Exhausted? In Pain? Migraines?

We may feel tired or extremely fatigued from hard work or putting in long hours, but exhaustion comes from emotions. Exhaustion stems from suppressing worries, anger, fear, and concerns, often telling ourselves we’ll deal with them later. But we don’t. By stuffing and not looking at them, we emotionally sabotage ourselves.

Dragging ourselves home from work may result from not dealing with the stress of situations or associating with certain people. Exhaustion at home may occur by not wanting to admit what our feelings are trying to tell us and that something needs to change.

We can exhaust ourselves from not wanting to look at the reasons we feel pain or fear.


I was present at the moment a woman made a connection about her unfulfilling relationship with her father.  As a little girl, she regularly hit her head against the wall rather than face that emotional pain.

As an adult in her twenties, she no longer hit her head. Instead she had migraines. Although painful, migraines were easier for her to deal with than looking at the pain she felt from being emotionally abandoned by her father.

People sometimes drive themselves through grueling physical activity, long work hours or constant busyness rather than looking at the pain and frustration they feel about negative experiences or things their parents did or didn’t do, revealing their personal bogeyman or why they tolerate intolerable situations and people now. 

If you’re exhausted or in pain and torment yourself about how you feel because of it, you have a good excuse reason not to think, change your perspective and discover that there are better options available to you.

Here are examples of underlying fears that may drive you.

  • If I leave my job/ spouse, I won’t have enough money.
  • If I leave my church/ social circle, I’ll be all alone.
  • If I stop being so busy, I’ll have to slow down and look at what kind of a life I have – the people, circumstances, drama, unfulfilling work, my fears, my lack, my body, my very happiness and so on.

Another emotional payoff might include the sympathy and attention others give you. Pain, illness or exhaustion can become a badge of courage… “You’re exhausted from what you’re going through, you poor thing.”

Pain’s survival depends on part of us remaining unconscious. This is how it continues to hold power over us. This is what causes us to relive variations of emotionally charged situations repeatedly.

Because our spirit desires a release of unsupportive energy, we continue to attract similar situations (even if they suck). They serve as opportunities for us to wake up and be free.

If we avoid releasing unsupportive energy, we look to gain power elsewhere. We settle for jobs, relationships and unsatisfying lives. This is exhausting.

Had enough? Where are you losing your power? Who or what did you give your power to?

A first step to freedom is self-awareness, and sometimes it helps to ask for help to see our blind spots as well as learn new ways to release energy that doesn’t serve us.

BONUS! 

MIGRAINES, EXHAUSTION and MORE

Alert: This may go against everything you believe to be helpful and good.

When we emotionally feel sorry for or bad about others going through challenges or try to save them from their suffering, we energetically tie into their pain. We plug our energy circuitry into their emotions and how they feel, aligning ourselves with their vibrational wavelength.

Any suffering we alleviate by doing this doesn’t help them to learn their lessons and actually holds them back.

Empaths (people who feel others’ feelings as if they are their own) can unconsciously take on others’ pain, illness, lack, confusion, stress, depression and fatigue. That kind of sensitivity can be exhausting.

Ever feel good and then drained after talking with certain people?

Here’s another consideration. Do you think someone is a headache or a pain in your neck or another part of your lower anatomy? Well, that literally can be what happens to you.

Are you struggling, stuck, have issues? Know someone around you that often feels the same? They may, for example, struggle in one way, you in another. It’s still struggling. Maybe you unintentionally took on what they’re going through.

A woman volunteered as a leader to help the homeless. While we talked she had a realization. Since riding in a car with others from her church and their negative chatter for a couple of hours to visit this community, she hadn’t closed one deal in six months! She decided to drive her own car and started closing deals.

Another example, people who don’t drink might be dealing with an alcoholic family member. However, both may be dealing with fear but coping in different ways. One drinks and the other lives in fears like expecting the worse to happen.

Look for similar feelings not identical circumstances. 

Warning! If you try to share ideas before others are ready to understand, they can turn on you and make you the bad guy. People often filter information based on their past experiences and resist believing that another perspective is valid.

So how can you help? Be compassionate. Acknowledge them and where they’re at non-judgmentally. Communicate how you believe in them and their ability to get through their circumstances. But no pity, feeling sorry for them or meeting them at their emotional level of drama.

Again, you’re not uplifting others while feeling troubled about them. And you may be opening yourself to take on what they’re going through.

It works in reverse, too. Being around positive people aligns you vibrationally to live your personal and professional dreams.

Can You Be Grateful About What Bugs You?

Once I asked someone who’s wise why things in my life weren’t working. I said that I practiced gratitude every morning and night.

The reply I received was what was I doing the rest of the day? 

Gratitude, continuous gratitude, will change your life!

That can seem easier said than done at times, until we realize…

we’re rarely angry for the reason we think we’re angry. How dare they!

That feeling is not necessarily about the other person or situation being wrong. The emotion triggered may be from a similar, emotional memory or our perception that may or may not be accurate.

The reason we have charged emotions is because those challenging feelings surface (and then we get bugged about things) when it’s time for them to be released.

Have you noticed how sometimes people can jump to the wrong conclusion and then become upset by their interpretation, even if it’s false?

Regardless if the other was right or actually the wrongdoer, holding on to a lack of forgiveness or a one-sided, limiting perspective might feel empowering. It might feel validating, proof that you’re right and the other is wrong.

However, there might be another side of the story that’s not being considered because of being locked into a particular viewpoint.

The ego loves feeling right.

But your Essence knows the trap of self-righteousness and sees things differently.

A mother copped an attitude about perceived activity regarding her senior-aged daughter. Things she never did. Not even close. In fact, her accusations were ludicrous.

The whole issue could have been easily dismissed, but not even going to mediation altered her mother’s foolish perspective.

Rather than talking about it or seeing proof to the contrary, she set a court date!

She had her daughter evicted from her house through a court order the day before Thanksgiving. Her daughter had nowhere to go.

By the way, she had invited her daughter, who was down on her luck, to live with her. To do that, she had to sell her car and belongings and move over a thousand miles away.

Replacing her anger, frustration, hurt and fear of what her own mother was doing to her, the daughter began to send her mother love, disregarding any of her mother’s unforgiving attitudes.

The mother began to soften and question her hardline approach.

Empowerment through shifting your perspective to love and gratitude are more truly empowering than feeling justification through a lack of forgiveness or holding onto the feeling of what bugs you. Maybe there’s another angle you’re overlooking.

Perhaps, given an opportunity, you can clear the energy on whatever might be bugging you through discussion or seeing things from a different viewpoint. It doesn’t matter if that does or doesn’t work, love is the greatest healer.

Even if others are convinced you’re wrong, you can be emotionally free.

So if you get annoyed at your world and whatever bugs you about it, consider that there might be another perspective so that you can send love and give thanks, instead.

Neville Goddard on Why You Fail… or Succeed

A friend, who’s been going through challenging times, told me that she got a nudge to open the book The Power of Awareness by Neville Goddard to receive inspiration and direction. She opened it to any page.

She landed on this quote, which she said was the cause of every problem she’s ever had:

“If your concept of yourself is that you are a failure, you would encounter in your imagination a whole series of incidents in conformance to that concept.

“Thus it is clearly seen how you, by your concept of yourself, determine your present, that is, the particular portion of creation which you now experience, and your future, that is, the particular portion of creation which you will experience.” page 43

How can you dissipate a negative self-concept? With your imagination.

Earlier in this chapter on “Creation,” he gives an example.

“What determines the events which you encounter? And the answer is your concept of yourself. Concepts determine the route that attention follows. Here is a good test to prove this fact. Assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled and observe the route that your attention follows. You will observe that as long as you remain faithful to your assumption, so long will your attention be confronted with images clearly related to that assumption. For example; if you assume that you have a wonderful business, you will notice how in your imagination your attention is focused on incident after incident relating to that assumption. Friends congratulate you, tell you how lucky you are… From there your attention goes to larger offices, bigger bank balances, and many other similarly related events. Persistence in this assumption will results in actually experiencing in fact that which you assumed.”

So, dear friend, consider how you can improve your self-concept.

A low opinion of your self is simply a lie that got drilled into your head. Because you believed it, your energy attracted like experiences to you. Then you had visual proof that others or yourself were right.

Likewise, your success is a reflection of your self-concept.

No ideas can rent space in your thinking unless you let it.

Starting right now, think of one way you can change your self-concept, and live more fully the life you love.

Your Money: Feast or Famine

A few months of very sparse sales motivated a former client to once again join one of my mastermind teams to jumpstart his business.

In the last two months, his commission-based income increased dramatically. During a 1:1 session, he outlined every deal he’s closing this summer, totaling over $60,000.

He made a budget before we talked. “The money I’m making will carry me to the end of the year. With it I’ll pay my bills and taxes, buy a new vehicle that I need for my job, set money aside for savings and an emergency fund and get me out of worry.”

Choosing to be fiscally responsible, he felt he could only plan for what he knows for sure that he’ll have.

There were a couple of big telltale signs that he was setting himself up to go from feast to famine. 

First, he reminded me of a bear getting ready for hibernation. The way he talked, it was as if his business would go into a long sleep following the roll he’s now on.

What you see is what you get.

With his vision only focused on generating sales from his current pipeline, his business would only generate sales from his current pipeline. There was no mention of any future business.

Because of his past business scarcity, he was trying to protect himself from another financial shortage. In the process, though, he energetically designed plans for impending famine.

Second, an essential key to manifesting is feeling good first, not waiting until outer circumstances change before you feel good! Like attracts like. Worry does not attract experiences that leave you feeling good.

When we look around at circumstances that suck, it feels natural to complain, whine, get frustrated and angry. But that approach does NOT get us what we want.

I know because I’ve invested much of my life into this strategy. I’ve watched others try to improve their lives by talking about how bad things are.

Things only got worse.

This really is just a habit that digs a deeper hole of misery. It does not create success or financial flow.

Whatever you focus on grows. You’ll feel better focusing on what you choose, not on what you don’t like. (Unless you do that silly “yes BUT” routine of moaning because you’re not there yet… that’s not focusing on what you choose.)

He asked, “How can I know if more money will come if I can’t see it?”

Consider this. Life has a natural flow, and there’s an assumption it will continue without worrying about it.

You trust the sun rises and sets, even if you can’t see it because there are clouds in the sky.

We know, as Jim Morrison said, “No one here gets out alive.” Eventually your heart will stop beating.

Until that time comes, your heart continues to beat. There are steps to take for heart health. Do those. However, there’s no sense living your entire life as if your heart will stop in a few months.

Air is essential to breathe. If there are air issues, address those. However, there’s no sense living your entire life as if you won’t have air to breathe in a few months.

Life has its own flow.

Money has a flow, too.

My client got it. He said, “the beauty is its simplicity. In the past, my thinking about worry created limit.”

He saw how he could trust that the flow will continue in his finances just as the flow in nature continues… unless he stops it by worry.

“It’s insane to be whining, fretting and complaining. Instead, let abundance expand instead of raining on it with negativity.”

He decided “it makes more sense to have clarity, focus and appreciation.”

Allow yourself to trust that you can tap into a money flow. Focus on this flow, not that your money will get divided into little pieces leaving you with nothing.

You are powerful!! Making a choice to be in financial flow, without diluting your energy through worry and negative emotions, can make it so.

If you’re experiencing financial famine, change your focus by looking for natural flows of life.

Connect the dots. If the whole universe runs on flows, you can tap into the flow of financial abundance.

Focus on what you choose.

In the words of Star Trek’s Mr. Spock, “Live long and prosper!”

 

TIP: Are You in the Flow?

In Divine flow. Tapping into the mastermind energy. Aligning with your Soulgoals. Being in the vortex.

What do they mean, how do you know if you’re in it and what difference does it make if you are or you’re not?

To explain what I mean by divine flow, and all of these names lead you to a similar experience, here’s an excerpt from my program Resolved for Results: A Step-by-Step Guide to Do What You Love… even if you failed before, lost hope, are afraid, stressed or confused.

When you choose to be in divine flow, you allow the universal energy and your spirit to take you beyond the daily chaos and ego’s desires.

Divine flow elevates you to a zone beyond fear and resistance, to be at peace with what is. You relax and release fixed ideas of how you think your life should go by knowing there’s a bigger plan in play.

What difference does it make? You choose.

How do you know if you’re OUT of it. (Pun kind of intended.)

When you’re out of or against the flow, it’s like swimming upstream.

Life is hard, frustrating and a struggle. You’re worried, things aren’t working. You’re full of fear, anxiety, lack, limitation, doubting yourself, and business isn’t running smoothly.

I know you’ve experienced these at times. Maybe now.

Imagine changing the channel on your radio.

You have to be on the correct frequency to hear an AM station. If you’re tuned to FM, you won’t receive AM.

When you’re not in the flow, you’re tuned to a channel to receive a bunch of stuff that doesn’t make you feel good.

Then, it’s easy to blame others for problems, health, accidents, finances, break downs, and burdens.

Yeah, all that complaining about things builds energy to generate even bigger problems that make you want to complain more.

Yeah, it seems like it shouldn’t be that way. That we can spew our anger and frustration and somehow life will change because we’re having a hissy fit.

That’s not the way the Universe is set up.

Instead, life matches the way you feel and ups the ante.

There’s a far easier way, if you’re willing to let go of the habit of grumbling and feeling bad about what you don’t like.

If life isn’t working, change your channel.

Feeling grateful is a good place to start.

How you know if you’re IN it.

The momentum you create is like a powerful waterfall.

I took notes during a recent mastermind meeting when a new, team member described her life now:

I’m zipping through life with energy, happiness and vitality. Never in my life have I been happier. Everything gets done. Everything is wonderful. Everyone is great.

Usually my life is like a roller coaster – up and down. Frustrated. Not going right.

Before, business kept me so occupied, I didn’t have time for my creative side – painting and singing.

Now, I paint every day, and the ideas are immense. I see colors and patterns. It’s just incredible. I’m singing in a church choir again. Before, I thought it would take time away from my family. It doesn’t.

Business is going great, and I’m not worried about it. I’m so excited. I don’t have the vocabulary to explain what I’m doing.

She said instead of worry, she visualizes what she chooses for her life throughout the day.

Instead of stress, she sees her business working.

When you focus on what you choose long enough with good feeling mojo, similar to what Olympic athletes do, you’ve tuned into that channel.

Eventually, there’s no gap between where you are and where you choose to be.

You’re in the right place at the right time, saying and doing the right things.

Solutions appear.

You are a living example of being in divine flow.

Your TIP is to give yourself a time-out today from complaining. About anything. Traffic. People. Politics. Finances. Weight. How parts of your life suck.

Let it go.

Simultaneously, choose to be in divine flow.

Maybe you can only manage to do this for two minutes.

Tomorrow, maybe two and a half.

Or backslide and start again immediately.

Being with supportive people who consciously create a vortex of mastermind energy makes it easier than trying to do this all by yourself.

By the way, before posting today’s TIP…  I just got off the phone with an amazing mastermind team – successful people expanding to BIGGER success.

Everyone commented on the joy and excitement to be part of a collective energy with conscious people while tapping into the mastermind energy.

Gratitude Creates Good Feeling Mojo

GratefulWhatever you focus on grows. So that you don’t blow to smithereens your good feeling mojo, let’s start where the land mines are buried.

If good feeling mojo was your lover, would these inspire your sweetheart to run to you with gifts of money, love and health or get blasted back to an undesirable past?

  • Fussing up because people are idiots, things are complicated and your career or business deals aren’t working… again.
  • Wanting money but complaining that the system is rigged so it’s hard to get.
  • Can’t figure out why God has broken His promise to you because of what’s happened.
  • Feeling worried until you get the next doctor’s report.
  • Thinking repeatedly about how someone has done you wrong.
  • Looking for satisfaction while blaming, complaining or things being infuriating.

Money, love and health aren’t found on the pity pot vibe (Oh, and I’ve unsuccessfully tried so hard to be saved from mine.)

Misery loves company. Regardless of what you say you want, if you’re sending silent messages of struggle, suffering and sadness, your energy would bring you more of the same… more of what you feel but don’t want.

If your business or life mirror a Looney Tunes episode, don’t look for the bogey man. Instead, start with good feeling mojo every day.

You can change how you feel by changing your perspective.

 “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey

Once, when my life had fallen apart, I couldn’t feel grateful about anything. I was separated, depressed, and in no mood to focus on business.

Gratitude. Interesting concept. The end.

However, I heard a story about someone who went through hard times, and being grateful was her magic key. She climbed out of the hole she was in, got a great job, new friends and turned her life completely around.

Hmmm, okay. I decided to give it a try with no clue of where to begin.

Suddenly, lost in thought about “woe is me” while walking through a greenbelt at dusk, I snapped out of my trance.

Stories from the news popped in my head about snipers on roof tops in a war torn country. They killed people who had to run across an open space to get water.

But, I had zero concern about my physical safety. I had basic needs. Water. No bullets or bombs threatened me. Roof over my head. AC when it’s hot and heat when it’s cold. I was alive. There was so much to appreciate, however I didn’t see it because I was looking in the wrong direction.

I woke up to gratitude and the blessings of how people were there for me. Even though much wasn’t working, a lot was. So, I redirected my focus to where I could find gratitude. I began to feel better. As I did, my life got better, too.

If you’re looking for an abundance of business, money, love, support or health, focusing on what’s working will bring you more of what’s working.

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” Eckhart Tolle

TIP: Gratitude Creates Good Feeling Mojo

Especially  during this time of giving thanks, take time to reflect on what you’re grateful for. The more you’re grateful, the more good feeling mojo you create. The more good feeling mojo you have, the more success you experience.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” Buddha

YOU DON’T OWN ME

While driving, a friend told me that he had to pull over to the side of road to scream at his thoughts to shut up. It reminds me of these lyrics: “You don’t own me. I’m not just one of your many toys… And don’t tell me what to do. And don’t tell me what to say… So just let me be myself. That’s all I ask of you.”

Few welcome being controlled, yet most are controlled by feelings and thoughts they don’t want. Who hasn’t been plagued by beating themselves up with worry and fear over money; stress about time or relationships; grief; suffering over the way they look or feel; confusion over what to do; sadness or countless other ways of feeling bad? That’s why many turn to drugs, alcohol, food, and blaming others.

What to do? Gotta DO something. Ah yes, the default response: analyze, take time to process, wrap your brain around it or intellectually understand.

But here’s the trickster’s game. Because our computer/ brain was never programmed with how to get rid of these feelings and thoughts, we end up feeling worse because we can’t find answers by looking there. Or we get ideas that we can’t make work… but we keep trying anyway. As a client said, it’s like going to a dry well looking for a drink of water, and the well is toxic anyway.

Regardless, most have a habit of trying to figure out how to let go of the way they feel, and they often can’t allow themselves to hear anything that doesn’t center around mental solutions. If you’ve done this, it’s an indicator that you’ve given your power to your ego to control you, own you, instead of claiming mastery of your life.

Results? As like attracts like, if you’re feeling negative you’ll attract more negativity. Positive attracts positive.

If you feel unwanted emotions, who’s having you feel this way? They may have started with childhood messages or emerged because of circumstances, but there’s no one in your head telling you to think or feel this way.

As you’re the one who’s doing it, you CAN choose to do something differently.

Before you start beating yourself up about having beaten yourself up, there’s NOT something pathetically wrong with you. It’s the way the ego works, and we all have one. BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO CONTROL YOUR LIFE, MAKE YOU FEEL MISERABLE, DRIVE YOU NUTS OR HOLD YOU BACK FROM MAKING YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!

Everything is energy, and the energy from thoughts or feelings can be released. They’re only feelings. They don’t have to own you.

Years ago while we were talking, a friend of mine felt anxiety about her upcoming divorce. I suddenly felt anxiety in my gut, but hers was gone. I said I didn’t want it and gave it back to her. We laughed as we bounced it back and forth between us before deciding to let it go. In other words, we could control the presence and absence of this gut-wrenching feeling which meant we could simply let it go. This includes any feeling! You can do the same.

Instead of acting helpless in the grips of Robo-Ego, know that you’re in charge and feelings can leave.

Here are a few tips:

  • If you want or need something, you’re coming from lack. You’ll be perpetually in a place of wanting instead of having what you choose.
  • What you resist persists. Although it sounds counter-intuitive, if you don’t like something, you’re holding onto it.
  • When you let go of trying to control, wanting validation or desiring safety, you can have them.

Ever notice when men or women want a relationship? The objects of their desire want to run. Same thing with money, health or anything.

The freedom everyone longs for breezes in when we let go because then we allow our spirit, our wise self within, to be in charge. It can happen in seconds not years. But we block ourselves from having what we really, really want when we clutch onto yucky feelings in our chest or gut or being stuck in our heads.

There are underlying beliefs we’ve tucked away that impact us, but they can be prompted to surface and be released. Everyone has the ability to let go although some resist. So, we come back to who owns you? You DO have a choice.

Because the ego is at the core of all the lack of success and suffering we experience, I’m more than happy to share phenomenally effective tools I’ve recently learned. These allow you to unravel patterns and release the ego’s incessant drone of control, disapproval and creating insecurity so instead you experience true freedom and make your dreams come true.

Here’s a practical demonstration of what letting go can do about relationships and money:

Toward the end of my second time participating in the Resolved for Results (RFR) course, I decided to try one of Virginia’s sessions designed to help clear the ego of its default “methods of operation.”

At first I resisted. I didn’t want to add anything more to my plate, even knowing that it would more than likely exponentially assist me in clearing old programs that were blocking my progress. I thought, “I can do this later.” It was really no surprise, given the success I had with RFR, when I witnessed the synchronicity of events on the day I agreed to do the session.

I realized when I arrived at Virginia’s that I had forgotten my card I had written my issues on for our session. No problem—Virginia picked up on the issues I had forgotten.

It was a great session and Virginia was very gracious with her time. It was sometime after I got home that I found the card I wrote my issues on and noticed my husband’s handwriting on the back of it. Although I hadn’t gone into any details about what I was going to talk about, he had picked up on many of the issues Virginia and I had discussed and very sensitively and lovingly addressed them bringing me to tears. The issues were about control and security although we had what I considered to be a good relationship.

One of the great blessings was realizing on a much deeper level that everything we think and feel about someone, they know, whether spoken or not. Our judgments have a big impact on our lives and can block our progress. I began to see how my judgments driven by ego, no matter how quickly I thought I let them go, were really hanging around. My need for control and security was larger than I had imagined.

Additionally, I had a business contract that was ready to renew. Not only did it renew but I was offered more money than before!

What I walked away with were skills that I can use in my everyday life when I catch myself in my own ego traps. I feel much more at peace in situations and very much at ease with who I am. I’m comfortable with my need for control and security at times—I just love them unconditionally and release them unconditionally. I have learned to let go of many things I had so tightly hung onto out of an unconscious fear. The world keeps spinning but I don’t have to. I would recommend this session to anyone whether you think you are “ready or not”!

YOU KNOW MORE THAN YOU THINK

You’re programmed for low self-esteem and to give away your power. Not just you. Everyone’s brainwashed living in their own hypnotic trance. Part of the gig on earth is to snap out of it.

It starts innocently enough with directives like “draw inside the lines.” We obediently follow to fit in. That’s the hook. Fit in to survive. I mean, how else can a little kid make it in this world without going along with family and society’s customs – even if they’re wacky and don’t make sense?

Did you hear this? “When you’re under my roof, you’ll do what I say.” Then, miraculously, when you move out you turn on a switch and think for yourself. More likely, the programmed voice in your head continues until you realize it’s an old recording.

Myths start early. Do you know any people who stepped on a crack on a sidewalk and broke their mother’s back?

How about obeying authority figures? If doctors or others recommend flu shots or anything they think you should do and doubt your sanity if you decline, do you give your power away by going along because “they” know better, everybody does it,  or you don’t like conflict?

Maybe you journeyed into alternative remedies. Do you give your power away to holistic professionals, stones, pills or potions to heal you or so you can revel in eternal youth?

Consider that any healing starts within and radiates to your thoughts, feelings and physical body.

When this current travels inside to out, whatever you use externally can truly work. Otherwise, you’re giving your power away to something outside of you but feeling clever, at least for as long as the “healing” sticks.

Step back from your emotions, opinions, the way you’ve always seen things, knee jerk reactions, fear, anger, stress, anxiety, and worry. Let’s go deeper.

Your association with a product, technique, love-of-your-life or belief alters how you feel, and you respond like a tuning fork resonating with a frequency. Nevertheless, only YOU can maintain that vibration with your thoughts, attitudes, perspectives and feelings. It may be easier to stay in tune with consistent contact. But, if you’re looking for the fountain of youth, even plastic surgery won’t help if bitterness replaced a young-at-heart attitude.

For whatever you seek, God, the Infinite Source, is your supply.

You have the power NOW to create what you choose. Awaken to this, and you attract supportive people, circumstances, and things.

Everything is given according to your belief. By connecting to the remembrance within that you’re made in the image and likeness of God, you can realize you are way more than enough. (Otherwise God would be a slouch, and that just ain’t true. Excuse me, God. Just sayin’.) The more you believe and align with this, the more you’re in divine flow and row, row, rowing down the stream.

Life can provide evidence to prove the opposite, too. However, believing you’re a helpless slug slithering over the soil leaves a slimy shadow.

The reason people are able to create miracles is they ask for them, believe, are open to receive, and have faith and confidence life will provide.

Me? I got a Ph.D. in 11th hour saves. Why? Because it took me that long to let go and trust. I used worry as a strategy. Spoiler alert: worry only makes things worse.

Strong emotional reactions skew perspective, too. By the way, they have nothing to do with what you think you’re upset about. They’re often from unresolved pain or the irritation of having given away your power. Blaming others is giving your power away, too. Take responsibility. Look deeper.

Everyone has childhood experiences where fear ruled. My highly charged, emotional upbringing with screaming parents introduced me to fear as my companion. Like holding onto a childhood blanket, I continued the legacy of anxiety into adulthood by attracting stressful situations. It really didn’t matter what it was: health; relationships; financial; whatever. As long as something went wrong, I could feel that ole, familiar, sickening dread.  Like everyone else, I have stuff to deal with, but I’m not entertaining the emotions of fear-worry-stress as houseguests anymore.

What emotional instant replays do you have?

What emotions do you usually feel when you’re down for the count? Awareness leads to freedom.

Instead of automatically giving your power to an emotion, your taste buds, the next shiny object, any member of genus Homo sapiens, the internet, a calendar date, scientists, politicians or habits, take a deep breath and question. Question everything, including cherished beliefs. What’s the truth underneath? Find quiet time and journal. Amazing insights emerge, and your self-confidence rises.

You’re not alone in this process. You know the rug that stuff got swept under? Life is forcing everyone to clear out those dust bunnies and move on.

Make a clean sweep by seeing through illusions and making empowering choices. It’s never too late.

In the words of Dr. Benjamin Spock, “Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.”

HOW I TURNED MY LIFE AROUND

Willie Nelson sings about life going from one crazy thing to another in his lyrics “last thing I needed first thing this morning was to have you walk out on me.” Welcome to what my world – was.

It started innocently a few months ago with my cat waking me up daily at 4:45 AM to go out. I couldn’t get back to sleep, didn’t stop to take naps, and stayed up until midnight. Too many activities and long days fried my adrenals, and I had to take a couple of weeks off from work. With my energy at its lowest and pain from a jammed hip bone at its highest, I received shocking news about a friend that left me reeling.

Because of my exhaustion I was more susceptible to things affecting me, and the downward spiral began. My computer broke. I ordered a new PC only to learn most of my address book had to be manually replaced – this saga continued for five weeks. My AC stopped working in 100° weather. Meantime, my cell phone went awry, and I missed a group coaching call. My headset, mouse and income went kaput, and even my toilet clogged. To say working was a challenge is an understatement.

I kept positive by going to sleep and waking up focused on gratitude and journaled about what was working. However, during the day, I thought about what wasn’t working.

I felt sad resignation as I listened almost imperceptibly to my deceased mother’s mantra “if it’s not one thing, it’s another.” An old program of what-else-can-go-wrong ran in the background.

After a while I lost interest in bouncing back and thought I’d ride it out to the bottom.

HERE’S WHAT I MISSED

Imagine going to work wearing a great pair of shoes and tie or handbag… dressed in shabby pajamas. Likewise, I thought I was upbeat because I gave verbiage to being positive and practiced gratitude in the morning and night. However, my beat up attitude was running like a computer program in the background.

Sandwiched throughout the day between my positive focus, I visualized and felt what I didn’t want – what next? I used my attention and depleted energy to spin around what was wrong instead of what I chose to happen. So, I created more problems.

God was neither punishing or ignoring me. Life didn’t have it in for me. There wasn’t a metaphoric lesson or karma catching up. I wasn’t cursed, and Satan wasn’t interfering. I wasn’t doing anything wrong that needed a pause to redirect. I was enough and doing enough, and I wasn’t doomed for failure. I wasn’t doing any of the gazillion conclusions people erroneously come to when they wonder why is this happening to me. Why aren’t things working?

No outside force was responsible for my life. I created results from my attitude and attention. The universe energetically matched my thoughts and feelings.

Energy flows where attention goes. What else can go wrong? My prayers were answered. The universe replied with new calamities.

Visualizing isn’t just what happens during a visualization exercise. It includes predominant feelings and thoughts during the day.

You, too, create more of what you focus on and can make new choices. You can do it without owies from beating yourself up or building a case to support the stories you tell about your life.

THESE 5 STEPS CAN HELP YOU THROUGH CHALLENGES:

  1. Ask your inner powerhouse, your soul energy, to empower you.
  2. Visualize with feeling what you choose throughout the day.
  3. Take one step at a time.
  4. Find and implement ways to rest and take care of yourself instead of tolerating fatigue.
  5. Talk with supportive people. Masterminding your goals and dreams empowers you and refocuses your vision.

Remember, the fastest way out of a hole is to stop digging it. No matter what’s going on, it’s not going to last forever. This too shall pass.

CHALLENGED? 5 CHOICES FOR AN EASIER LIFE

 Life presents challenges. How you respond – your emotional choices and mental focus – is YOUR choice. You can get sucked into the quicksand of negative emotions, railing against the world and how tough everything is, focus on what’s not working and bemoan your tale of woes with others or in your head… and attract the opposite of what you want.

 Or you can make a different choice.

 Some of my clients are in the midst of the most heart-wrenching experiences of their lives. One left a country where he worked over three years in a highly regarded profession to interview for a job. His current position finishes in three months, and so far all his efforts to find new employment haven’t produced results. Frustrated by multiple rejection letters – literally, where in the world will this gifted man live and create an income? This follows a year of intense personal and professional challenges.

 Upon his return, immigration blocked his re-entry because of visa problems. He was arrested, detained and deported back to the city where he had just interviewed. Banned to go back for his belongings at work and home which is also where his girlfriend lives, he has no cell phone or office to continue his job search. His attorney says there is no help legally and made excuses for not properly advising him.

 At first he was in shock and emailed “I AM REALLY F___ED… I am devastated, exhausted, overwhelmed and at the end of my wits.”

 Soon after, he Skyped me from a computer in a noisy café for a session.

 Decision time: be the victim and miserable in a living hell or surrender and have faith that there’s a divine purpose and something positive will come of this.

 Feelings and thoughts manifest. His personal honesty allowed him to see how he created this experience – he really didn’t want to work at his job or be in that country anymore. This situation assured he wouldn’t spend another minute there.

 He also has a strong desire to dump childhood patterns and traumas. Realizing his former tension and aggressiveness stemmed from being where he wasn’t appreciated, he chooses now to use this time as a transformation to express his positive nature.

 Cut free from the burden of having to go back, the following day brought a feeling of liberation, contentment and a sense of being in a divine comedy.

 With his newfound attitude, his nightmare vanished like a bad dream after waking up. “I’m in the right place at the right time, and I know there’s opportunity here. I have friends and feel that I’m amongst kindred spirits in this city. I have to take action and not be complacent. My girlfriend and colleagues will pack up my things, and she’ll bring them here next month. She wanted to move away from there anyway. I’m looking at life with childlike wonder knowing my good is here. I feel purposeful. I’ll figure it out and make it work.” 

Months of anxiety and fear about finding a job and where it would be disappeared, too. It’s either in this city and country or something better.

 I asked him to pick an image to reflect his perspective. He chose Fred Astaire – light and with good technique.

 You can transform any situation in your life by choosing to: 

  1. Let go of the exhausting struggle: your story of your hard life and what if the worse happens. Write it down and burn or shred it. Choose to let it go! Repeat as needed.
  2. Change your perspective from one that creates stress and deteriorates your health and finances to one where you surrender to a divine source with an attitude of anticipating the best. Look for the positive in any situation; it’s always there.
  3. Stop thinking and talking about what’s wrong and instead focus on what’s working
  4. Enjoy quality time with those who nipped the self-indulgent habit of #1-3.
  5. Take action in the direction of your dreams.

 As you gently let go of the struggle, you’ll float to the top of the quicksand of fear and move to the shore of creativity and abundance.
