Tyranny or Freedom?

July 3, 2017

While living in Washington, D.C., I’d park my car, run up 58 steps and be in awe at the towering and erect presence of one of the great men who founded the United States of America. Thomas Jefferson also served as our third President from 1801 to 1809.

I sometimes visited the Jefferson Memorial when I could be alone in this hallowed sanctum. It was possible to do because it’s open around the clock.

Standing amidst the white marble steps and building, my eyes would gaze at the 129′ bronze statue and excerpts of the Declaration of Independence, whose principal author was Jefferson.

However, the reason I kept returning was to slowly turn in a circle to read the inscription under the dome:

I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.”  Thomas Jefferson to Dr. Benjamin Rush, September 23, 1800.

I didn’t realize at the time how these words, which still bring tears to my eyes, would be emblazoned within me. They inspired my lifetime passion, “upon the altar of God,” to help others and myself live in freedom through liberation of the “tyranny over the mind of man.”

The definition of tyranny includes the oppression, often cruel, of people or a government over others. Another aspect is an unreasonable or arbitrary use of power or control.

For me, there’s a twist to this. It reminds me of a quote by American Navy Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry in 1813.  Most famously, it was quipped by cartoonist Walt Kelly on a couple of Earth Day posters when Pogo said:

The voice in your head, motivated by an insecure ego, can be your enemy and create the greatest form of tyranny.

These inner rants can be cruel, unreasonable, oppressive and arbitrary. If you allow this to dominate, you relinquish control of your life.

Know that you have the power of choice!

You can choose to listen to your Essence, instead.

Especially those familiar with my teachings about “choosing,” you might be interested in this. When I was thirty years old, I had the first sentence of the following quote by Jefferson on a wall plate of a light switch:

“Freedom is the right to choose: the right to create for oneself the alternatives of choice. Without the possibility of choice, and the exercise of choice, a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing.”

Pondering this message regularly, I knew there was more to it than I could understand at the time. I’m now aware of this:

We are free to choose. We are so free, we can choose fear or freedom.

We choose our thoughts, which impact our emotions, which creates our lives. What hinders our freedom is allowing our minds to be tyrannized by any limiting beliefs. From anyone. From any circumstance or condition. From the tyrannical inner voice.

A client showed me a picture of a tow truck driver who quickly and skillfully used multiple cables to turn upright a parked truck that had been hit by a car and had completely flipped over.

The driver was very good-natured, and his demeanor radiated a cheerful attitude and peace.

Both of his arms stopped below his elbows.

He had a prosthetic leg, too.

He is a living demonstration of choosing his attitude and outlook on life. He wasn’t tyrannized by his physical condition and whatever caused it.

We in America celebrate our country’s birthday on the Fourth of July, our Independence Day. It’s a time of freedom.

While talking with others about a life-changing break for freedom during the week of July 4th when I was 20, others shared their stories of freedom that happened around this time, too.

Soon, the French will celebrate their day of freedom on July 14, Bastille Day.

Tyranny or freedom?

You can choose to hold in your mind’s eye the freedom and intentions that our forefathers envisioned while founding the United States.

What freedom and independence do you choose for you?

Start with freeing yourself from the tyranny of your mind, where nothing and nobody can touch you.

With gratitude,

Virginia

TIP: How Doubt Sabotages You

September 27, 2016

Doubt is like a blindfold that hides your success.

Consider these scenarios:

#1 You want something you believe you can have. This alignment feels good.

  • Results: Life brings you outcomes that match your feelings. What you imagined or something better manifests.

#2 You want something, but you begin to doubt and wonder “what if” it doesn’t work. This gap in alignment between what you want but think you can’t have feels bad. Or you’re so disappointed from past failures, you’re afraid to believe.

  • Results:  Life brings you outcomes that match your feelings. Things go haywire and don’t work just as you said they wouldn’t. Just as they haven’t been.

Why does positive expectation create positively and doubt sabotage?

Think of playing notes on an instrument.

  • Let’s say, in #1, you’re a note and your goal’s a note. When you feel good, there’s harmony. Energy aligns. You attract success.
  • When you introduce doubt, as in #2, you’re playing two notes that are in discord. Discord isn’t a vibrational match for you and your goal. Things go kerflooey (yes, this actually is a word).

Negative energy occurs when your thoughts and feelings are in opposition to your goals.

Your soul tells you one thing (yes, you can do it); your ego tells you the opposite (maybe… no, you can’t).

When you feel doubt, your energy is adversarial to what you want and hinders your success.

Your TIP is to feel good, let go of doubting that you can succeed – and focus on this belief regardless of appearances.

Don’t believe your doubt.

Don’t buy into whatever is yucky in your life and act like that’s the ultimate truth.

The yuck was created because of your focus on limiting beliefs like doubt.

You CAN change your focus by making a decision to change it.

This video takes eight seconds to watch, and then repeats a few times in slow motion so you can witness this astonishing, holographic effect. Thanks to my friend Pat for sharing it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZRFcGrrsyc

Actually, this isn’t even a hologram. It’s an illusion of an illusion called augmented reality.

Don’t be blinded by your world of illusion and feel down because you don’t like what you see, then fill yourself with doubt because you can’t figure out how something can work.

There’s always a way out.

Believe.

TIP: The Happier Choice

June 7, 2016

anger

A man tried to passive-aggressively manipulate a woman, by attempting to get her to doubt herself, so she would do what he wanted.

An insecure woman controls her friend’s behavior by using her illness and fearful threats of taking away something he needs. He goes along with it because the intimidation clouds his ability to believe in himself and that he can find a solution elsewhere.

A therapist got angry with a peer who didn’t buy into her fear-based bullying which she communicated by demeaning words, raised voice, blaming others and mocking tone.

When change occurs, some people feel they’re losing control. It can feel as if their very life is threatened, and they’ll do whatever it takes to survive.

Chances are the perpetrators won’t see or believe what they’re doing.

Stand at arm’s length if you try to tell them lest they throw a punch. Ever hear the adage about not trying to teach a pig how to fly? A pig can’t fly, and you’ll just irritate the pig.

Yes, forgive them for they know not what they do… and take care of yourself! You have a responsibility to be steward of YOUR life.

You have a choice to be a follower of someone else’s fears and expectations, and give away your power, or think for yourself.

You won’t be truly happy unless you follow the rhythm of your own drum.

In avoiding dealing with situations like these (and there are countless variations), you might believe that when the people disappear into the sunset, it will be happy trails forever more. Not true.

Unless you address your “stuff,” you carry this vibration, these feelings, in your energy field. You’ll attract more of the same type of people and experiences in the future, even if your current situation goes away.

Why?

Life offers you opportunities to grow, release what’s not serving you and be free.

What does this have to do with you and your goals?

If you succumb to fear, you may find yourself doubting your ability to be richly compensated doing what you love.

You deserve much more.

Your TIP is to make the happier choice.

  • Trust yourself. Listen to the voice within and what your gut is telling you. Don’t elevate others’ opinions over your own.
  • Believe in your Self. YOU have a hotline to the Divine. Don’t diss that connection by letting others convince you that they know what’s good for you more than you do.
  • Don’t give away your power to fear and self-doubt (others or your own).

How can you do this?

  • Make choices on your behalf instead of trying to please people or kowtowing to fear. Your choices matter. You matter.
  • Listen to your inner guidance. Even if you’ve been ignoring it for a while doesn’t mean your spirit isn’t available 24/7 to give you nudges as well as to light up the best direction for you to take.
  • Pay attention to how you feel not to what you think you should do based on others’ opinions. Let good-feeling mojo be your guide.
  • Be in the now. The ego will have you long for or regret the past or be afraid of future what-ifs and worse-case scenarios. In the present, you can change your thinking and handle anything. Your power is in this moment.
  • Anticipate the best! Why not? It’s the attitude that brings positive results.

You can achieve your dreams in ways that surpass your wildest imagination. However, you must be a vibrational match to them.

Fear, manipulation, doubt and worry create more of the same. None of these are real.

Remember your Source, the real You, and make the happier choice: loving, supportive, creative, growing, free and in the Now.

Remember this, and you’re unstoppable!

TIP of the Week: How To Skate Through Life

October 27, 2015

Wouldn’t you rather skate through life than be burdened by it?

My dream this morning gave me a roadmap how.

Let’s say you wanted to ice skate in winter, but there wasn’t a place to do it.

However, you had a place where water could be added to create a pond.

So, you filled that space with an available water source.

Gave it time to freeze.

Now you can skate.

Makes sense. But what does this have to do with anything?

Where’s your focus?

Mulling over problems is how we believe we’re being responsible, but that’s looking in the wrong direction for answers. Habits can be hard to break. You have choices. You could:

  • whine about not being able to skate because there isn’t a place to do it.
  • blame wildlife for drinking the water that could’ve frozen.
  • feel sorry for yourself or tell your story so others can feel sorry for you.

Regardless, you still can’t skate.

You can’t have a problem without already having the answer!

If you keep looking at the problem and feeling bad about it, you won’t see the solution.

You have a place within, your Essence, that already has the solution – the space for the pond.

If you’re open to receive, your inner guidance will fill you with answers – your available water.

If you allow answers time to transform from fluid to solid – thoughts and feelings materialize. Focus on good feelings.

Here’s where Resolved for Results Mastermind Principle #3 comes in handy:

I trust my Self and listen to the voice within.

Breathe. Listen.

What if you stay loyal to the what-if-it-doesn’t-work thinking?

Same ole, same ole. Success goes up and down like a see saw. Frustration, anger, blame, struggle, complications and disappointment. Familiar? Here’s what else you can do.

TIP of the Week: How to Skate Through Life Notice how you greet situations.

Is it with fear, doubt, discouragement or other negative feelings?

Instead, focus on any positive experiences you’ve ever had about this.

If you don’t have one, imagine how you’d like it to be.

Before a sales presentation or any transaction, remember ones that went great. It doesn’t matter if you’ve put your foot in your mouth a hundred times before. But once, your long lost uncle bought a candy bar you were selling in grade school, and you felt happy. Go to those thoughts and feelings.

Feeling weak in the knees because you’re about to talk with someone? Recall moments of empowering interactions.

If you’re used to feeling the other shoe is going to drop, feeling good may seem downright unnatural. With practice and positive results, you’ll feel more comfortable.

Feeling good IS your natural state. Forget what you may have heard otherwise. That was misery wanting company

BOYS MEET GIRL – LAW OF ATTRACTION ACTION

September 25, 2012

Magnet and its magnetic field

After the universe’s exuberant response to my calamitous focus of “what else can go wrong,” I made new choices.  One was to open to receive… let’s say certain relationships in my life. I didn’t dwell, need, beg or long for it.  I stated my intentions with conviction and let them go.

I was soon reminded what I set in motion. Here’s an example: a Twitter Direct Message (DM) from a handsome and distinguished young man.

Miss Virginia how r u? I like u…plz add me on (Skype and email address).

I messaged that I added him to my mailing list. OK?

He responded quickly, but before I had time to read it I received this tweet.

@Soulgoal answer about direct message 🙂

Here’s what it said:

Ok..but how old r u? I prince from saudi arabia..living in U.S….I wanna meet u.

I didn’t think “me Tarzan, you Jane” would mean much. So, I pro-actively opted for: I’m old enough to know that a prince from Saudi Arabia wouldn’t be interested.

Add to this the construction worker who saw my photo and decided I would move to Ohio to be his wife and raise his teen-age son, a sweet, single Brit who wants to huk up and be my best friend, lovely connections from friends, etc.

I respect the vulnerability and courage it took for some to reach out. Even though some of these didn’t work for me, here’s what I learned.

My intentions created movement! Suddenly people I know and don’t know are contacting me. My energy is open to receive which activated the Law of Attraction. People who responded to my search beam first were those within reach of it – more are coming. Creating a laser focus would help, too.

The process is not always perfect at first which allows room for refinement – but NOT giving up.

Think about the implications for YOU: the doors it opens, pending miracles, the practical use in your work, finances and personal life. You don’t have to know where or how it works. Ask believing you can receive and take action.

To manifest, launch light-hearted energy with trust and clear intentions. This wavelength is conducive to receive positive results on the return swing of the pendulum. Feel good energy goes out; experiences come back creating more  feeling good.

We are energy beings. Life is a reflection of thoughts, words, feelings and attitudes = energy. You can consciously use this energy to allow the Law of Attraction to work on your behalf.

What do you CHOOSE to create?

  • Energize your choices with good feelings.
  • Ask for what you choose.
  • Let them go.
  • Trust the universe is working on your behalf.
  • Anticipate the best.
  • Recalibrate your request, if needed.

Have fun creating a wonderful life!

And to the charming man who’s showered me with messages, a text and phone call – consider using the Law of Attraction to find someone who would mutually enjoy your company for walks and talks through an online dating service.

HOW I TURNED MY LIFE AROUND

September 14, 2012

Willie Nelson sings about life going from one crazy thing to another in his lyrics “last thing I needed first thing this morning was to have you walk out on me.” Welcome to what my world – was.

It started innocently a few months ago with my cat waking me up daily at 4:45 AM to go out. I couldn’t get back to sleep, didn’t stop to take naps, and stayed up until midnight. Too many activities and long days fried my adrenals, and I had to take a couple of weeks off from work. With my energy at its lowest and pain from a jammed hip bone at its highest, I received shocking news about a friend that left me reeling.

Because of my exhaustion I was more susceptible to things affecting me, and the downward spiral began. My computer broke. I ordered a new PC only to learn most of my address book had to be manually replaced – this saga continued for five weeks. My AC stopped working in 100° weather. Meantime, my cell phone went awry, and I missed a group coaching call. My headset, mouse and income went kaput, and even my toilet clogged. To say working was a challenge is an understatement.

I kept positive by going to sleep and waking up focused on gratitude and journaled about what was working. However, during the day, I thought about what wasn’t working.

I felt sad resignation as I listened almost imperceptibly to my deceased mother’s mantra “if it’s not one thing, it’s another.” An old program of what-else-can-go-wrong ran in the background.

After a while I lost interest in bouncing back and thought I’d ride it out to the bottom.

HERE’S WHAT I MISSED

Imagine going to work wearing a great pair of shoes and tie or handbag… dressed in shabby pajamas. Likewise, I thought I was upbeat because I gave verbiage to being positive and practiced gratitude in the morning and night. However, my beat up attitude was running like a computer program in the background.

Sandwiched throughout the day between my positive focus, I visualized and felt what I didn’t want – what next? I used my attention and depleted energy to spin around what was wrong instead of what I chose to happen. So, I created more problems.

God was neither punishing or ignoring me. Life didn’t have it in for me. There wasn’t a metaphoric lesson or karma catching up. I wasn’t cursed, and Satan wasn’t interfering. I wasn’t doing anything wrong that needed a pause to redirect. I was enough and doing enough, and I wasn’t doomed for failure. I wasn’t doing any of the gazillion conclusions people erroneously come to when they wonder why is this happening to me. Why aren’t things working?

No outside force was responsible for my life. I created results from my attitude and attention. The universe energetically matched my thoughts and feelings.

Energy flows where attention goes. What else can go wrong? My prayers were answered. The universe replied with new calamities.

Visualizing isn’t just what happens during a visualization exercise. It includes predominant feelings and thoughts during the day.

You, too, create more of what you focus on and can make new choices. You can do it without owies from beating yourself up or building a case to support the stories you tell about your life.

THESE 5 STEPS CAN HELP YOU THROUGH CHALLENGES:

  1. Ask your inner powerhouse, your soul energy, to empower you.
  2. Visualize with feeling what you choose throughout the day.
  3. Take one step at a time.
  4. Find and implement ways to rest and take care of yourself instead of tolerating fatigue.
  5. Talk with supportive people. Masterminding your goals and dreams empowers you and refocuses your vision.

Remember, the fastest way out of a hole is to stop digging it. No matter what’s going on, it’s not going to last forever. This too shall pass.

Now it’s your turn. What are your predominant thoughts and feelings throughout the day? Any old programs running in the background? How about dumping those pjs?

CHALLENGED? 5 CHOICES FOR AN EASIER LIFE

March 22, 2012

Life presents challenges. How you respond – your emotional choices and mental focus – is YOUR choice. You can get sucked into the quicksand of negative emotions, railing against the world and how tough everything is, focus on what’s not working and bemoan your tale of woes with others or in your head… and attract the opposite of what you want.

Or you can make a different choice.

Some of my clients are in the midst of the most heart-wrenching experiences of their lives. One left a country where he worked over three years in a highly regarded profession to interview for a job. His current position finishes in three months, and so far all his efforts to find new employment haven’t produced results. Frustrated by multiple rejection letters – literally, where in the world will this gifted man live and create an income? This follows a year of intense personal and professional challenges.

Upon his return, immigration blocked his re-entry because of visa problems. He was arrested, detained and deported back to the city where he had just interviewed. Banned to go back for his belongings at work and home which is also where his girlfriend lives, he has no cell phone or office to continue his job search. His attorney says there is no help legally and made excuses for not properly advising him.

At first he was in shock and emailed “I AM REALLY F___ED… I am devastated, exhausted, overwhelmed and at the end of my wits.”

Soon after, he Skyped me from a computer in a noisy café for a session.

Decision time: be the victim and miserable in a living hell or surrender and have faith that there’s a divine purpose and something positive will come of this.

Feelings and thoughts manifest. His personal honesty allowed him to see how he created this experience – he really didn’t want to work at his job or be in that country anymore. This situation assured he wouldn’t spend another minute there.

He also has a strong desire to dump childhood patterns and traumas. Realizing his former tension and aggressiveness stemmed from being where he wasn’t appreciated, he chooses now to use this time as a transformation to express his positive nature.

Cut free from the burden of having to go back, the following day brought a feeling of liberation, contentment and a sense of being in a divine comedy.

With his newfound attitude, his nightmare vanished like a bad dream after waking up. “I’m in the right place at the right time, and I know there’s opportunity here. I have friends and feel that I’m amongst kindred spirits in this city. I have to take action and not be complacent. My girlfriend and colleagues will pack up my things, and she’ll bring them here next month. She wanted to move away from there anyway. I’m looking at life with childlike wonder knowing my good is here. I feel purposeful. I’ll figure it out and make it work.”

Months of anxiety and fear about finding a job and where it would be disappeared, too. It’s either in this city and country or something better.

I asked him to pick an image to reflect his perspective. He chose Fred Astaire – light and with good technique.

You can transform any situation in your life by choosing to:

  1. Let go of the exhausting struggle: your story of your hard life and what if the worse happens. Write it down and burn or shred it. Choose to let it go! Repeat as needed.
  2. Change your perspective from one that creates stress and deteriorates your health and finances to one where you surrender to a divine source with an attitude of anticipating the best. Look for the positive in any situation; it’s always there.
  3. Stop thinking and talking about what’s wrong and instead focus on what’s working
  4. Enjoy quality time with those who nipped the self-indulgent habit of #1-3.
  5. Take action in the direction of your dreams.

As you gently let go of the struggle, you’ll float to the top of the quicksand of fear and move to the shore of creativity and abundance.

ESCAPING FINANCIAL COLLAPSE

March 3, 2012

A woman came to me 1½ years ago on the verge of closing the doors of her office and working from home instead. The economy had taken its toll on a once thriving business, and fear had taken its toll on her spirit.

Recently she shared a story that demonstrates her attitude that turned her business around.

Her company had been courting a prospective client. Although they liked her and what her company brought to the table, in the end, they didn’t want to leave their current, long-time vendor.

The staff grumbled about it for a few minutes and then returned to work. As she sat at her desk, she shook her head and said to herself, “OK. We’re obviously not supposed to have this contract. I’m letting it go, and something better will come.” This was a departure from her old attitude of worry, fear and images of doom that would have consumed her.

As she clicked the Send and Receive button, an email appeared offering a contract which is now bringing her company three times more profit than the one that turned her down! Although only 1 ½ months into the year, her company surpassed her $250,000 first quarter goal and is bringing in $355, 000 with over $150,000 in profits. What a dramatic shift from before when business was at its last gasp of survival.

By the way, her motto this year is Divine flow. Let “stuff” go.

She also learned that God is her supply, not any one person or company. For example, she expected a big client to come through with a contract. She kept waiting and getting frustrated and more desperate. When she let go of her expectation and opened up to other possibilities, opened up to the idea that her supply comes from a divine source and not from anyone in particular, then business poured in from many directions.

A year later the big client still hasn’t come through, but her business is flourishing. Without the panic and struggle, she was able to float to the surface of the quicksand of chaos, and success greeted her.

It takes practice to choose to trust instead of give our power to fear. Being groomed since childhood with the habit of fear, I’ve had a lifetime of observing the sneaky ways it shows up. My life became shipwrecked when I allowed myself to be seduced by its siren calls.

Eventually, it became harder to hold onto anxiety and easier to let go and trust things will work out – regardless of appearances. I decided to give up worry because it just wasn’t working for me. And when I let go, miracles happen.

You Are A Force Of Nature – Part 2

October 4, 2011

Part 1 shares how a NO BURN ZONE was created in the midst of the Texas fires. Results? People, their property and animals were unharmed. Read Part 2 to learn more about how they did it. Sheera Rexroad’s account of her personal experience with the ravenous, fire beast continues.

The Texas fires had to move on.

The fire had a huge hunger as it traveled along the fence line to the west.  It would dart in for a quick taste with its fire tongue here and there.  It shook off each taste and moved on along the north fence of Ranch de Kris.

By now the big, mean fire was weak and floundering; it needed tasty bits and soon to feed its rage.

We had NONE to offer.

It slithered further to the west and jumped through the fence into the neighboring property west of Ranch de Kris. It burned there but, not satisfied, it continued westward to the next property and beyond.

This Delhi fire was powerful and fast. It jumped containment lines and roads several times before it came close to where we live.  One of the fire balls grazed the heads of the all volunteer firefighters when it jumped a firebreak.

I knew that the land that I live on and steward was untouched.  I knew that the land where my brother lives was untouched. This I felt, and this I knew.

Gratitude and the power of intention

This is Sheera’s email a few days after the fire continued its rampage. Her powerful belief and invocation created the mold for the NO BURN ZONE. The fire was confused; she was not.

First, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your powerful and positive thoughts.

Your prayers and requests are holding safe space for us.

I ask and know that the property that we both live on and take care of will make it through the fires unharmed.

I ask and know that the houses that we shelter in will be unharmed.

I ask and know that the animals that we steward are secure and safe.

I know that there is much designed for me to do, and that what I have been involved in so far is not to be taken by some confused flames.

I know that I, Sheera of One Girl Farm, and my brother, Kris – of Ranch de Kris, are to be safe and cared for.

I ask that you continue in your vigils.  We can feel it.  We can see the evidence of asking for protection.

We are strong.  We are determined. We know that what we ask for, pray for, request is answered.

Your efforts and energies are dynamic.

Please do not stop.

My thoughts

Sheera made choices that spared her family, farms and animals from personal disaster when she:

  • Invoked an inner determination and strength
  • Knew her family, their property and animals would be safe
  • Affirmatively spoke forth the outcome she chose
  • Visualized a NO BURN ZONE of protection from the fire
  • Was motivated by her request that served a bigger purpose
  • Created an impromptu mastermind group to send prayers, love, safety and protection before she packed to evacuate.

What about the properties that burned?

My neighbor’s home burned down a year after her lake house succumbed to fire. A couple of months later, she was calm and peaceful when she told me it was a blessing. Huh?

Before then she lived in a world where people didn’t care about one another, only themselves. That changed when total strangers, organizations, churches and the community helped with clothing, food and more.

Her heart and mind opened to the love and care of others. For her, it was a lesson that had more value than worldly goods.

What benefit could come from burned farm land? Farmers couldn’t collect insurance because of the drought. However, many could from fire.

Every experience teaches. It’s all good, regardless of appearance. Look for the gift.

By the way, a week after the Texas fires, during a drought with no rain, amidst the ashes, here and there, sprigs of green grass appeared. Renewal and rebirth heralded a new cycle.

You can choose your reactions and actions.

You do NOT have to give your power away to fear or discouragement.  The flames of anger, doubt and confusion do not have to eat away at you.

You may have what appear to be unstoppable forces occurring in your life. Remember: “You are a force of nature. Don’t put yourself as a lesser being that can be jostled about.”

NEED BUSINESS? MORE MONEY? – PART 2

June 10, 2011

Masterminding invokes the soul, which is 100% of your spirit, to assist you to design a life of your choice.  Multiply this by the number of people in a harmonious mastermind group and place the Prime Creator at the center. This is the mastermind energy.

When you mastermind you awaken to receive love, support, energy, and guidance from 100% of the highest consciousness. It’s no surprise, then, that the mastermind creates results beyond what you can do using just 10% or less of ordinary thinking and effort.

A natural consequence is that fear, doubts, worry, anxiety, and anything counterproductive burn away in this light.

From the Resolved for Results Course

To reap the harvest from masterminding, you must first decide what you choose.

Like  planting a garden, your crop is dependent on the seeds you sow.

I met Elizabeth D. at her first Mastermind Party on May 4. Five days later, she emailed me this:

“Thank you!  It was a very inspiring meeting…

“I thought I’d share something funny…remember how I asked for $10,000 a month?  Well, I got a check in the mail today for $8000. Not related to work, but still I was open to receive the abundance from anywhere, right?”

I suggested she watch for the other $2,000. On June 5, she sent me this:

I got that extra $2000 check ending May at $10,000!  Interesting! Manifesting the dream.

While setting her goal, she thought she might be asking for too much. This is a common concern. The key to manifesting isn’t about how much you ask for but in choosing authentically.

Is your heart or head choosing your goal?

  • Your head and ego direct you to what sounds good and what you think you should do.
  • Your heart and soul nudge you in a direction that lights you up, even though it may create feelings of fear because it’s outside of your comfort zone.

Imagine you are living your goal right now. What do you feel? Happy? Does your heart sing? If so, you’re on the right track.

Do you feel constricted, shut down, neutral or sad? If so, consider tweaking it or choosing another goal.

Don’t worry if you change your mind. Choose again until you have one you can focus on.

TIP: Ask within that you recognize the best goal for you without a shadow of a doubt.

Sometimes it’s easier to figure out what you want by clarifying what you don’t want – and then turn it around.

What don’t you want?

Create two columns on a sheet of paper by drawing a line down the middle.

In one column, make a list of what you need, don’t want, find objectionable, don’t have or are unhappy about regarding business and money (which includes what it can purchase) or anything else in your life.

For example, in the first column write things like these:

  • I hate what I’m driving.
  • I need a computer for when I travel.
  • I’m overdue for a vacation.
  • I’m sick of my job.

In the next column, write the opposite. Add details, if you have them.

  • A reliable, red Ford 150 truck
  • An iPad with warranty.
  • 5 days, 4 nights in Vegas
  • A job I love earning $50,000 or more a year working with people I enjoy.

Here are some simple guidelines for writing your goal:

  1. Use positive language: say what you choose, not what you don’t want.
  2. Claim your goal now, not for the future – what you will do or have.
  3. Don’t limit it – ask for this or something better
  4. Don’t set goals for others without their permission.

When you align with your soul’s goal, are open to receive, and focus on it with a positive attitude of anticipation, miracles can and do happen.

In Part 1, you opened yourself to receive.

In Part 2, you learned the basics on how to choose a goal.

In Part 3, you’ll learn how to mastermind.

Get ready to create miracles and successes so you can share your gifts with the world and be richly compensated.
