Is This a Turning Point in Your Life?

May 1, 2023

Once upon a time there was a farmer named Sei Weng who had one horse and one son. One day the horse wandered away, and the neighbors commented that this was unfortunate. The farmer replied, “How do you know it’s bad luck?”

Soon after the horse returned bringing several wild mares with him. The neighbors congratulated him on his good luck. Ah, what lovely, strong horses! However, the farmer responded by saying, “How do you know it’s good luck?”

The son was thrown while riding one of the wild horses and broke his leg. His neighbors once again commented on how sorry they were for his bad luck, at which the farmer said, “Good luck, bad luck. Who knows?”

A war came, and every able-bodied man was conscripted into the military and sent into battle. Because he had a broken leg, the old man’s son didn’t have to go to war. The neighbors were excited about his good fortune, but the farmer remarked, “Is it good or is it bad?”

Another version of this folktale concludes with, “That’s the way it is.” Another says that fortune turns to misfortune, and misfortune to fortune. There is no end to changes, and the mystery can’t be known.

Because the farmer was emotionally detached and didn’t go along with everyone’s thinking, he was able to see a bigger picture.

Life presents both challenges and blessings. Your perspective determines how they affect you and your ability to make your dreams come true and live your best life.

According to the Chaos Theory our lives are always in chaos, and this is what opens us to fresh forms and possibilities.

When we reach what is called a “bi-furcation point,” a “point of departure” takes place, and a “self-organization out of chaos” occurs.

In other words, events that serve as turning points create a new order and structure.

Instead of adversely reacting to circumstances that seem bad, consider they may be a portal to something greater than you currently can imagine.

A messy divorce may be a ticket to personal empowerment and overcoming fear.

Challenging health, work, family or relationship issues, the loss or lack of worldly goods or money, or pain may be what cracks the shell to allow humility and what’s truly important to be seen… and the impetus to get real or pursue one’s dreams.

You can choose your perspective. Look deeper.

No matter how it appears, things change. The highs become lows or ordinary.

Regardless of how frustrated or hopeless aspects of your life may seem, this too shall pass… into something better if you allow yourself to see.

Trying Hard to Make Things Happen? Is It Working? There is an easier way.

November 7, 2022

Stop trying. Relax and be open to receive.

Have you noticed that when you:

  • push to make things happen
  • try hard to get something
  • have to have things work out in a certain way
  • feel desperate or discouraged
  • get frustrated if things don’t work out the way they should…

…what you want eludes you or is hard to get?

Other times, often when you casually say you want something, it appears effortlessly.

If a door opens that allows things to come to you, pushing against it only closes your ability to be open to receive.

The same principle applies to creating your ideal life, business and work, too.

If someone is chasing you for business, to be their friend or lover, to give them more time with you than you’re willing to share, what are you inspired to do?

If their energy is intense, needy, negative or draining, what do you want to do?

Run. Far away.

Your dreams and goals are here, now, waiting for you.
Don’t  chase them. Be willing and open to receive them or something better.

Amidst a sea of people at a month-long, holiday event held on six acres, I found myself face to face with a former client. I’d been thinking about reconnecting with her as we hadn’t talked for a couple of years.

We enjoyed catching up by phone the following day. At the end of our conversation, she inquired about my current business offerings. Poised to launch a new, career direction, she was ready to let go of limiting beliefs that could hold her back.

She’ll start her coaching program with me this month.

Right place. Right time. Right energy. In the flow. Great results.

No struggle. No trying. Being a magnet for intentions and good things by relaxing and being open to receive.

Note: this is 180 opposite from worrying about “What if things don’t work out?”

Life is magical when we allow it.

We’ve been trained to think no pain, no gain. Do more. Work harder.

Yes, actions do produce results. Inspired action. Not action based on fear, loss or neediness.

Releasing is one of the highest and most effective actions. This means letting go of anxiety, doubt and fear as well as other limiting thoughts and emotions.

Think tuning fork emitting a vibration. This frequency naturally harmonizes with complementary notes.

Relaxing and trusting open us to inspired action which allows success to occur naturally.

Your action has nothing to do with your abundance! Your abundance is a response to your vibration. Of course, your belief is part of your vibration. So if you believe that action is part of what brings your abundance, then you’ve got to unravel that.

Where’s the Refresh Button for Your Life?

March 21, 2022

Wish you could redo parts of your life?

  • Have regrets?
  • Feel bad about past choices or what others did?
  • Discouraged, stuck or frustrated about things that haven’t been working?
  • Holding on to beliefs about how you think life, others or you should be?
  • What (or who) have you outgrown?

Do you sometimes wish that a genie would appear and magic wand away your fears, painful memories and thoughts, past actions and choices? If only you knew then what you know now.

Perhaps you only need a change in attitude or perspective.
Another viewpoint can give you insights and direction.
Your next steps of what to do are always accessible.
Listen to your gut feelings and the quiet voice within.
Your answers will be revealed in divine right timing.
Your refresh button is within you.

By the way, don’t think you’ve got to see the big picture and know all the pieces before taking action. You can start where you are and with what you know right now.

You can make change easy on yourself by using these five steps:

  1. Be willing to consider a change. Willingness opens you to possibilities even if you’re not ready to commit to a change. This includes a change in attitude and the way you’ve always done things.
  2. Take consistent action in your new direction. If you were to make a change, what action would you take? Do it. Then tune in to the next step and do that. Step-at-a-time is perfect – no pushing or rushing.
  3. Get support from a friend or coach. Discussing possibilities and being heard can be powerful steps to clarity, action and change. Don’t listen to the naysayers, including that negative voice in your head.
  4. Choose that the change and lessons learned be gentle. If you believe change is hard, it is. There are people who remain positive in the face of disaster. Set an intention to make changes with ease and grace.
  5. Breathe your way through it. Breathing deeply in a relaxed way puts you in divine flow instead of the flow of fear.

You can hit the refresh button of your life, and it will refresh if you are open to receive! How? Choose it.

Does this sound ridiculous? Impossible? Although it may seem farfetched at the moment that you making a choice could do anything, consider that you are that powerful! When you choose from your very Essence, not your doubting, weak, negative ego, so-called miracles can occur!

Experiment. Take a breath. Ask for… whatever you choose. Answers come in divine right timing.

Here’s a key. Open yourself to receive. If you resist that possibility, you close the door.

Give yourself a gift of a new beginning. Refresh your life. You have the power within to create positive changes with ease and grace and no drama.

What Do You Do? Follow or Be Courageous?

November 1, 2021

“Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

“I’m the man of the house (although he didn’t act like a responsible one, financially or otherwise), and you need to follow me and support me in everything I do.”

However, she wasn’t considered by him to be a good wife because she started to say no.

In the end, she lost her house that she bought before she married, lost her car, lost her savings, nearly lost her mind, plus the police showed up so often that they knew her by name – because when she disagreed, the beatings would begin.

For him, it was a personal affront that she wouldn’t agree with him.

She told me, “I was brought up to be compliant with my husband.
But he was an idiot, and the results proved it. He was misogynistic and would never take any advice – but instead would do the opposite.

“I was going in two different directions. How can you follow someone if they’re taking you to a dead end, and all the time you know that direction is wrong?

“Even a rat has enough sense to jump off a sinking ship. I had to leave the relationship. I had to save my life.”

Just because people you “should” believe say something, demand your obedience to follow, repeatedly lie to fit their own purpose but call it the truth, doesn’t make it true.

The good news. If it weren’t for him, she never would have the clarity she has now to speak her truth, especially in a male-dominated industry where she works.

Her ex trained her to no longer be a wimp and not value others’ reactions more than trusting herself.

She knew better. But she allowed herself to be bullied by someone who was metaphorically blind and demanded unreasonable loyalty.

Eventually, she allowed herself to act on what she knew, what she had the courage to honestly see, and leave him.

Sounds crazy? You think you wouldn’t do something like that?

This is what belief systems can do. If a person believes something, even though the belief is false or doesn’t make sense or can be harmful, people often stick with it.

Her belief was she was taught to be compliant to her husband. See where that belief brought her?

While in my twenties and in a horrific marriage, I had a dream. For months later, although I couldn’t understand its significance at the time, I put its quote on my dresser.

FIND THE HEART AND RESCUE IT.

Friend, what do you see? Is there something in your life where you know better, you’re ignoring it, but you’re following obediently or blindly anyway?

Courage. You can allow yourself to know what you know. Call it for what it is, even if only to yourself.

DON’T GIVE AWAY YOUR POWER.

  • Think for yourself, not what others tell you or what you read on the internet.  If what you firmly believe in is showing cracks and not working like you thought it should, reconsider.
  • See, and then take action according to what your gut and heart tell you, along with your logic, instead of what others say you should feel or do or be.

You may discover your personal honesty is the inevitable route to freedom.

“Speak what you think today in hard words and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said today.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Is Your Old Comfort Zone No Longer Comfortable? Ready for better?

June 21, 2021
Looking at the sky through a canopy of leaves while lying down.

Parts of your life can be comfortable, and you’d like some things to stay as they are or were. Maybe it wasn’t perfect, but it was familiar.

However, life doesn’t always work this way.

Then things changed.

Why couldn’t others change their ways and leave you alone?

That’s what I felt on a beautiful morning while lying on a blanket nestled in a grove of trees, next to a pond, looking at the sky through a canopy of leaves. A gentle breeze was blowing. Ahh, tranquil, exquisite peace. Perfect.

Several minutes passed and then…slap. Something got on my arm. No problem. Back to looking at the sky through the leaves.

Ouch. What was that? It’s okay. What a lovely day!

Gosh darn it. That one bit me. Then another.

Baby ants. Maybe I’m on an ant pile.

Nope. There’s an ant path under the blanket by my feet, but I’m not blocking it, I thought.

Well, they had another opinion and kept pestering me until I had to move.

I didn’t want to change my spot because it was ideal with no rocks, twigs or tall grass.

With the passing of time, though, the Texas heat had escalated. Not finding another suitable location, I realized it was time to move on.

Regardless of what I thought they could do, I had to move. I had to change, not them.

That’s how life is sometimes. We get in our comfort zone and don’t want to move. But some cycles run their course, and it’s easier to change (or should I say potentially more painful to stay) even though we might not feel like it.

Do you need to move on from one of your old comfort zones?

Is it time to let go of someone or something or a belief you’re holding onto that’s no longer serving you?

Do you want others or circumstances to change so you can stay the same?

Whatever normal was, it no longer is.

Maybe it’s time to move on to, even though you may not be able to see it now, something even better!

Feel Like There’s No Way Out? These 4 Pointers Can Guide You.

January 25, 2021

Once I had a dream where I was in a room with no windows or doors and seemingly no way out.  I searched the walls for a way to leave, but there wasn’t any.

Then I discovered that there was a stairway in the middle of the room that took me to a higher level, and that room was filled with lots of windows, doors and light.

Albert Einstein is paraphrased to have said:

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

Feeling stuck in a maze is an emotional response that can leave you feeling there’s no way out. Instead, you can find a way to untangle yourself from whatever has gotten you balled up and take productive action. Here are four pointers that can help:

1. You’re frustrated because you’re trying to control the outcome by expecting it (or people) to be or act the way you think it should.

Alternative:  Relax and anticipate this or something better will occur. Stop trying to micromanage the world. This opens you to tune into new ideas and directions.

2. You’re beating yourself up with fear, worry, regrets or other limiting thoughts and emotions because of your situation.

Alternative: Release judging you, others and your circumstances. Replace it with an empowering perspective that you’re learning, and all is in divine order and timing.

3. You’re focused on what’s not working.

Alternative: Focus on what you choose and the good feeling mojo it creates. Good feeling mojo is what opens you to manifest more quickly and with grace and ease.

4. You’re pushing to make things happen.

Alternative: Stop resisting (and exhausting yourself about) what is and allow things to be the way they are. You getting fussy about it won’t change it or help. Let go. Let God. Set new goals for what you choose. Then take action from this perspective.

When you shift your energy, you allow life to create miracles and successes beyond your wildest expectations, and the way out appears… even if it starts out with one step at a time.

LisaBeth “LB” Thomas on the Front Page!

December 1, 2020

Journal Profile: LisaBeth Thomas is a behind-the-scenes star

TV producer celebrates decade as co-founder of Texas Women in Business

LisaBeth Thomas at her favorite Austin restaurant, Chinatown. It’s also where the group she co-founded 10 years ago, Texas Women in Business, first met. To Thomas’ surprise, 157 people showed up for the first meeting:
ARNOLD WELLS / ABJ

I’ve been privileged to coach LisaBeth “LB” Thomas for over 10 years. While she’s always been dynamic, I’ve watch her grow through extraordinarily challenging times.

Within four months, she lost her 14-year business along with her house where her children grew up, and her mom passed away. Although she was homeless as well as financially and emotionally devastated, these experiences planted the seeds that later created her metamorphosis.

In the midst of other accomplishments, this year she harvested one of the fruits that grew from the soil of those hard times — her online course called Outwitting Fear. www.outwittingfear.com

While celebrating 10 years as a co-founder and current Austin chapter president of Texas Women in Business (TWIB), this month she was profiled on the front page of the Austin Business Journal.

When I interviewed her for this blog post, LisaBeth offered these kind words:

“Virginia, you’ve helped me get through these challenges and encouraged me to transform what I’ve learned to impact the world.

“Thank you. As my coach and friend for over 10 years, you’ve seen me through even when, after so many losses, I didn’t see the light at the end of many tunnels. I did the work, but you walked me through.”

“Let people know that they can get through their challenges, too.

“Source is our source.”

I’ve taken her online course, and I LOVE it!  Outwitting Fear is a great value, too, because the process can be used repeatedly whenever challenges arise. We can discover and release core fears behind what’s holding us back.

From her website: “I want everyone to find freedom from fear as I did. So that they can have the life and success, and the opportunity to fulfill your dreams, the ones you’ve always had.”

This is how it begins:

By Patricia Rogers – Research Director, Austin Business Journal
Nov 5, 2020, 8:47am EST

A lot can happen in 10 years — just ask LisaBeth Thomas.

A decade ago, Thomas’s career as a film and video producer was in high gear. Her credits included a wide swath of work from movies like “Hope Floats” to TV shows “Real Life with Gerald Mann,” plus commercials like a campaign celebrating the 20th anniversary of Amy’s Ice Creams.

Referrals, such as from GSD&M to produce Anheuser-Busch commercials for the Keep Texas Beautiful recycling campaign, fueled growth that turned her little Austin production company, LBTJ, into a seven-figure agency handling everything from marketing to media buys.

But of her creations, she is most proud of being one of the original five founders of Texas Women in Business, a nonprofit women’s group dedicated to fostering personal and professional growth along with pooling resources to give back to the community through philanthropy. The group celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2020.

“[We] took the idea to 20 of our friends, and from there it grew to Houston and Lubbock — and 10 years later, we’re still here,” said Thomas, who is once again leading the charge as chapter president during its anniversary year. Collectively, the Austin chapter has donated more than $40,000 since its start.

For this special year, TWIB has partnered with the governor’s office and women’s groups across the state to create an awareness campaign and fundraiser to help fight human trafficking. The “Not On Our Watch|TX” campaign will culminate with an event at the Texas State Capitol next June.

Thomas is also rebuilding her life and her business after a 2015 divorce forced her to shutter the company and sell her home. Her mother also died around the same time, leaving LB — as Thomas is called by friends — devastated, homeless and jobless. She recalls keeping it all to herself and how liberating it was when she finally opened up about her struggles to the TWIB faithful and faced her fears.

“My identity was completely tied to the business, so I thought their love and respect for me was because of the business,” Thomas said. As she worked through her own insecurities, Thomas began to understand how much unconscious fears had sabotaged her and influenced her actions. Thomas has taken what she has learned from her own journey and turned it into a motivational program to help others called Outwitting Fear.

Now, Thomas sees herself as a corporate dropout, preferring instead to pursue opportunities on her own. Thomas is producing again. She calls herself The Big Cheese and her new production company is called Big Cheese TV.

What productions are you working on now? Right now, I’m working with a technology company and we are creating the first “shoppable” hunting and fishing show. You literally can watch the video and click any item you see and are able to read about it or buy it right then. It is very cool.

What are your three favorite productions you had a hand in? “Hope Floats” with Sandra Bullock. Montana Rib & Chop House, we flew Pat Green up to Montana to shoot the commercial — so fun. Grand Roatan Caribbean Resort, we shot Conni Reed of Consuela at the resort. She was being photographed for the cover of Austin Woman Magazine so we did some behind-the-scenes footage and also created commercials and videos for the resort while we were at it.

I have to add a fourth. We produced all of Amy’s Ice Creams 20th anniversary commercials and we had a blast.

What do you like most about your career? I love producing. I have a gift of seeing what’s in the client’s head and creating a film strip in my mind and then bringing it to life.

What has helped or hindered your career? Creating long-lasting relationships has been instrumental. What hindered me is thinking I could do it all. So, when my husband/partner and I divorced, I should’ve gotten someone to handle the operations and let me do what I do best. I thought I could do it all and that impacted my creativity.

What inspires you? Seeing people go for it. We all have setbacks, but what inspires me is when someone turns that setback into something life changing for them or for others. Or when they face their fears or hurts, that’s when you heal.

How would you describe your management style? Making sure everyone feels valuable and what they say or do matters.

How do you start your day? A cup of French-pressed coffee, about 15 minutes by myself in the courtyard then David and I do devotions. Even if I’m traveling, we call and do them together.

Gratitude Creates Good Feeling Mojo…plus great quotes from Willie Nelson to Buddha

November 23, 2020

Whatever you focus on grows. So that you don’t blow to smithereens your good feeling mojo, let’s start where the land mines are buried.

If good feeling mojo was your lover, would the following inspire your sweetheart to run to you with gifts of money, love and health or get blasted back to an undesirable past?

  • Fussing up because people are idiots, things are complicated and your career or business deals aren’t working… again.
  • Wanting money but complaining that the system is rigged so it’s hard to get.
  • Can’t figure out why God has broken His promise to you because of what’s happened.
  • Feeling worried until you get the next doctor’s report.
  • Thinking repeatedly about how someone has done you wrong.
  • Looking for satisfaction while blaming, complaining or things being infuriating.

Money, love and health aren’t found on the pity pot vibe. (Oh, and I’ve unsuccessfully tried so hard to be saved from mine.)

Misery loves company. Regardless of what you say you want, if you’re sending silent messages of struggle, suffering and sadness, your energy would bring you more of the same… more of what you feel but don’t want.

If your business or life mirror a Looney Tunes episode, don’t look for the bogey man. Instead, start with good feeling mojo every day.

You can change how you feel by changing your perspective.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
Oprah Winfrey

Once, when my life had fallen apart, I couldn’t feel grateful about anything.
I was separated, depressed, and in no mood to focus on business.

Gratitude. Interesting concept. The end.

However, I heard a story about someone who went through hard times, and being grateful was her magic key. She climbed out of the hole she was in, got a great job, new friends and turned her life completely around.

Hmmm, okay. I decided to give it a try with no clue of where to begin.

Suddenly, lost in thought about “woe is me” while walking through a greenbelt at dusk, I snapped out of my trance.

Stories from the news popped in my head about snipers on roof tops in a war torn country. They killed people who had to run across an open space to get water.

But I had zero concern about my physical safety. I had basic needs. Water. No bullets or bombs threatened me. Roof over my head. AC when it’s hot and heat when it’s cold. I was alive. There was so much to appreciate, however I didn’t see it because I was looking in the wrong direction.

I woke up to gratitude and the blessings of how people were there for me. Even though much wasn’t working, a lot was. So I redirected my focus to where I could find gratitude. I began to feel better. As I did, my life got better, too.

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.”
Willie Nelson

If you’re looking for an abundance of business, money, love, support or health,
focusing on what’s working will bring you more of what’s working.

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”
Eckhart Tolle

TIP: Gratitude Creates Good Feeling Mojo

Especially  during this time of giving thanks, take time to reflect on what you’re grateful for. The more you’re grateful, the more good feeling mojo you create. The more good feeling mojo you have, the more success you experience.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”
Buddha

Need Answers? Here’s How to Get Them.

June 9, 2020

During this time of challenges and changes, we can start to question. What’s happening to my life and the world? Am I on the right track? So many choices… what should I do?  Is there something for me to contribute, especially amidst such universal unrest? Is there a higher perspective to make sense of it all?

There are as many answers and opinions as there are people.

A key to life, though, is being able to listen to your Self – not your outer swirl of emotions or trying to fit into to others’ ideas about how you should live your life.

There is a way to be empowered by finding your own answers. The more you practice listening to your Self, the better you’re able to hear with clarity.

Here’s a repost from a Soulgoals’ Archive, April 29, 2011, that may help.

When something went wrong, my old response was to gasp and think: “Oh no. What am I going to do? I don’t know what to do.” I’d repeat it again and again – but I didn’t even realize I was saying it.

Next came the sickish anxiety in my gut. Fear clutched me like tentacles from a sci-fi film. Solutions had no way to penetrate that thick gunk of worry.

One afternoon, I discovered that I went over a credit card limit that day. All I could think about were the fees, marks on my credit report and a higher interest rate.

I noticed a broken record playing in my head. What was it? “What am I going to do? I don’t know what to do.”

Funny how that mantra sounded like my mother!

When I heard it, I changed my tune.

I said to myself, “There’s a part of me that doesn’t have a clue about what to do. There’s another part that knows. I ask my wise self to pop in an answer.”

I Got What I Asked For

After my request, I relaxed, let the situation go, and left for an appointment. As I walked to my car after my meeting, an idea popped in my head. Drive straight to the bank and pay the overage before the end of the business day.

When I did and the bank heard my concern, they also extended my credit limit. Problem solved; benefits gained.

Learning to relax and trust that all will be taken care of, no matter what, helps to wash away the goo of confusion. After all, if God takes care of the flowers and birds, surely you and I rate, too. But what about getting answers?

A theme found in several Biblical references offers age old wisdom.

Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Put These Together:  Don’t Worry.  Ask for Help.

Now, when I need answers, I place a simple request: POP IT IN.

For example, I’m writing and get stuck. What I used to do was:

  • Whine: You know the mantra I used.
  • Worry: “What if I don’t get an answer?”
  • Get angry and complain: “I don’t have time for this.”
  • Feel like a helpless victim: “Why is this happening to me?”

Now, I ask inwardly for help: “I need a headline. POP IT IN.”

The answer comes – either immediately or after it incubates for a while.

Prayers are always answered in divine right timing, Therefore, I let the concern go and do something else. This takes care of the seeking and knocking.

Taking action refocuses me. It helps me to detach from fixating on results and when they should arrive.

Easy. Simple. Clear.

Only Supportive Ideas Are Welcome.

By the way, if an unsupportive idea pops in your head, pop it out. It’s your head, so claim dominion of it. Don’t give your power away to negative thinking. You have the power to pop in or out what goes in it.

When those supportive ideas pop in, even if they’re a little outside-the-box, act on them. This is a key.

Remember, everything is given according to your belief. If you allow the possibility, this really works.

I invite you to experiment. Need answers? Relax and ask inwardly to “POP IT IN!”

Not Getting What You Want? Here’s Why.

August 21, 2019

Here’s what happened to two of my clients that cut them off from getting what they wanted… and how they turned it around.

1. Before we started coaching, a man was tens of thousands of dollars in the hole. Soon after, he turned his business around and in the last year has socked away many, many tens of thousands in savings.

However, he had a major meltdown about the “bitter reality” of not being able to get something he had been looking forward to having. Although the upset occurred in his personal life, his tremendous momentum in sales came to a halt.

Usually, at the beginning of his sessions, he listed so many deals that I couldn’t write them all down. This time, he said his business was anemic. Nothing going on at all!

By the end of his session, he did a 180 turnaround as he “put things in perspective.”

He said, “I trust I can deal with this better and more appropriately. I’m in a better spot now. I’m more comfortable about moving forward.

“I now feel gratitude for what I have instead of disappointment for what I don’t have.”

Less than two hours later, he got a call about a new prospect. The following day he had a new client!

Energy attracts like energy. What’s felt in some part of one’s life spills over to the rest of it. When he felt frustrated and disappointed, he magnetized other situations, like lack of clients, so he could continue feeling frustrated and disappointed. When he felt more positively, he attracted success.

2. Starting last fall, a seasoned professional’s business plummeted, and she was living off credit cards.

Shortly after coaching with me this year, she successfully turned her business around as she attained her goal of $1 million in monthly sales.

Suddenly, it all came to a standstill. $700,000 of deals completely fell through with no prospects on the horizon.

What happened?

She was brought up to believe that you have to work hard to get what you want. However, she met a guy last fall, and they’ve been having fun, fun, fun!

Recently, she’s been having so much fun that her limiting belief that “work has to be hard” crept back again. Her financial flow stopped cold in its tracks.

She became aware of her faulty belief, and let it go. During this week’s session, she reported that she’s on track to achieve her goal of $1 million of transactions next month, the time it takes for her deals to process.

In the meantime, she received a call asking her to consider a totally unexpected, significant income stream. This put needed cash in her pocket now and will continue to do so in the future.

A simple thought that life and work have to be hard impacts results. When her fun life became incongruent with that erroneous belief, something had to give. For her, it was to stop making money. That is, until she caught on and turned it around.

Not getting what you want? There’s an underlying reason for the disconnect.

Change your perspective to turn your life around. Imagine differently. Start by seeing through the eyes of gratitude and having more fun.

Life is supposed to be fun. No one is taking score of any kind, and if you will stop taking score so much, you will feel a whole lot better — and as you feel a whole lot better, more of the things that you want right now will flow to you… All is really well. Have fun. Have fun. Have fun!
