listings that just appeared to her when she hadn’t had any listings in months.

You can learn the tools to create this kind of success in your life and business, too.

TIP: 3 Ways to Create Magical Success

Your magical life and business are here for your taking. It happens when you believe you can.

1. Start your day by choosing to be in Divine Flow. At first, you may notice only incremental changes – things become easier, and you may receive unexpected, positive results. During your day, focus on these not the yucky stuff. Step at a time, you’ll gain momentum… and that’s when the magic really kicks in.

2. Kick out doubt. From my Resolved for Results course: “If you surrender and then continue to energize doubt with your feelings and attention, the doubt will push out your faith. Instead, choose to kick out doubt.”

3. Be vigilant about your associations, and don’t listen to trash talk from others or the limiting voice in your head. Join a positive, mastermind group to energize you and your goals.

You’re worth it. You CAN have quicker success with grace and ease. Think about how our business can grow. Investing your energy and time to create a magical life without the stress is a lot more fun, productive, meaningful… and possible for YOU!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER IN 3 SECONDS

January 14, 2013

Ever start your day with dread? You don’t know how you’re going to get things done. Worried about what your spouse, boss or kids are going to say or do. Wondering how you’re going to get more money.

You may not mean it, but haphazard musings create intentions that cascade throughout your day. If you begin your morning with fear, anxiety or lack of direction, life will present you with a smorgasbord of experiences to match.

December was super busy for me. I launched my days thinking about my To Do list, random thoughts, what happened yesterday… just anything. The results were a crisis a week that miraculously got solved – but what a roller coaster ride.

I had taken a break from what I know works – quiet time to go within and consciously set intentions. As the year rolled in, I realized it made sense to take three seconds to say:

I CHOOSE TO BE IN DIVINE FLOW.

I often add a few extra game changers such as divine order, timing, financial abundance, grace and ease or whatever inspires me.

A couple of weeks later I noticed how everyday had been astounding. I was still busy and successful yet not overwhelmed – as long as I remembered to choose to be in divine flow. I also noticed that if I didn’t react but instead let situations play out, even things that appeared to be two sandwiches short of a lunch were fulfilling.

It’s mind boggling to think that something so simple can manifest such profound results.

Imagine going to a ticket counter at a train station. If you hop on any train you could land in an urban jungle. But divine flow is different. You’re allowing the life force to guide you, surrendering control to a Master Planner who has your best interest at heart.

If you question that life is supportive, consider these words from Einstein:

“I think the most important question facing humanity is,’Is the universe a friendly place?’ This is the first and most basic question all people must answer for themselves.”

“If we decide that the universe is neither friendly nor unfriendly and that God is essentially ‘playing dice with the universe,’ then we are simply victims to the random toss of the dice and our lives have no real purpose or meaning.”

“God does not play dice with the universe.”

Your life isn’t random. You’re not a victim. You have the ability to consciously design your life with the divine.

Discover this co-creation by running an experiment. Choose to be in divine flow daily for two weeks. Not just any flow – not your neighbor’s or that of people at work. Divine Flow. Affirm with an attitude of faith not desperation. If you forget in the morning, do it later. I’ve now included it as a non-negotiable way to start my day, right up there with going to the bathroom.

Now it’s your turn to “row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.  Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily. Life is but a dream.” It’s a dream you’re creating.
