Do You Have a Shortage of What You Want?

November 5, 2018

purse-ea30b50728_340

There’s a saying that goes like this: from your lips to God’s ears.

Do you realize the power of your words and thoughts, even casual ones? Do you realize your own power?

You are not a victim of life’s circumstances.

Most people have a habit of talking about what they don’t have, don’t want, what’s too expensive, how they can’t afford something, what they hope for but wonder if it’s possible that it could happen, or simply complain about what’s not working.

Where’s the focus? On lack. On shortage.

As Job said in 3:25-26 of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible:

What I feared has come upon me;
what I dreaded has happened to me.
I have no peace, no quietness;
I have no rest, but only turmoil.”

Buddha is quoted to have said: “The mind is everything. What you think is what you become.”

The good news is that you can change your circumstances starting now by shifting your perspective from lack, shortage, fear and worry to focusing on what makes you happy and what you choose.

In doing so, you’ll discover your ability to shape your outer world to enjoy what you really, really want.

First, believe in yourself and realize, the best you can in this moment, that you have access to a power that creates all the universes and that which it contains.

Below are quotes from two teachers who add more perspective. These ideas are applicable to money or anything!

ABRAHAM-HICKS

Continuing to tell stories of shortage only continues to contradict your desire for abundance, and you cannot have it both ways: you cannot focus upon unwanted and receive wanted. You cannot focus upon stories about money that make you feel uncomfortable and allow into your experience what make you feel comfortable. A different story will bring different results.”

“If you are feeling a shortage of time or money, your best effort would be to focus upon better-feeling thoughts, and do more things that make you feel good.”

BOB PROCTOR

“One thing you should never, never do, is worry about whether or not you’ll get the amount of money you desire, because we tend to manifest that which we focus on, so if we’re focused and worried about not having money then we tend to attract more of that way of life, as opposed to if we focus on what we do want and what’s possible and what we can achieve, then we tend to gravitate towards that.”

You will attract everything that you require. If it’s money you need you will attract it. If it’s people you need you’ll attract it. You’ve got to pay attention to what you’re attracted to, because as you hold images of what you want, you’re going to be attracted to things and they’re going to be attracted to you. But it literally moves into physical reality with and through you. And it does that by law.”

Do You Need More? Are You Where You Know Isn’t Good for You?

April 16, 2018

peas in a pod

A new client hasn’t been paid for two and a half months from a part-time job. When she asks for her check, she gets a chilly response from the supervisor who says the company hasn’t paid them yet and to stop asking about it. She’ll get a call when they’re available.

Aside from being illegal, and we discussed actions to take, why was she putting up with that? The supervisor doesn’t treat her, her time or talent with respect. However, she ‘s full of pride that the people in the facility love my client and her work. She makes the supervisor look good.

My client realized that because she needed the money from this job, she was afraid to stand up for herself. She placed herself in a position where, even though she knew better, she’d been tolerating the supervisor who both belittles and takes advantage of her.

Then she got it. She quoted me a phrase that she frequently heard while growing up:

“Need more” will make you work where you’re not working properly.

In other words, if you’re needy, you’ll find yourself working or being in places that aren’t good for you, where you or your talents won’t be valued or appreciated.

Are there situations or people in your life that aren’t good for you, but you put up with them? If so, do you allow it because you feel you need them?

Neediness can make people do strange things.

Think about it. Perhaps there’s another way. You’re probably stronger than you realize.

TIP: What Were You Thinking and How It Affects You Now

December 5, 2016
 guy-on-bench
A woman I’ve known for decades, who used to be very involved with a spiritual practice, has been sending toxic emails.

She doesn’t check information to see if it’s true. Or they’re about disgruntled people who are challenged with a world that changed. Or she’ll take a positive message and skew it to be negative. And, I suppose, there are some valuable ideas, but to find them means wading through venom.

I replied to one of her emails that this is a season of unconditional love, and a way to it is being non-judgmental.

She answered, “Judgmental, unconditional love, spiritual beliefs… I definitely don’t fall under the PC situation… I have to keep it real for me, my truth. It may ruffle some people’s feathers but that’s what this world is for, experiences and finding out what we need to find out.”

Bah humbug. The spirit of Christmas is now just another way of being politically correct.

Gee, and here I thought that, underneath it all, the world is for Love.

How does her worldview affect her?

In other emails, she shared that she can get depressed.

Yet, she feels compelled that others see life through her passionate yet angry rants – under the guise of keeping it real and telling her truth.

In the past, I would listen endlessly to people’s sad stories and emotionally charged viewpoints.  I thought I was helping by holding space for them to share and be heard.

I’ve since learned that an extended focus on what doesn’t work is a disservice and adds fuel to a perspective that caused them distress. It only helps them to pick up momentum toward what they don’t like, which affects their health, finances, relationships or happiness.

This includes not validating sob stories I might conjure up about what I don’t like in my life or what’s not working the way I think it should.

If gently redirecting the conversation doesn’t work, I do what I can to exit with grace and ease.

My clients learn how to notice resistance and shift it, too.

To live with good feeling mojo is a simple concept. Feel good.

The more you think and feel good, the better your life becomes… your dreams magically start coming true.

This weekend, I had the privilege of being invited on a trip to enjoy rock art (pictographs the ancients painted on cave walls).

Although we were rained out from that part of our trip, we enjoyed a wonderful walk, a night in a cabin perched above the lower Pecos River plus a day in Mexico.

I listened to stories of how the rock art and area in and around Seminole Canyon State Park in south Texas transformed my friend after a personal family tragedy.

Since then, not only is she deeply passionate about rock art, she breathes a respect and reverence for life.

As a result, she’s created a loving life in alignment with her values and goals.

Your TIP is to observe your thinking and notice how it’s affecting you.

I’ll give you a BIG hint.

If there are parts of your life and business you don’t like as well as how it’s affecting you, observe what you’re thinking and feeling.

I know it can seem crazy, that forces beyond your control are the real culprit, but your energy is at the core. Like energy attracts like energy. Only you choose your perspective.

The good news is that wherever you are and for however long it took you to get here, regardless of how hopeless or frustrating aspects of your life, finances, business, relationships or health may seem at times, you can change it.

Look for what brings you joy instead of addictively focusing on anxiety, pain, suffering, who done you wrong or who’s doing something wrong.

This includes what feels unchangeable, like actor Michael J. Fox who went from having “everything” to having Parkinson’s.

He turned it around from the worse experience to the best wake up call. It changed his life for the better.

P.T. Barnum went bankrupt and didn’t enter the circus business until age 60.There goes the “I’m too old” argument of limitation.

By 1983, the millions made by boxer, heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist George Foreman were almost gone. He turned it around. In 2014, Foreman topped The Richest list of top athlete entrepreneurs of all time.

What isn’t working for you?

You can realign your thinking and feeling so your biggest challenge becomes your biggest asset.

You’ll feel happier, too.

By the way, I just returned from a Christmas concert. At the end, the chorus formed a circle around the entire audience and sang, “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.” It’s quite a concept, especially during the holiday season.

I work with people who long to share their gifts or business in a BIGGER way but don’t know how or feel stuck. I help them ignite their Soul’s goals and be richly compensated doing what they love.

TIP: You’re a Winner

June 22, 2016

Im a Winner

Did you ever have any of these thoughts?

I’m not good enough. If people knew what I feel behind my confident smiles or where I came from, they’d be surprised. I’m afraid of failure and success. I’m waiting for the other shoe to fall – yeah, it’s good now but it probably won’t last. What if I make (another) mistake and lose it all? There’s either not enough money or, when I have enough, I’m afraid it’s going to run out. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.

I’ve lost count of how many people have told me stories like this.

A woman was burdened with similar perspectives throughout her life. They played in the background of her thoughts like a persistent, low-grade fever.

Even though her business more than quadrupled in four months, she was afraid of not having enough time and that her success might be short-lived.

During her Belief Release session, she woke up to her personal power and let go of clouded thinking.

How? She replaced doubt, limit, fear, anxiety and lack through her power of choice, perspective, love and putting her Essence in charge.

She felt happy and freer than ever before.

Your TIP is to recognize YOU’RE A WINNER RIGHT NOW!

Take one instance where you don’t feel good about your life or business, and change your perspective.

Reframe you and your situation from being a loser to a winner.

What did you learn?

How did you become stronger?

Choose to let go of the past.

Now, with you as the artist of your business and life, what do you choose? What does your ideal business or life look like?

When you clear out your inner cobwebs, you’re able to hear the inner whisperings of your Essence and receive guidance and direction for your next step and greater success.

Stop listening to others’ fears and limitations about yourself that you may have believed were true.

Recognize you were born a winner regardless of circumstances then or now… and YOU STILL ARE A WINNER!

This is a new moment.

Go forth and create something wonderful.

ESCAPING FINANCIAL COLLAPSE

March 3, 2012

A woman came to me 1½ years ago on the verge of closing the doors of her office and working from home instead. The economy had taken its toll on a once thriving business, and fear had taken its toll on her spirit.

Recently she shared a story that demonstrates her attitude that turned her business around.

Her company had been courting a prospective client. Although they liked her and what her company brought to the table, in the end, they didn’t want to leave their current, long-time vendor.

The staff grumbled about it for a few minutes and then returned to work. As she sat at her desk, she shook her head and said to herself, “OK. We’re obviously not supposed to have this contract. I’m letting it go, and something better will come.” This was a departure from her old attitude of worry, fear and images of doom that would have consumed her.

As she clicked the Send and Receive button, an email appeared offering a contract which is now bringing her company three times more profit than the one that turned her down! Although only 1 ½ months into the year, her company surpassed her $250,000 first quarter goal and is bringing in $355, 000 with over $150,000 in profits. What a dramatic shift from before when business was at its last gasp of survival.

By the way, her motto this year is Divine flow. Let “stuff” go.

She also learned that God is her supply, not any one person or company. For example, she expected a big client to come through with a contract. She kept waiting and getting frustrated and more desperate. When she let go of her expectation and opened up to other possibilities, opened up to the idea that her supply comes from a divine source and not from anyone in particular, then business poured in from many directions.

A year later the big client still hasn’t come through, but her business is flourishing. Without the panic and struggle, she was able to float to the surface of the quicksand of chaos, and success greeted her.

It takes practice to choose to trust instead of give our power to fear. Being groomed since childhood with the habit of fear, I’ve had a lifetime of observing the sneaky ways it shows up. My life became shipwrecked when I allowed myself to be seduced by its siren calls.

Eventually, it became harder to hold onto anxiety and easier to let go and trust things will work out – regardless of appearances. I decided to give up worry because it just wasn’t working for me. And when I let go, miracles happen.

ESCAPING THE QUICKSAND OF FEAR

February 26, 2012

Fear was my #1 issue during a personal growth session in 1991. It took us two hours to reveal what the particular fear was: everything! It took me years to recognize the insidious ways fear had molded my life since childhood.

Like attracts like. When the vibration of fear precedes actions, the results reflect that energy. What follows is lack; struggle; failure; disappointment; frustration; worry; anxiety; loss of business; financial hardship; and that dreadful fear of the future – “what if” things don’t work out and I face a fate worse than death?

Especially when I felt justified, being afraid was like adding sugar to yeast – “Just look at my circumstances. Anyone in them would feel this way.” Fear multiplied which attracted more things to be afraid about.

Once when my budget was screaming “ouch,” I feared missing a credit card payment. I knew someone this happened to, and her rates skyrocketed. My negative musings caused me unconsciously to pay my bill from an account where I don’t keep money… and I missed my payment.

My preoccupation with my imagined, financial ruin also had me overlook paying my water bill. I opened the top portion of a letter sent to alert me and set it aside thinking it was next month’s bill. Only after coming home from burying my cat who suddenly died and discovering my water had been turned off did I see it was a disconnect notice.

I had the money, but I was so consumed with fearing future disasters that I created them!  As Job said, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”

You may have been pulled into the quicksand of fear. Once you start sliding  down its slippery slope, every frantic breath has you descend into it more deeply.

All my successes occurred when I let go of fear.

What is quicksand, and how does it work?

Quicksand is just a soupy mix of water trapped in ordinary sand that can’t escape, a liquefied soil that can’t support weight. It can occur almost anywhere if the right conditions are present. Contrary to being the frightening, bottomless pit portrayed in the movies, it rarely is deeper than a few feet.

Stepping into quicksand will not swallow you whole or suck you under, but thrashing about will force you deeper into it. The more you struggle, the faster you sink.

Most people who drown in quicksand or in any liquid are those who panic and start flailing their arms and legs. However, it’s easier to break free of it than you may think.

To escape you have to stop fighting. The key is not to panic.

The way out is to relax and make slow movements back to the surface. Because your body is less dense than the quicksand, your body will float to the surface if you let go of the struggle and relax. In fact, it’s easier to float on quicksand than on water. Once afloat, you can find your way back to safety.

Hmm, so similar to fear – how we drown in it and how we can escape its murky mud.

HOW I MANIFESTED MY HOUSE, TAX MONEY, CAR & BOYFRIEND – PART 1

April 8, 2011

While brooding about what I want but don’t have, images emerged that elbowed out my whining. Contrary to my logical thinking, I manifested my house; money to pay taxes; a brand new car; and even my boyfriend. All this was done without worrying – or, more accurately, because I didn’t worry.

Conclusion? Don’t stress. Manifest.

Feeling dissatisfied while wanting life to be different focuses on the wrong direction. Taking action on possibilities with belief attracts results.

 Want proof? Here’s how I manifested my…

House: Circumstances arose that inspired me to find a new place to live, and yesterday wasn’t soon enough to move. Even though I couldn’t see how I could purchase a house on short notice, soon after I bought one for $100 down.

How? In spite of my limited, preconceived ideas about what was possible, I boldly took action. I went to experts (a Realtor and loan officers) who knew how things could work to make my dream come true.

Money to Pay Taxes: I needed $$ in five weeks to pay taxes. One of my strategies was to ask a client to pay me three months in advance. Before I finished my proposal during a lunch meeting, he cut me off by saying, “I’ll pay you a year in advance.” By the way, it was the first time I’d seen him in person for three years.

During our meeting, I showed him educational tapes I thought he’d like, valued at $50. One of them I picked up from the mailman while in my car as I backed out of the driveway to meet him. My client gave me a $100 bill on the spot so he could listen to them right away.

How?  I followed through on ideas that popped in my head by taking action. An attitude of “success is the only option” focused my intention which produced results beyond what I anticipated.

Car: While focusing on money for taxes, I also explored ways to save. Interest on my car loan was nearly 14%. When I looked into refinancing at a dealership, I learned I could get a new car, if I qualified, for 1.9% interest. I told them that I didn’t need the car and would buy only if I got that interest rate. I was approved, and my car payment was only $1 a month more. They took my car as a trade-in and later refunded me $1,000 for its warranty. There was, however, only one thing they required – an additional $100. I handed them the Ben Franklin my client gave me for the tapes an hour earlier and drove away in my brand new car.

How? I followed through with where I was led although it seemed like a crazy thing to do. (I only meant to lower the interest rate on my car). I felt neither needy nor desperate to get the car.

Why did I even consider spending money to buy a car when my single-minded focus was on bringing in money for taxes? Because I consciously chose to take action on ideas rather than over-think and pre-judge them.

I made a decision to live by a new mindset. I acted on and said yes to financial opportunities that I would have otherwise said no to, put off or not bothered with. My new uncomfortable comfort zone embraced quickly stepping into unknowns with no procrastination.

How? I chose it. Because I was resolved for results to get money for taxes, I was real motivated. I decided to adopt a new mindset.

 For example, I:

  •  Joined a network marketing company which was both an enjoyable and profitable experience for many years. (Prior to this, I swore I would never do another.)
  • Mentioned to a friend that I had custom, gold jewelry that I had wanted to sell for a long time – and she knew a friend who wanted and bought it for $400.
  • Started my first mastermind groups which helped me and others focus on our goals – mine was to get money for taxes. They’re now an integral part of my work.
  • Lowered interest rates on credit cards which lowered my monthly payments.

Many actions taken while  focused but not needy or worried created many opportunities for miracles.

In Part 2 you’ll find out how I manifested my boyfriend and 5 steps you can take to manifest miracles in your life.

ENJOY YOURSELF: YOU’LL MAKE MORE MONEY, GET MORE DONE

August 2, 2010

Do you take time to enjoy yourself? Or do you have so much to do that you:

  • Don’t have room in your busy schedule
  • Would be irresponsible to take time out to have fun
  • Would feel guilty and not really be able to enjoy yourself
  • Forgot what having fun looks/feels like
  • Don’t have energy left after taking care of others’ needs
  • Are busy trying to survive. Enjoy? You gotta be kidding!

Enjoying a field of wildflowers

A client had a business that would take a host of people to replace her. An accident last year slowed her down for a while, yet she still felt compelled to drive herself from one activity to the next.

Consistent cash flow eluded her. She’d let go of her fear of running out of money and then clutch worry and anxiety like a familiar, battered security blanket that tripped her as she walked.

She felt relief when she decided to transfer her business to an associate. Sales soared, and she “felt so good to let everything go.”

Then circumstances changed, and she decided to keep her business. Although money kept coming, fear crept back. “I don’t want this abundance to stop.”

Not long after she caught a cold, and it was painful to speak. What was going on? We put the pieces together.

Auto immune deficiencies and colds are signals your body sends that you don’t feel supported by yourself.

“Are you supporting yourself to be true to you or to a lifestyle you’ve created but don’t really enjoy? When you don’t feel supported, your physical body reflects it.

“That’s why it’s important to build healthy self-esteem as it affects everything. It raises your energy beyond illness. It helps you make choices to flow with life instead of floating in an illusion of confusion.”

Bells went off. She’d been getting nudges to take care of herself. She realized the cold was her spirit’s way of reminding her to slow down and not go back to old habits.

I asked, “You’re so busy. How can you have more time for you?”

She replied:

  • “It’s my time and that’s going to happen – nothing’s going to get in the way. I’ll just make it happen.
  • “I’ve cut back on my responsibilities, and I’m not taking on more”

Her being resolved came from her clarity.

What was she going to do with her extra time? Unless a space is filled when a vacuum is created, life will fill it. Often it’s with a default pattern, such as overwork, that was diligently released for more creative choices.

Her inner voice had been nudging her for weeks:

  • Use a massage gift certificate she had for a couple of years.
  • Hire a personal trainer. She didn’t like what she saw in the mirror.
  • Eat healthier foods.
  • Take 15 minutes every day to just sit on the porch for quiet time.
  • Have a journal nearby to write down ideas.

Her excitement quickly grew.

She realized that when she takes care of herself, she feels good. When she feels good, she generates more income. When she enjoys herself, she gets more done. But it takes trust.

Trust…to let go of doing whatever it takes to maintain status quo.

Courage… to follow your heart into an unknown change.

Faith… to believe you’re led wisely, beyond what you conceived with your best thinking.

Mama trusted her newborn to wait for her on my porch

No time to enjoy life?

If you feel you don’t have enough time, you’re reflecting lack – a lack of time. This echoes other forms of lack and not enough – such as money, love, fulfillment and health.

When you most need to take time for you is when you don’t think you have the time to take the time. (Yeah, read that one again.)

If you’ve been getting nudges to make a change, start now with small steps. If you don’t like how you started, start again and again, if needed.

The key is to do it without judgment. Don’t beat yourself up if you haven’t taken time to have fun and enjoy yourself. That’s totally counter productive.

Learning is a process – a layer at a time.

Ducks enjoying a walk in the park.

Life isn’t meant to be an endurance test. It’s a gift for you to appreciate and enjoy.

Everyone is going through a moment of truth now more than ever. It’s not just you.

  • Biggest fears are front and center.
  • What’s been denied or put off to look at can no longer be avoided.
  • Challenges are revealed to be dealt with.
  • The charade is fading, and it’s time to be real.

The process is usually uncomfortable so it gets your attention. Action becomes less painful than toleration.

Why is this happening to you? Because from your very essence, your soul is guiding you to live in greater joy, in closer alignment with who you really are. And, from this authentic place, express your gifts to the world.

It’s time for an awakening – to remember life is not meant to be laborious and a struggle but to be lived more true to you than ever before.

The question is how conscious do you choose to be in the process? How hard do you make it? You can choose to learn your lessons in a gentle way by decreeing it so.

At the end of your life you can look back with no regrets and say, “I learned a lot. I loved. And I enjoyed the ride.”

Enjoying life is your litmus test to know if you’re living in alignment with your soul.

Your head tells you what you think you should do, which isn’t always supportive to you or others. Your soul guides to be in a rhythm with life. Which is which? Ask yourself if you’re really enjoying all aspects of your life?

Make the connection. Let’s summarize:

  • When you feel good about you and enjoy life, you attract good things.
  • Because you feel life has more meaning than day-to-day concerns, you’re happier.
  • Because you’re happier, your activities flow more smoothly.
  • When it does, you make more money and are more effective at whatever you do.
  • This generates more productivity, and you get more done.
  • You live inspired, creative and express your precious gifts with the world.

Even in hardship, you can appreciate and enjoy being alive. It’s a perspective.

If you see life as hard, one challenge after another, waiting for the other shoe to fall, what else can go wrong – you’re not in the flow.

You can choose to see it as opportunities to learn and grow, appreciate acts of kindness and focus on gratitude and love.

Enjoying life is not frivolous, an aside to what’s really important or an optional cherry on the cake. It’s the cake.

What can you do to enjoy yourself more? Take time to do it because it’s YOUR life, and your life is not a means to an end. There are no brownie points to endure it. Instead, make conscious choices to enjoy your gift of being alive.

You deserve to enjoy yourself, and you are so very much worth it.
