Wish Your Life Could Be Different?

August 22, 2022

Have you ever felt dissatisfied and wished your life could be different? That’s inevitable because life is always calling us to advance.

“Every living thing must continually seek for the enlargement of its life, because life, in the mere act of living, must increase itself.”

The Science of Getting Rich  by Wallace D. Wattles

Within every seed is a blueprint for growth on its journey from an atomic structure to maturity. Likewise, within you is planted your blueprint for increase — your success.

Curious about your blueprint of success?

Everyone’s idea of success is different.

For some, success is financial freedom to do whatever they want when they want. It could be to achieve a specific net worth in business or work.

For others, it’s a harmonious family, a companion or wonderful health.

After a life of being plagued by negative people or drama, the greatest success might not only be about enjoying physical things.

Success could include feeling peace and reveling in personal empowerment, to master one’s emotions and destiny, regardless of what’s happening in the world.

Your Soulgoals is an expression of your deepest, heartfelt desires. It’s unique to you, and it doesn’t matter if it fits anyone else’s image of success.

To birth success into reality, the first step is to gain clarity.

  • Take a few deep breaths and shift your focus to within.
  • Set an intention that ideas will come to you – now or later.
  • Ask what success means to you.
  • Be open to receive insights.
  • Write your answers because it’s more powerful than just thinking about them!

Let’s take this another step. What does Super Successful look like to you?

Once you allow yourself to see a bigger picture, here are other questions you can ask yourself:

  • What would it take for you to be Super Successful?
  • What’s holding you back?
  • What are steps you can take to be Super Successful?

Use your answers as a springboard to continue onto greater success, one step at a time.

Begin. The rest is easy.

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, who coined the word mastermind – accessing the energy created when two or more gather in harmony.

Your future holds limitless possibilities. Success can be yours.

Why not? Why not you? You deserve it!

Have fun. Think big.

What to Do When You’re at a Turning Point

August 2, 2021

This Soulgoal Missive was sent to my mailing list in 2002.

Keep your eyes and ears wide open – and your mouth closed, if you wish to acquire the habit of prompt decision.

Napoleon Hill,
Think and Grow Rich

I invited my girlfriend on a company trip I won. Having a choice of select resorts, I chose to be on a ten-ton houseboat on the Colorado River at the Nevada-Arizona border. We were fortunate that the boat malfunctioned immediately after departure, so we traded it in for a five-ton model.

Neither of us knew anything about boating, including how to read a mariner’s map.  All the squiggly lines representing the shoreline looked the same, so the map was no help.

To share how inexperienced we were, our boat floated away because we didn’t anchor it properly while visiting Hoover Dam. Someone caught and secured it in our absence. Our fun and memorable trip was filled with adventures like this.

While steering the boat, I watched aghast as I headed for a solid mass of land straight ahead.  I had to change direction quickly, but I couldn’t tell if the river turned to the right or left because the view was obscured.

The boat was big and heavy. I felt if I didn’t make my decision quickly, I never would have enough time to change course and would surely run into land.

Which way to go? It looked like the river turned left so I turned the boat in that direction. I was wrong; it was just a tiny inlet. If I thought I barely had time to turn the boat before, surely I would crash now. I quickly turned the wheel to go in the other direction… and had plenty of time to make the adjustment.

Over many years I’ve observed if I relax and trust this process, while prepared to act quickly if needed when the appropriate time comes, I make better decisions – without the panic and worry. I learned that if I am alert and in the moment, I have all the time I need to make a decision when the information comes.

Those who reach decisions promptly and definitely, know what they want, and generally get it.

Napoleon Hill,
Think and Grow Rich

Another incident occurred during my first television interview in my early twenties with a man seasoned in appearing on the media. He told me later that before speaking he always felt his inner juices begin to flow, but he didn’t feel them before that show.

However, as soon as I began to answer the commentator’s first question, his energy started to flow. Without this initial incentive to speak and knowing his experience, I probably would have let him do the talking, and he could have taken over the show.

I learnedwhen the time comes, we have what it takes to do what we have to do. The brain may want to be comforted that everything follows an order it thinks it should. However, the flow is there when we need it, not when we think we need it.

We were prepared to speak; after that it was a matter of trusting the process.

A third lesson came while on a road trip with a friend. We came to a fork in the road, a turning point. Rather than stop to determine where we needed to go, he arbitrarily chose a direction and proceeded to go the wrong way at 60 miles an hour. It took a while to escape the highway maze, return to where we started, and get on the right track.

I learned if I come to a fork in the road and don’t know where I’m going, stop and assess my options rather than blindly waste my time on a 50-50 guess.

Decisions. If we’re not attached to the way we want things to go or the way we think they should go, answers come in their own way and in their own time, especially when we are prepared and ready to act.

Lessons I learned:

  1. You have all the time you need to make an appropriate decision when you have the information.
  2. There is a flow to making decisions. When the timing is right the flow is there, and sometimes not a minute sooner.
  3. Be prepared to act quickly when the information comes.
  4. Rather than guessing, check your map or plan to see where you’re going. Take necessary steps to prepare.
  5. Relax and trust the process.

Your challenge, if you choose to accept, is to consider a decision you would like to make. Apply the above points to strategize how to make it and then relax with the process KNOWING that you will make the right decision at the right time.

With a zest for Life,
Virginia

Success Thought

When he approached a fork in the road, Robert Frost in his poem “The Road Not Taken” wrotethathe “looked down one as far as he could.”  Facing his decision of which way to go, he said:

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.”

Congrats to Carol Warkoczewski and How She Won the Luna Award!

August 27, 2019
Carol Warkoczewski speaking after receiving her Luna Award

The Luna Awards celebrate the achievements of women-owned businesses and advocates who promote and develop women at all levels in Architecture, Engineering and Construction.

The category of Outstanding Professional of the Year had eight nominees… and our Carol Warkoczewski won!

Nominees for the Luna Awards from San Antonio were recognized at the prestigious Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on August 23, 2019, with onstage congratulations offered by three councilwomen and an inspiring talk by the mayor’s wife, Erika Prosper.

Who is Carol Warkoczewski?

For those who may not be familiar with her, Carol is a Senior Architect for the City of San Antonio as well as the founder, Chief Vision Officer and board chair of I-LinCP, the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects.

Carol has received “Professional Recognition” in San Antonio Business Journal’s “People on the Move.”  Among other noteworthy mentions, she is a popular speaker, including appearances on the national stage of the American Institute of Architects’ conventions.

Why Carol Won

First, Carol deserves it! She exemplifies servant leadership, and people recognize her accomplishments and service.

She told me, “I was really happy to be nominated. They emphasized that being nominated for this award is because someone believes in you and that you exemplify that category. When I won, cheers went up, and a lot of people were supporting me – even though I didn’t know them.”

She felt happy and proud when a contractor in attendance told her, “I have a nine year old daughter, and it’s women like you who are examples for her.”

She added, “He said from his heart, ‘You absolutely deserve this. I’m so happy for you.'”

Why She Didn’t Panic When Time Seemed Against Her

“When I got the email that I had been nominated, I had to put together a packet for the application. At the same time, I was organizing a conference, and the due date for the application was Friday, the last day of the conference.

I didn’t panic; I thought I’d get it done.

“I had the faith and clarity that all is in divine order and timing and not to worry. It’s all going to be fine, and don’t panic.”

“Then the Luna committee pushed the deadline to Sunday, so I had the weekend to review the packet and have others review it for me, too.

Why Winning the Award Wasn’t a Surprise

I thought, “It would not surprise me if I won.”

During the time that Carol’s been coaching with me, since January 2000, she’s learned numerous manifesting techniques (that is, how to clarify what you want and attain it), which includes principles, perspectives, tools and how to use one’s imagination and visualize.

“I saw myself on stage. I just felt I was going to win.”

Additionally, she implemented, with a partner, an ancient method called masterminding.

In masterminding, a word coined by Napoleon Hill, author of the classic book Think and Grow Rich, an energy is created when two or more gather in harmony for a specific purpose. This mastermind energy can and does manifest goals, often beyond our wildest imagination.

In fact, Carol developed the idea for I-LinCP, which now has grown to four chapters in Texas, during the time she was on a mastermind team in 2009.

When we received a text a few hours after Carol’s win, her partner replied, “Just like we masterminded!!! Knew it! Awesome. And so be it!”

Carol will join other awardees at the 13th Annual Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RCHA)’s Women in Architecture, Engineering & Construction Business Conference & Luna Awards Luncheon in Dallas/Fort Worth on Thursday, October 31, 2019, where the winners have been given a night’s stay at the Omni Hotel.

What Would It Take To Be Super Successful?

Successful Woman

Have you ever felt dissatisfied and wished your life could be different? That’s inevitable because life is always calling us to advance.

TIP: Overcome Fear Like an Olympian

August 16, 2016
 key - fearless3
We’ve been wowed by dreams coming true for Olympian glory. Just ask David Boudia from Abilene, Texas, who won the gold for diving in 2012.

Last week, he interviewed with an Indianapolis Star reporter and shared insights about what “separates your cream of the crop Olympians to the ones who don’t make it as far.”

The difference, he said, is understanding and respecting fear.

Initially, anyone would be terrified of diving head first into the water, and Boudia was no exception as a kid.

“I worked hard mentally to approach it so I was able to control my thoughts a little better. To be able to understand how to visualize it and see it in my head.”

He drew stick figures to be able to see his success and overcome his fears.

Let’s consider one way that fear affects the brain.

The striatum is a part of your brain that works like muscle memory. It operates on autopilot – an emotional and mental default program that reacts the same way over and over again.

For example:

Do you have a tendency to respond repeatedly to situations with anger and frustration or by seeing the silver lining?

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Do you think what if things don’t work out or what if they do?

Is fear something to be avoided at all cost or befriended?

Your responses comprise some of your automatic programs.

According to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, athletes train their amygdala, the memory center of the brain, to make the connection of stress with success, and they don’t even consider failure.

The amygdala is the integrative center for emotions, emotional behavior, and motivation.

To be richly compensated doing what you love involves creating a vortex of energy where you are a magnet of success.

Connecting the dots, when you’ve trained your brain and emotions for success, you attract it.

Masterminders meet to focus attention on their goals as they align with a field of mastermind energy that can and does manifest goals they choose or something better.

This fun and consistent practice creates a perspective of success which becomes muscle memory for the brain.

The mastermind experience of seeing and feeling success rewires the brain to attract miracles and successes.

Mastermind energy aligns you in a zone where everything works out for you, regardless of how it appears.

It’s like someone falling in a mud puddle and finding a $100 bill.

Masterminding is brain training that puts the kibosh on limiting beliefs butting in about why you can’t do what you love and make your dreams come true.

Napoleon Hill, author of the classic Think and Grow Rich, describes the mastermind.

When two or more people coordinate in a spirit of HARMONY, and work toward a definite objective, they place themselves in position, through that alliance, to absorb power directly from the great universal storehouse of Infinite Intelligence. This is the greatest of all sources of POWER. It is the source to which the genius turns. It is the source to which every great leader turns, (whether he may be conscious of the fact or not).

It’s with our great enthusiasm and caring for others to be free, have fun and live fruitful lives that our masterminders will meet on Sunday afternoon, August 28, to share tips and stories for you to see and feel how your dreams can come true.

More details about Free, Fun & Fruitful are included after the TIP.

Your TIP is to know that you deserve a life of inner and outer freedom where you look forward with happy anticipation of another wonderful day.

You deserve not to worry and be free of fear, which is simply a learned response.

How do I know this? Everyone deserves it, and that includes YOU!

As you wake up, begin by looking for the goodness in your life.

Choose to break any habit you may have of looking for yesterday’s problems to start your day and regurgitating them into the present.

Recognize any challenges you have, but put fear in perspective.

In doing this, you’ll attract Olympic gold in YOUR life.

To fortify your best intentions, join us on Sunday, August 28th for Free, Fun and Fruitful.

TIP: A Shortcut to Success

March 16, 2016

ford-and-edison

Thomas Edison & Henry Ford

Be sure to scroll to the bottom about a time-sensitive opening.

Would you love to benefit from a phenomenal shortcut that boosts creativity and success and has been used regularly by icons like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, J.R.R. Tolkien and Bill Gates?

I just got off a Mastermind Success Team call with graduates from my Resolved for Results program. This is not your typical mastermind team of brainstorming and accountability.

Our intention is to use our clarity and focus to tap into a vortex of energy that manifests success surpassing our wildest dreams.

Those on this morning’s call with their new team are movers and shakers in diverse industries… and the vortex of dynamic energy we created was palpable, filled with respect and appreciation for each other as we shared this remarkable experience together. You’ll read their comments in a moment.

First, if you’re wondering what I mean by masterminding, here’s an excerpt from my program Resolved for Results: A Step-by-Step Guide to Do What You Love… even if you failed before, lost hope, are afraid, stressed or confused.

Napoleon Hill introduced the term masterminding in the early 1900s in his classic book Think and Grow Rich as ‘the coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose... No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force,  which may be likened to a third mind.

“You’ve heard how most people use 10% or less of their brain. Similarly, you only require less than 10% of your spirit to function in your daily life.

Masterminding invokes the soul, which is 100% of your spirit, to assist you to design a life of your choice.  Multiply this by the number of people in a harmonious mastermind group and place the Prime Creator at the center.

This is the mastermind energy.  ….  It’s no surprise, then, that the mastermind creates results beyond what you can do using just 10% or less of ordinary thinking and effort.”

Here are a few comments resulting from bathing in the vortex of mastermind energy this morning. If you tune into the energy behind the words, it can lift you out of feeling stuck and into creative power where you allow yourself to be richly compensated doing what you love:

  • I could feel and see my goals happening. I got a boost of energy and confidence to say, “Yes. Fulfilling my dream is right and the right time to do this.” I’m speechless. It’s an amazing feeling.
  • Business can be a struggle because of the drama created that’s part of my industry. It’s natural for me now to create the business volume I choose with certainty and joy.
  • Love the small, intimate group with people who have a personal foundation which includes dignity, grace, professionalism and an intention of getting things done. It makes our time on the call very efficient with a minimum of fluff.
  • Knowing other people believe in me gives me confidence to move forward. Here I go. Taking a big step together makes it easier. I’m not so alone.
  • We can manifest our dreams and turn them into reality – it’s up to us.

TIP: A Shortcut to Success

For you to create greater success in your business and life requires your focused attention and what I call “good feeling mojo.” Good energy creates success!

Your thoughts and feelings magnetize results… positive or negative. If you’re wondering what you’re attracting, look around you. If you’re frustrated, depressed, worried, stressed, afraid or wondering how you’re going to do something, your world will reflect that and bring you more reasons to feel the way you do.

When your attention is on what’s working, the positive image of where you’re going and the good feelings it creates opens you to success quickly and with grace and ease.

Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Form or find a mastermind group of two or more people to gain clarity and focus on turning your cherished dreams and goals to reality.

Isn’t it time you received effective supportive energy to help you get what you really, really want?

A new Resolved for Results mastermind team starts next week, and we have two openings for you and/or your friends. The program also includes a personal Belief Release session as a bonus!

If you know people who might be interested in raising their business or creative expression to a higher level and transforming their lives, please forward this email to them.

TIP: 3 Questions to Raise Your Bar in 2016

February 23, 2016

Raise your standards

A few days ago, Raise Your Bar in 2016 was the theme for a mastermind group I facilitated.

Later, a team member called to say that the meeting was exalted. “I felt like I elevated 3′ or so.”

Having only thought about this word at Christmas, I asked what she meant. She texted a Merriam-Webster definition. Exalt: to raise (someone or something) to a higher level; to praise (someone or something) highly; to present (something) in a way that is very favorable or too favorable.

When:

  •  you’re inspired
  •  you see yourself succeeding
  •  you believe you have and can do what it takes
  •  you feel the energy move within you
  •  you have a plan of action
  •  you know there’s a team of people around you who give you unconditional love
  •  you feel their support…

Then:

  • you’re open to receive success
  • you’re motivated to take effective action
  • you’re in the right place at the right time
  • you enjoy your road to victory
  • you (finally) achieve results in your business and life for which you’ve longed.

A large part of her feeling elevated came from the mastermind energy.

To explain what I mean, here’s an excerpt from the manual of my program Resolved for Results: A Step-by-Step Guide to Live Your Dreams… even if you failed before, lost hope, are afraid, stressed or confused.

“Napoleon Hill introduced the term masterminding in the early 1900s in his classic book Think and Grow Rich as: ‘the coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose.’

“How does this work?

“‘No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.'”

You can get results working alone. However, when you tap into a vortex of positive energy when two or more are gathered together in harmony and intentional purpose, miracles and successes blossom like spring flowers.

TIP: 3 Questions to Raise Your Bar in 2016

Would you enjoy an exalted business and life?

Answer these questions to put you on a trajectory of success. Writing by hand versus just thinking about the answers allows for more insights and ideas to emerge.

1. What would raising your bar for your business and life in 2016 look like?

2. What would have to occur to allow this?

3. What do you need to release for this to happen?

What to do next?

  • Schedule your actionable ideas on your calendar.
  • Set an intention to implement them.
  • Find positive partners or a team to discuss your answers, provide weekly support for you to be accountable and encourage you to either stay on track or course correct, if necessary.
  • Let go of what’s holding you back using any release techniques that have worked for you.

Believe that life is working in your favor… because it is!

NEED BUSINESS? MORE MONEY? – PART 3

June 16, 2011

Life is energy and consists of frequencies. When you see the best in and for others and treat them that way, you help them broaden their perspective and see a positive image of themselves. This lightens their energy which attracts better results.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, 19th century German Renaissance man and writer said, ‘Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them to become what they are capable of being.”

Higher frequencies, such as those created with empowering pictures and feelings, magnetize similar energies. When you recognize your unlimited potential and feel anything is possible, illusions of limitation and fear dissipate like the morning fog.

Others can give you the same gift.

From the Resolved for Results Course

Masterminding is ancient

Napoleon Hill popularized the term masterminding in the early 1900s in his classic book Think and Grow Rich.  However, it’s been used throughout the ages from Jesus and his disciples to Bill Gates and Paul Allen who created Microsoft.

At its core, masterminding is the coordination of knowledge and focused attention born from people gathering together in the spirit of harmony with an intention to serve a definite purpose.

Benjamin Franklin formed a mastermind group called the Junto in 1727.  The results? Our first:

  • Library
  • Volunteer fire department
  • Police department
  • Public hospital
  • Paved streets
  • And the Universityof Pennsylvania.

I consciously began masterminding in 1995 when I facilitated my first success team which used support, brainstorming and accountability. It worked. However, when people didn’t do what they agreed to, their issues soared as their self-confidence nose-dived.

I discovered that when people move forward in the direction of their dreams, they run into the beliefs that hold them back. If they don’t have a crowbar to get out of the crash, they get stuck there.

Can masterminding impede success?

Manifesting works best when feeling self-confident, deserving of success and believing you can do it. But when I watched a college professor shrivel and slump like an eight year old on her own sofa in her own home because she didn’t complete her assignments, I realized why she limited her results.

Over the years, I observed this phenomena countless times. I knew there had to be a way to bypass the emotional sinkholes that people fell into.

The way was revealed to me at a time when I was stuck and DETERMINED to overhaul my life.  I was resolved to change my income, my business, my weight, my house, the struggle, everything – I had had enough. Oh yeah, and I was ready to have more fun, too!

I needed new tools to build a new world for myself.

I didn’t need brainstorming (although it helped) only to be discouraged when things didn’t work out the way we discussed (which seemed to be my norm).

I didn’t need accountability (although it’s a great tool) because an idea often nudged me to actions other than ones I committed to. As I didn’t know where my guidance would take me, I felt that following it was avoiding action I agreed to do. And when I didn’t meet my commitments, I felt like I failed.

I needed to trust myself, see myself succeeding and feel empowered so I could accomplish my goals. It didn’t matter if I worked my plan successfully as long as I felt I could do it and took action. Then, if plan A didn’t work, I’d make up plan X, Y or Z. I’d find a way.

I called a friend, shared my discoveries and asked if she would start masterminding with me immediately. I was desperate for results.

Miracles happened.

  • A retreat facility drastically moved up a deadline and asked for a room commitment in two weeks.  I hadn’t even announced it yet. Instead of giving up, I asked a group to mastermind via teleconference. The retreat not only filled but was one of the best events I’ve had the honor to facilitate. In doing so, I realized great results come from group masterminding by phone.
  • I released 11# of weight in five weeks.
  • When I shared the idea with others, they wanted to experience it – so business took off for them and me.
  • Projects I’d been putting off for years got done.
  • Life once again became fun.

I realized I was top dog instead of being wagged by the tail.

While there are many types of masterminding, and some are similar to what we now do, this was my journey of discovery of a system that emerged. I call it Resolved for Results because that’s exactly what I was – resolved. As I began to share it with others, a structured program, including a 240 page success manual, evolved that people could depend on to bring results when they used the system.

Here’s what I found.

Creating a word picture where someone can SEE and FEEL their goal, as if they’re living it now, shifts their attitude to possibilities. Action is created through enthusiasm, vision and belief in themselves and their goals. By recognizing their essential connection with their own divinity and uprooting limiting beliefs, they create results with grace and ease that go beyond their wildest expectations

Many mastermind groups use a set of principles. Resolved for Results has its roots in seven beliefs. For example, #7 is “I am grateful which changes my attitude and opens me up to bigger and better things.”

Now it’s your turn to mastermind for results.

Ask someone you trust to mastermind with the purpose of both of you achieving your goals.

In Part 2, you learned how to choose a goal. Now’s the time you’ll need it.

Have fun with this streamlined version of Resolved for Results masterminding:

  • Say to a partner: “I choose and am willing to receive this or something better:” Then state your goal.
  • The partner responds: Your name, I support your choices, and I see you… then expand the goal by painting a word picture.
  • End the masterminding by saying “So be it.”
  • Say thank you to acknowledge the gift that was given and share how you benefitted from it.
  • Reverse roles.
  • Repeat regularly for best results.

While it’s extremely powerful to mastermind with another person, you can mastermind with God, your guardian angel or anyone on the other side. If you’re a scientist, Einstein would make a great partner!

Groups are forming now – in Austin and by teleconference.

On that note, I’m currently enjoying adventures of my own.

Although I won’t post my blog for a couple of weeks, I’ll be available by email.
