Inspiring Quotes, Powerful Insights on Success and Your Dreams

October 12, 2020

In the first week of its release in 1988, only one person bought a copy from a local bookseller of the now classic The Alchemist by Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho. One more copy was bought from that same person six months later.

After one year, his publisher cancelled Coelho’s contract. He was 41 and desperate.

However, this living legend never lost faith in his dream or his book, in spite of ingrained, childhood beliefs, which created self-doubts that he could succeed.

From the book’s introduction, “We are told from childhood that everything we want to do is impossible. We grow up with this idea, and as the years accumulate, so too do the layers of prejudice, fear, and guilt. There comes a time when our personal calling is so deeply buried in our soul as to be invisible. But it’s still there.”

Flying in the face of his defeats and fears, he went from one publisher to the next, and his book was picked up by U.S. publisher HarperCollins.

After a time, President Bill Clinton was photographed with a copy. Julia Roberts commented about The Alchemist during an interview for Vanity Fair magazine. With acclaims from Rush Limbaugh to Will SmithThe Alchemist became a phenomena. The book hit a milestone by being on The New York Times bestseller list for over 300 weeks and is now an international bestseller translated into more than 80 languages.

Coelho writes: “A man sets out on a journey, dreaming of a beautiful or magical place, in pursuit of an unknown treasure. At the end of his journey, he realizes the treasure was within him the entire time.”

Each year, hundreds of thousands walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain, France and Portugal. I became enchanted with this quest in another of his international bestsellers The Pilgrimage, a novel that blends adventure with self-mastery.

Regardless if you choose to fulfill your heart’s desire to enjoy a better body or health, a loving relationship, a more harmonious family life, financial prosperity, spiritual fulfillment, peace or happiness, may you be inspired to live your dreams!

Enjoy these quotes by Paulo Coelho. Oooo, they are really good! Some ideas have taken me decades to assimilate (so don’t give up), but how my life is enriched because of aspiring to their wisdom!

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
(Dear Reader, you do have dreams. Don’t abandon them!)

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
(Stick with a heartfelt idea long enough, and magic happens. Help comes from unimagined places.)

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”
(“Impossible” is an old program of limitation that lies to you. Don’t believe it.)

“Don’t give in to your fears. If you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart.” (Your choice – converse with fears or your heart. Yes, it is a choice.)

“Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.” (Indeed, your treasure is within you right now!)

“Don’t waste your time with explanations: people only hear what they want to hear.”
(What most people share and want to hear is their opinion, not necessarily the truth.)

“If you want to be successful, you must respect one rule – Never lie to yourself.

 “This above all:
To thine own self be true,
for it must follow as dost the night the day,
that canst not then be false to any man.”

(Coelho’s quote reminded me of this one from “Hamlet” by Shakespeare, who ripped off the idea from, I mean was inspired by, Socrates.)

“When I had nothing to lose, I had everything. When I stopped being who I am, I found myself.
(There’s freedom to BE when we let go of our preconceived notions of who we think we are or should be.)

“There is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It’s your mission on earth.
(Believe and allow.)

“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.”

Wayne Dyer: “What if it Doesn’t Work?

March 18, 2019

Life’s challenges can make it hard to imagine how it’s possible to achieve and enjoy something better.

You might muse about what you really want, then pivot to see what’s actually going on in your life and think that you must be crazy. “How can I get there from here? Don’t kid yourself. Reality check. It’s impossible.”

That sets the stage for an age old question waiting in the shadows of your unconscious to speak: If I try, what if it doesn’t work?

Here’s another question… What if it does? What if it does work?!

A client, having just finished an excruciating year where her life bottomed out leaving her deflated and her energy flat lined, set goals that included $2 million in investments.

Especially considering what her life looked like at the time, that could seem like a pretty far fetched goal.

A year later, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of her disheartening past, she was hired by a company that previously had contracted with her for specific tasks. Part of her benefits include company stock valued over $2 million and earning more money than she ever made before.

She let go of enough of her painful adversities, doubt and fear. Now, she’s able to use her imagination to focus on what she wants and believing in herself. It worked.

Here’s Wayne Dyer explaining “What if it doesn’t work” and what to do about it on his PBS special.

The student should constantly remind yourself if it doesn’t feel natural, if it doesn’t feel natural, it isn’t going to work.

Now I was being interviewed on a national television show, by a guy who was about five foot seven and weighed about 140#, and he did this long, intensive interview with me. And he said, “You mean to tell me that if I do everything that you say that I can become a linebacker for the New York Giants’ professional football team?” …

And I said, “Does it feel natural for you to be a linebacker for the New York Giants? Does that feel natural to you?” And he said, “No. It doesn’t.”

And if it just doesn’t feel natural to you, then all of the rest of this is just a waste of your energy.”

Now the question isn’t whether you’re going to become a linebacker on a professional football team, but does it feel natural for you to say:

  • I deserve prosperity?
  • Does it feel natural for you to say: I deserve to be in a state of well-being?
  • I deserve for my body to weigh exactly what I want it to weigh – what it is supposed to weigh?
  • Does it feel natural for you to say I am beautiful?
  • I am strong?
  • I am capable?
  • I am loved?

If it doesn’t feel natural, you’ve got a real problem going with your subconscious mind.

How can this naturalness be achieved? The secret lies in one word.

How I COMPLETELY Missed My Goal

October 29, 2018

mountainIt felt as if I were about to climb a BIG mountain without the gear.

Small things can be easy to manifest, especially those that don’t come with a risk, like finding a convenient parking spot.

A while ago, I bought several boxes of a particular type of supplement on clearance at a supermarket. Recently, I noticed that I’d run out in a couple of days and casually thought that I’d find something to replace them.

It was an easy intention without any emotional fanfare. A few hours later, I found on clearance at the same market several boxes of a similar supplement by the same company. They may even be better than my original ones.

I had another goal. It was a BIG goal with a quick deadline. I felt pressure because it was important that I reach it; there would be consequences if I didn’t. To achieve it felt as if I were about to climb a mountain without the gear.

While other goals related to it manifested easily, I didn’t even scratch the surface of my BIG goal.

This is why.

I put so much monumental importance on it, and I made it such a BIG thing, that I blew the energy to manifest it. To turn a dream into reality requires a light touch. That’s the opposite of what I had. I couldn’t even imagine attaining my goal beyond giving it lip service.

Here’s more of how I completely missed my goal.

  • While I knew I wanted the goal, I had contradictory thoughts that I could achieve it. I made it so BIG in my thoughts that I doubted my ability to manifest it quickly.
  • Emotionally, I didn’t anticipate achieving it.
  • I couldn’t see myself achieving it.
  • When I thought about it, I couldn’t imagine HOW I could accomplish it. (Another big faux pas – let life figure out the how part).
  • While intellectually I knew it was possible, I didn’t believe I would do it.

So I didn’t manifest it.

Even though it looked like a window closed, the experience prompted me to open a door that I’d been slow to approach in the past. I mean, I could’ve opened Door #1 so long ago that the hinges now had become creaky. However, the door opened once I focused my attention on it.

Regardless of how it appeared, this turned into an opportunity that inspired me to change direction. Although I missed one goal, I learned a lot. I’m now better positioned to create positive results from even bigger ones.

I knew what I’d done, and then I read a quote by Abraham-Hicks to clarify even more. Here’s the quote:

“All the resources you will ever want or need are at your fingertips. All you have to do is identify what you want to do with it, and then practice the feeling-place of what it will feel like when that happens. There is nothing you cannot be or do or have. You are blessed Beings; you have come forth into this physical environment to create. There is nothing holding you back, other than your own contradictory thought. And your emotion tells you you’re doing that. Life is supposed to be fun—it is supposed to feel good! You are powerful Creators and right on schedule.

“Savor more; fix less. Laugh more; cry less. Anticipate positively more; anticipate negatively less. Nothing is more important than that you feel good. Just practice that and watch what happens.”

The Wisdom of Marilyn Monroe… in her own words

October 8, 2018

marilyn-monroe-eb35b3072e_340

Sensitive with an artistic temperament, yes. But Marilyn wasn’t the dumb blonde she played on the silver screen.

Born Norma Jeane Mortenson in 1926, she was raised by an alcoholic mother, was shuttled between no less than nine foster homes and was at an orphanage for two years until she married at the age of 16 to get away from it all. She later became one of the world’s most iconic sex symbols.

“I used to think as I looked at the Hollywood night, ‘There must be thousands of girls sitting alone like me, dreaming of becoming a movie star. But I’m not going to worry about them. I’m dreaming the hardest.’”

An actress, model and singer, she played a major role in the creation and management of her public image throughout her career as a “blonde bombshell.”  Her top billing, although just a decade long, produced films that grossed the equivalent of $2 billion in 2017 valuation.

She was intelligent with great insights. I love this one that shows her understanding of how people project their inadequacies on others:

“People had a habit of looking at me as if I were some kind of mirror instead of a person. They didn’t see me; they saw their own lewd thoughts. Then they white-masked themselves by calling me the lewd one.”

In addition to knowing how to use her assets to advance professionally, she had a great mindset for success.

“The sky is not the limit. Your mind is.”

Remember…

“We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle.”

Immerse yourself in some of Marilyn Monroe’s wisdom and strength of perspective in her quotes found below, including how she ended an interview with what she believed.

When you have only a single dream it is more than likely to come true because you keep working toward it without getting mixed up.

Don’t let your fear of failing triumph over the joy of participating.

Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.

Always remember to smile and look up at what you got in life.

Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.

We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.

Never regret anything because at one time it was exactly what you wanted.

I live to succeed, not to please you or anyone else.

This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up.

If I’d observed all the rules, I’d never have gotten anywhere.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Cutting negative people from my life does not mean I hate them, it simply means I respect me.

Happiness is the most important thing in the world, without it, you live a life of depression.

Couldn’t we end this interview with what I really want to say? That what the world really needs is a real feeling of kinship. Everybody: stars, laborers, Negroes, Jews, Arabs. We are all brothers. If we could end this article saying just that, we’d get down to what we should all be talking about. Please don’t make me a joke. End the interview with what I believe.

business in a BIGGER way but don’t know how, feel stuck or
could use new tools or support.

they love with their Soul’s goals.

The Mindset of Will Smith who Bungee Jumped into the Grand Canyon

October 1, 2018

will smith

On his 50th birthday, actor Will Smith bungee jumped off the side of a helicopter into the Grand Canyon.

“Don’t look down. Never look down,” he can be heard saying before the jump.

Then, with crowds watching and cameras rolling, he let go, pushed himself off, dove backwards with arms outstretched and had the time of his life.

During the jump he exclaimed, while sandwiched between the magnificent Grand Canyon below and expansive clouds above, “This is gorgeous. This is gorgeous… This is some of the most beautiful stuff I’ve ever seen in my life. This is gorgeous. Beautiful. Beautiful… From pure terror to absolute bliss’

After several minutes he said, “I’m ready for them to put my a_ _ down, though. I can tell you that much.”

Here’s the jump on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uilQxtVvpQ

Will Smith was born on September 25th, 1968, to a middle-class, Philadelphia family. Newsweek has called him “the most powerful actor in Hollywood.” He’s won four Grammy Awards and has also been nominated for two Academy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.

What’s the mindset of someone who creates a life like this? Read his quotes below. No limits for this man!

“I want to represent the idea that you really can make what you want … I believe I can create whatever I want to create.”

“The first step before anyone else in the world believes it is you have to believe it.”

“The first step is you have to say that you can.”

“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”

“Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings & emotions.”

“Don’t chase people. Be yourself, do your own thing and work hard. The right people – the ones who really belong in your life – will come to you. And stay.”

“Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they are going to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.”

“Being realistic is the most common path to mediocrity.”

“Greatness is not this wonderful, esoteric, elusive, godlike feature that only the special among us will ever taste; it’s something that truly exists in all of us.”

“Life is lived on the edge.”

“You don’t try to build a wall. You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say I’m gonna build the biggest, baddest wall that’s ever been built. You say, I’m gonna lay this brick, as perfectly as a brick can be laid, and you do that every single day, and soon you have a wall. It’s difficult to take the first step when you look at how big the task is. The task is never huge to me, it’s always one brick.”

“I don’t know what my calling is, but I want to be here for a bigger reason. I strive to be like the greatest people who have ever lived.”

“PROSPERITY is God’s Idea” – 10 quotes

September 10, 2018

prosperity blessing
In the introduction of the book PROSPERITY is God’s Idea by Dr. Margaret M. Stevens is written:

“If you have struggled, perhaps for years, trying to make your available money cover all your needs… If you have felt cheated out of life’s blessings… If you have envied another’s possessions or life-style… If you think that poverty and limitation are God’s idea, and that you might as well get used to living without the luxuries and comforts of abundant living… Read on!!! This book was written for you.”

Following are quotes from the book. For some, you may be more comfortable substituting the word God for the universe or another word of your choice.

“True prosperity incudes an abundance of all the good things in life… good health, right relationships, satisfying work AND a more than ample supply of money.”

“Have you ever felt that you are unworthy? Remember that you are a child of God and therefore you inherit His bounty in the form of every good thing.”

“No person, place, thing or condition can keep your good from you… Nothing outside yourself denies you your good. Your own negative belief is the culprit. Deny that belief and replace it with a deep conviction in your good already manifested, and you will see that good flowing to you.”

“The power of the spoken word cannot be emphasized too strongly. By the words shalt thou be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37″

“Emmet Fox, that great Truth teacher, said this about blessing: Bless a thing and it will bless you. Curse it and it will curse you. If you put your condemnation on anything in life, it will hit back at you and hurt you. If you bless a situation, it has no power to hurt you, and even if it is troublesome for a time, it will gradually fade out if you sincerely bless it.”

“Bless your money, your debts, your problems, your food, your body, your family, your business, your friends. You can improve every condition in your life by blessing it. Could anything be simpler? Try it!”

“There is no true prosperity unless the bank account is accompanied by health and happiness. Prosperity must involve the whole person.”

“If you think you need more money in order to be secure, your real need is to know God as your only source and supply.”

“You are here to express God through your particular talents and abilities.”

“The moment you start to fill your mind with these prosperous ideas, your transformation begins.”

How a Woman Was Asked to Take $15-$20,000

August 27, 2018

Plus 10 quotes from James Allen’s As a Man Thinketh

Money

A client decided to launch a non-profit in her industry. Her first event had around 50 people in attendance.

Ten years later, she has several chapters around the state along with a base of corporate connections.

Last month during her coaching session, we discussed the idea of getting underwriters at $13,000 each annually and how she could put together a brochure to announce this. A professional she considered hiring for this purpose suggested writing a personal letter to each prospective underwriter instead.

She did neither.

However, she mentioned her idea to a corporate leader and then, implementing tools she’s learned during my new Conscious Creators’ Course, she found herself thinking about her underwriters’ program throughout the month.

Do you remember a time when you were lovestruck and thoughts and feelings about the other would linger in the background or completely occupy your attention? That’s how it was for her. Her thoughts would go in and out about the program she was developing, sharing it with others, the difference it would make… and so it went throughout the month.

The day before last Thursday’s coaching session, she and the corporate leader talked again. In fact, they’d been playing phone tag for two weeks before their follow up conversation about becoming an underwriter.

“We want to give you $15,000 to $20,000. Please give us a reason, a justification. You don’t have to send an email, just a text.”

A short text to him after our session containing seed ideas for the program brought an affirmative response along with an appointment scheduled on Monday for follow up.

She approached this on an energy level first before taking action. The result was that money was being thrust on her with no effort on her part.

May you enjoy these quotes from James Allen’s classic book As a Man Thinketh to inspire you to attract results about what you love.

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so shall he be.”

“As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.”

“A person is limited only by the thoughts that he chooses.”

“Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of his life.

“Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”

“All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.”

“Thoughts of doubt and fear never accomplished anything, and never can. They always lead to failure.”

“Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought in some direction. It is an indication that the individual is out of harmony with himself, with the Law of his being.”

Following are great quotes especially for those who’ve ever been chastised for day dreaming by others who didn’t realize how all great ideas and manifestations start with a dreamer. Everyone else follows in the shadow of someone’s dream or gets paid by people who had a vision and used their imagination to turn their dreams to reality.

“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.”

“The dreamers are the saviors of the world. As the visible world is sustained by the invisible, so men, through all their trials and sins and sordid vocations, are nourished by the beautiful visions of their solitary dreamers. Humanity cannot forget its dreamers; it cannot let their ideals fade and die; it lives in them; it knows them as the realities which it shall one day see and know. Composer, sculptor, painter, poet, prophet, sage, these are the makers of the after-world, the architects of heaven. The world is beautiful because they have lived; without them, laboring humanity would perish. He who cherishes a beautiful vision, a lofty ideal in his heart, will one day realize it. Columbus cherished a vision of another world, and he discovered it; Copernicus fostered the vision of a multiplicity of worlds and a wider universe, and he revealed it; Buddha beheld the vision of a spiritual world of stainless beauty and perfect peace, and he entered into it.”
