Decision: Which Way Should You Go Forward?

April 22, 2024

Would you rather go anywhere or somewhere?

How can you pick a direction if you don’t know where you’re going? This is Alice’s dilemma in Alice in Wonderland.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cheshire Cat.

“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.

“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.

“–so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation.

“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”

Would you rather go anywhere or somewhere?

Anywhere might be the same or worse than where you are now. That is, unless you have an idea of where you want to go. Then you’d be somewhere not just anywhere. And that somewhere would be of your choosing.

Although some may tell you to go to a fiery destination, nobody knows where you ought to go but you.

So, the first step is clarity.

KEY:  Your inner GPS, the quiet voice within, knows and shows you your best place to shine.

Life is a dance. If you listen to the voice within, you’ll be directed to the best “dance class” to get your shine on. You don’t have to know the steps in advance as you’ll be taught along the way. Life works with intention and is a great dance teacher.

Your job is to name your dance.

A client who experienced personal devastation is continuing to find happiness while creating a new life.

How? By taking quiet time every day to visualize.

Results? Whatever was pictured in the morning or evening before happened during the day! The cumulative effect over time created a magnificent home, fulfilling work, more money than ever, a lifelong partner, exercise program, plus peace of mind.

Focus on where you want to get to.

Direct your attention, as the Cat said, to “where you want to get to” and stop mulling over your confusion or all the annoying things that you don’t want in your life.

Change the channel from your inner noise to your breathing – in and out. As your thoughts quiet and you’re feeling more neutral, ask for clarity about direction and the best steps for you to take.

Not clear yet? There’s your clueless side (the ego) and your wise self (your Essence) that already has your answers.

Begin by asking for wisdom to take center stage.

Then, see yourself living your ideal day. Feel yourself living the life you’d love to live. Imagine that it’s not only possible (and this may seem delusional) but act as if it’s already happening now.

Later, observe how your day and life mirror your intentions… and be amazed at how it matches what you thought about at the beginning of your day.

Don’t worry if you’re not perfect at it when you begin because you may be slipping in and out of negative thinking of what you don’t want. Practice.

Life is a controllable thing. Yes, you read that right. You are not a victim. Things aren’t just happening to you arbitrarily.

It starts with kn
owing your direction!

“You are already that which you want to be, and your refusal to believe it is the only reason you do not see it.”

“If you will assume your desire and live there as though it were true, no power on earth can stop it from becoming a fact.”

“A change of feeling is a change of destiny.”

“This experience has convinced me that man can be anything he pleases if he will make the conception habitual and think from the end. It has also shown me that I can no longer excuse myself by placing the blame on the world of external things—that my good and my evil have no dependency except from myself—that it depends on the state from which I view the world how things present themselves.”

Don’t Be Afraid Of COVID-19… Or Anything Else, For That Matter

June 29, 2020

“Life is a controllable thing.”
Neville Goddard,
Awakened Imagination

You are not a victim.

You are more in control of your life than you might imagine.

Ahh, therein lies the key. How do you use your imagination?

Do you imagine the worse? Are you afraid of what might happen in the future?

Are you wading through life in a sea of “what if” my fears come to pass? What if I get sick?

“For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me,
And what I dreaded has happened to me.”
Job 3:25,  New King James Version

What if you go through the pandemic without getting sick?  Or what if you get sick and get through it?

And if you succumb to it, you’ll be happy on the other side of this earthly world. It won’t matter.

By the way, this is your life. Do you want to live it in fear and anxiety or being courageous and at peace? Your choice!

“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear.
Never fear what will become of you.”
Swami Vivekananda, 1895 talk in the U.S.

Your soul/ spirit/ essence, whatever you choose to call that wise part of you, is stronger than COVID. It has greater awareness and can guide you, if you listen.

You are not powerless with this virus. You’re not losing control.

“You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so.
For remember, fear doesn’t exist anywhere except in the mind.”
Dale Carnegie

How to be safe from COVID-19

1. Know you are stronger than a virus.
2. Make a decision! Say, “I choose not to contract the corona virus.” And mean it. Period.
3. Use common sense, like masks, social distancing and hand washing.
4. Trust you’ll be guided from within to be safe.

Here’s a technique I observed myself doing at the start of the pandemic.

Animals have a sixth sense about people and upcoming natural disasters. Bark or lick your hand? They intuitively know.

Bats use a type of radar to determine distance from objects.

Recently, when I’m around people, a sixth sense radar spontaneously activates in me. It’s like beams between others and myself bounce back and forth, back and forth, back and forth to sense if there is a COVID threat. If it didn’t feel right, I’d move to somewhere else. However, tuning in before I go places, I haven’t found myself in any attack zones.

If you’re in fear, you may not be able to pick up accurate messages. You’ll either doubt yourself or think everything is spooky.

It may take practice, but there’s no harm in experimenting with this technique. Plus, you’ll improve your ability to sense what other people are really thinking and feeling, too, beyond the words they say.

Enjoy using your imagination by seeing yourself safe, happy, at peace and anything else you desire.

So be it!

TIPS for today include:

  1. Realize you’re not a victim. You have control over your life with good use of your imagination.
  2. Only your thinking and imagination create fear. You have a choice to be in fear or not.
  3. Decide you won’t contract COVID.
  4. To be safe, tune into your environment first so you avoid COVID situations.
  5. Use your imagination to see yourself safe, happy, at peace and anything else you desire.

Are You Wasting Your Time?

“Life is a controllable thing.”
Neville,
Awakened Imagination

“I have no control over my life,” protested a workshop participant angrily. The implication that we have or can have control of our lives seemed preposterous and brought fierce resistance.

“My life is governed by this,” she indignantly proclaimed while holding the Metro bus schedule. “I have to be on time for the bus if I want to go anywhere, but I can’t control if the bus is late, early, or will show up at all.” The bus schedule is how she relates to much of life as she relies on public transportation.

Another participant chimed in firmly and gently. “To get control of your life, of your heart, and what you really want to do, you have to let go of the bus schedule. You are greater than the bus schedule. This is a metaphor for your life; it is ruled by time and when and if you can catch a bus rather than by what you really want.”

When asked at the beginning of the workshop about her heart’s desire she replied: “I don’t care. Why bother? What I want doesn’t matter, because I’m not going to get it anyway.”

One of the interactive workshop games disappointed her. As we had a half an hour left, she felt pressured and therefore unable to do the exercise. She felt we were running out of time.

Her life revolved largely about time… and her lack of self-worth.

She was so caught up in her whirlwind of fear regarding time that she couldn’t see that this was the issue holding her back from achieving or gaining clarity on what she wanted.

“The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.”
Albert Einstein

Life is a mirror. Little did I realize in that moment, as I watched this dear woman grapple with the “reality” of time, that this was the underlying issue that had saddened me all day. As I looked past the smoke and mirrors of a decision I made earlier, I realized that my pain stemmed from an underlying fear of wasting my time.

I worried that I might lose time if I made a mistake, as I felt I had done in the past, so I wanted to cut my losses with anything that looked as if I might be making an error in judgment.

However, everything is in divine order. Even if I made different decisions in the past, I would not be any further along than I am at this moment. Why? Because I needed the lessons I learned along the way to do what I am doing now.

We are where we are meant to be, and when we realize this at a deeper level, a great peace and understanding are felt.

Time is another form of separation, and it holds us back from living life fully. When we start to separate things into segments and compare ourselves to others or a fabricated timeline, we separate from our hearts and living in the present moment. It’s a facet of fear.

The movie “Sliding Doors”, starring Gwyneth Paltrow, demonstrated the What If scenario by playing out two timelines simultaneously. What if a character made a different choice at a given moment in time? The journey took a different route but the destination remained the same.

Quantum mechanics reveals that time can vary! Einstein postulated that time and distance are not fixed! Speed can remain the same even though distance and time change.

Einstein called the slowing of time due to motion time dilation.

v=d/t
velocity (speed) equals distance traveled divided by time

The PBS website from the show Nova on “Time Travel” states “the closer we came to traveling at the speed of light, the more time would slow down for us relative to someone not moving.”

When we consider that an inner light is at the essence of who we are, this statement becomes more intriguing.

Time is malleable.

I left a half an hour later than intended for a talk I gave. I needed the extra time to place hand outs on 50 chairs and organize other aspects of my presentation.

I knew if I used the mantra on the 45-minute drive, “I’m late; I’m late,” I would have been an emotional wreck by the time I arrived.

Instead, I told my chattering mind to repeat, “I have all the time I need.” When I got there, one of my clients who attended this group was available and very happy to assist me by doing all the busywork.

I had more than enough time.

Time isn’t fixed. Escape the miasma of your self-imposed concept of time in your life.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to re-evaluate one area of your life where you feel you do not have enough time. Look at it from a detached viewpoint of a wise friend and make a change to give yourself the gift of time.

With a zest for Life,

Virginia

The Cheshire Cat on Your Direction

April 23, 2019

May the Cheshire Cat inspire you to find clear direction.
