An Eclipse, Hurricane Harvey & a Bigger Design

August 28, 2017

Nature has her way of clearing energy, including that which hibernates unseen for centuries from wars and negativity. Wind and water through floods and rains are some methods she uses to purify as well as encourage people to make changes.

It’s been described to me this way. The planet is a living organism, and nature is like a farmer rotating her crops. There are times we must look for a different place to grow, higher ground.

Speaking of energy, the power of supportive thoughts and prayers makes a difference.

It’s a good time to take a moment now to send positive energy.

In one week, we’ve seen changes from a total eclipse to Hurricane Harvey.

At the beginning of the week, people’s differences evaporated as they came together during a total eclipse.

Days later, differences cease to exist once more as people risk their lives to help friends and total strangers in the worse disaster Texas has seen.

For every experience, however calamitous, there’s always a silver lining.

While living in New York City, I wondered what could cause people there to shift their attitudes and come together. When 9/11 came along, I got my answer. As we witnessed the worst of humanity, we also saw its best as the world pulled together in support.

Amidst the shock and devastation caused by Harvey, we see courage, selflessness, kindness, caring, respect, compassion, love and people helping people. Humanity at its best.

It often takes things to get really bad before we refocus on what’s real and truly important.

Through crises, we role model to ourselves behaviors that we can continue to choose on a daily basis.

Opinionated soap boxes and self-serving, judgmental attitudes seem petty. Past worries become small.

You’ve experienced challenges; some were life-changing.

Maybe your material things got shuffled around, and life didn’t turn out the way you expected (if that’s even possible for anyone). Your struggles stretched you to the max. The mirror of how you saw yourself was shattered.

The master gardener of life tilled your fields making room for different crops. Better crops.

Look at a current challenge in your business or life.

Step back and put things in perspective. Maybe you have to take so many steps back to get a better view that you feel like you’re falling off a cliff.

If you let go of your preconceived ideas, can you see a bigger design?

You’re learning something. Dodged a bullet you didn’t know was coming. Made changes you prayed for but didn’t know how to make. You grew.

Use your experiences as a course correct for your business, work and life instead of letting them beat you down.

To see a more immense picture, realize that you’re on a rock orbiting a star called our sun that’s 93 million miles away while spinning at nearly 1000 miles an hour.

By doing so, you can feel something more vast than everyday life as well as your place in the universe.

Put on your energetic, eclipse glasses, see the sun and be open to receive inspired “soulutions.”

What Money and My Telling a Guy I Didn’t Need Him Have in Common

August 21, 2017

Chase

We met by chance when he was house hunting, and I just happened to be outside a home I hadn’t moved into yet.

After our brief meeting, he bought the house next door because he created a fantasy about the two of us getting married.

This sweet man desperately wanted a woman.

Even as time went on, he didn’t have an interest to know me, my beliefs, what I do or if I cared about him. I was “nice,” and that’s all that mattered.

He so needed to feel loved. It was really all about him.

Needy people try to get fulfillment from something outside of themselves that they haven’t found within.

When he put serious moves on me, I told him that I didn’t need him.

He heard this before when his ex-wife said the same thing on her way out the door.

I didn’t say it to hurt him. I’ve learned to guide my life by choice not neediness, especially when it comes to relationships.

Eventually, he found someone in a place of hardship who literally needed help. They got married, and he moved.

I see them on occasion. Now that the crisis has passed, they don’t look too happy together.

Whatever you chase after, because you need it, runs in the other direction.

This can appear to be a brain twister, but follow along because it’s a key to life.

It’s the reason you can have good relationships and, well, everything.

If you want or need a relationship, it means you don’t have one. Energetically, something’s missing. Lack attracts lack. You’re left wanting but not having.

However, when you come from a place of having, you attract more of what you have to you.  From an energy perspective, it doesn’t matter if you actually have it. The key is that you have the feeling within that you do.

It’s the same with needing business or money. If you need it, you push it away.

You can have anything you choose, as long as you don’t want it.

I told you this can be a brain twister. The more you get it, though, changes your life for the better.

When you want something, you’re sending out the energy of lack or not enough, what you don’t have.

Lack energy implies what you want is out there somewhere, but you don’t have it. You’re incomplete. So it will always be out there somewhere.

Ever run after a child or pet? They run the other way.

Ever have someone want you and chase after you? You feel like running and hiding.

Your goals and money will run away from you, too, if they’re out there somewhere and you’re chasing them.

Do you choose to want more or to actually have it?

This isn’t double talk. Consider it this way. Wanting and having are opposing energies.

You can’t drive forward and in reverse at the same time. At best, you’d go in circles.

The way out of this conundrum?

Let go.

This is why I created my Liberation of Lunacy (LoL) technique.  Because we’re all a little crazy when the ego takes over and fills us with fear, anxiety, neediness, limit and doubt.

Instead of needing more money, business, time or a relationship, come from a place of “all your needs are met beyond your wildest expectation.”

That’s a first step in letting go.

Today is your day.

Total eclipse.

Ready to have your life eclipse for the better?

Claim how.

Be sure to include having fun and living with gusto!

With gratitude,

Virginia

How Do You Know If You’re on the Right Track?

August 15, 2017

You don’t have to hit bottom before making changes. Instead, there’s a way to read the signs to know when it’s time to go in another direction.

These people were ready to go off the deep end and drown in a pool of their own outrage.

• A businesswoman got upset when she received information that stopped an important deal in its tracks.
• Because her boss has it in for her, another woman wondered if she should leave her job.
• Ready to begin his vacation, a man got angry when he arrived and discovered his property had been trashed.

However, when they noticed their emotions were getting the best of them, each stepped back, observed and course corrected by changing their attitudes.

What was the sign that alerted them to shift?

They didn’t feel good because they were angry, so they knew they were on the wrong track and out-of-alignment with their inner GPS.

A clue that let’s you know if you’re on track or not is how you’re feeling.

________________________________________

What can you do about it? If you’re not happy, release the emotions and be open to take action on new options.

That can take some practice, and it’s an acquired skill.

Yet the faster you notice you’re off track, before momentum runs away to the point of no return, the easier it is to redirect your focus to more empowering perspectives and solutions.

By the way, that’s what each one in the above examples did.

Each discovered great resolutions to their issues. How? They made conscious choices not to let their emotions get the best of them. They pivoted and headed in a new direction.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a new challenge or you’re wondering how the heck your life got to this point; you can choose now to change tracks.

Don’t feel bad and spin your wheels wondering why you’re on a particular track. Just make a decision to change.

No sense in beating yourself up, either, as it doesn’t help.

You’re definitely not alone in needing to change direction. It’s so common, we have lots of way of saying it.

• Get a fresh start
• Begin a new chapter
• Do-over
• Turn this ship around
• Turn a new leaf
• Pivot
• Course correct
• Shift gears

The good news is that you’re alive, so there’s time for a change, even if it’s just your attitude.

Are you on the right track?

Well, are you having fun yet?

Sometimes all it takes is changing the way you see things for the answers to make themselves known.

With gratitude,

Virginia

Do You Wish Things Had Turned Out Differently?

August 7, 2017

Not happy with her life, she felt depressed for quite a while.

Although her current employment has gratifying moments, she’s caught in a dead-end job that’s light years away from the passion that lights her up.

Why did she stay in a funk for so long? She kept reflecting on her past and projecting it on her future.

In her ego’s way of thinking, success would continue to elude her no matter how hard she tried.  “Nothing will ever work, so why bother?”

Another watched big parts of her life and years-long business eclipse into oblivion, and she felt that she was “losing everything.”

Yet another looked back at a lifetime of accomplishments and compared them to others. She thought life (and money) had passed her by while she was preoccupied dredging through drama, mediocrity and poor choices in relationships and affiliations. Ignoring the good stuff, she felt her grand total added up to not being not good enough.

The ego likes to judge and compare and creates suffering in the process.

However, when each looked deeper, their perspectives changed.

To sum it up in a few words, that was then and this is now.

Now, each is focused on starting a new chapter.

Life is full of twists and turns, and the longer you live, the more ups as well as downs occur. Your interpretation of them determines if you see these as mostly peaks or mostly valleys.

Regret is a complete waste of time and energy.

Once, while talking to one of my teachers, I said I felt like several years of my life were a wasteland. With a big world out there, my world felt barren.

He asked, “What did you learn?”

Interestingly, while outwardly my life lacked adventure, it produced one of my biggest growth experiences.

What I thought was a dry desert was actually part of my schooling to more effectively help people get unstuck and, instead, be richly compensated doing what they love.

When momentum from my former, fast-paced activities slowed down, I thought my life had stalled. I later realized I had been on a fast train heading in the wrong direction. Shifting gears provided an opportunity to let go of my old ways that I thought were my “right” ways.

My new track was the route to greater authenticity, fulfillment and success.

You are scripting your life and business.

You don’t have to try to defend or justify why you are where you are now because of your past history.

Simply live in the present and move forward.

If you don’t like parts of it, how can you put them in a more empowered perspective?

Ask your inner wisdom how everything that’s happened in your life and business has all been a foundation for your next chapter.

If you wished your life or business had turned out differently, this is your moment to gain insight and, as if you’re writing a play, create your next act. Script it so that the best is yet to come.

With gratitude,

Virginia
