How to Make Your Life Easier in 3 Seconds… and Einstein’s Opinion of the Universe

January 30, 2023

Ever start your day with dread? You don’t know how you’re going to get things done. Worried about what your spouse, boss or kids are going to say or do. Wondering how you’re going to get more money.

You may not mean it, but haphazard musings create intentions that cascade throughout your day. If you begin your morning with fear, anxiety or lack of direction, life will present you with a smorgasbord of experiences to match.

December was super busy for me. I launched my days thinking about my To Do list, random thoughts, what happened yesterday… just anything. The results were a crisis a week that miraculously got solved – but what a roller coaster ride.

I had taken a break from what I know works – a moment of quiet time to go within and consciously set intentions. As the year rolled in, I realized it made sense to take three seconds to say:

I CHOOSE TO BE IN DIVINE FLOW.

I often add a few extra game changers such as I choose divine ______, such as order, timing, communication, financial abundance, grace and ease or whatever could help me with current circumstances.

A couple of weeks later, I noticed how everyday had been astounding. I was still busy and productive yet not overwhelmed – as long as I remembered to choose to be in divine flow.

I also noticed that if I didn’t react, but instead let certain situations play out, even things that appeared to be two sandwiches short of a lunch, were fulfilling.

It’s mind boggling that saying these words, that only takes about three seconds, can manifest such profound results.

Imagine going to a ticket counter at a train station. If you reserve a seat on any train, you could land in an urban jungle. But divine flow is different. You’re allowing the life force to guide you, surrendering control to a Master Planner who has your best interest at heart.

If you question that life is supportive, consider these words:

“I think the most important question facing humanity is,’Is the universe a friendly place?’ This is the first and most basic question all people must answer for themselves.”

“If we decide that the universe is neither friendly nor unfriendly and that God is essentially ‘playing dice with the universe,’ then we are simply victims to the random toss of the dice and our lives have no real purpose or meaning.”

“God does not play dice with the universe.”

Albert Einstein

Your life isn’t random. You’re not a victim. You have the ability to consciously design your life with the divine.

Don’t believe it? Discover this co-creation by running an experiment. Choose to be in divine flow daily for two weeks. Not just any flow – not your neighbor’s or that of people at work. Divine Flow. Affirm with an attitude of faith not desperation. If you forget in the morning, do it later. I’ve now included it as a non-negotiable way to start my day, right up there with going to the bathroom.

Now it’s your turn to “row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.  Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily. Life is but a dream.” It’s a dream you’re creating.

Are You Going in the Right Direction?

August 29, 2022

You don’t have to hit bottom before making changes. Instead, there’s a way to read the signs and know when it’s time to go in another direction.

These people were ready to go off the deep end and drown in a pool of their own outrage.

• A businesswoman got upset when she received information that stopped an important deal in its tracks.
• Because her boss has it in for her, another woman wondered if she should leave her job.
• Ready to begin his vacation, a man got angry when he discovered his property had been trashed.

However, when they noticed their emotions were getting the best of them, each stepped back, observed and course corrected by changing their attitudes.

What was the sign that alerted them to shift?

They didn’t feel good because they were angry. From this awareness, they knew they were on the wrong track and out-of-alignment with their inner GPS. When emotions are high, it clouds our ability to hear guidance accurately that comes from our Essence.

A clue that let’s you know if you’re going in the right direction is how you feel.

________________________________________

What can you do if you’re not happy about something? Empower yourself by releasing the emotions and be open to take action on new options.

That can take some practice, and it’s an acquired skill.

Yet the faster you notice you’re not feeling good, before momentum runs away to the point of no return, the easier it is to redirect your focus to more productive perspectives and solutions.

By the way, that’s what each one in the above examples did.

Each discovered great resolutions to their issues. How? They made conscious choices not to let their emotions get the best of them. They paused, pivoted and headed in a new direction.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a new challenge or if you’re wondering how the heck your life got to this point; you can choose now to change direction.

Don’t feel bad and spin your wheels wondering why you’re on a particular track. Just make a decision to change.

No sense in beating yourself up, either, as it doesn’t help.

You’re definitely not alone in needing to change direction. It’s so common, we have lots of way of saying it.

• Get a fresh start
• Begin a new chapter
• Do-over
• Turn this ship around
• Turn a new leaf
• Pivot
• Course correct
• Shift gears

The good news is that you’re alive so there’s time for a change, even if it’s just your attitude.

Are you going in the right direction?

Well, are you having fun yet?

Sometimes all it takes is changing the way you see things for the answers to make themselves known.

Can You Make More Money if You Enjoy Yourself?’

April 11, 2022

Life isn’t meant to be an endurance test. It’s a gift for you to appreciate and enjoy.

If challenging things are happening or happened to you, you might wonder why.

It’s NOT a punishment, especially not from God or the universe!

It won’t help to look for whose fault it is or to blame yourself or others.

It’s not because you did something wrong or you’re not good enough!!!

It’s because your very essence, your soul /spirit/ higher wisdom, is guiding you toward new opportunities to learn lessons, make new choices, think and feel differently, stop being angry or afraid, take your power back, live in greater joy, or to be in closer alignment with who you really are.

And, from this authentic place, express your gifts to the world.

Whaaattt?! You may think there is zero way you would have brought this to yourself.

You’re right. Of course, none of us in our everyday thinking would ask for unfavorable circumstances!

However, our essence knows the spiritual lessons we are to learn, and it takes these as a higher priority over our physical comfort.

“Whatever happens to us originates in the mind.”

— Lester Levenson

The good news is that we can CHOOSE to learn these lessons with GRACE AND EASE.

It’s time for an enhanced awakening – to remember your life is not meant to be laborious and a struggle but to be lived more true to You than ever before.

The question is how conscious do you choose to be in the process? How hard do you make it?

You can choose to learn your lessons in a gentle way by decreeing it so.
You can make a choice: I choose _________ (you fill in the blank).

At the end of your life, you can look back with no regrets and say, “I learned a lot. I loved. And I enjoyed the ride.”

How much you enjoy life is a litmus test to know if you’re living in alignment with your soul.

Your head tells you what you think you should do, which isn’t always supportive to you or others.

Which is which – guidance from your head or inner Beingness? Ask yourself if you’re really enjoying all aspects of your life?

Your soul guides you to be in a rhythm with Life, with the Life force, with divine flow.

Make the connection:

  • When you feel good about you and enjoy life, you attract good things.
  • Because you feel life has more meaning than day-to-day concerns, you’re happier.
  • Because you’re happier, your activities flow more smoothly.
  • When it does, you make more money and are more effective at whatever you do.
  • This generates more productivity, and you get more done.
  • You live inspired, creative and express your precious gifts with the world.

Even in hardship, you can appreciate and enjoy being alive. It’s a perspective.

If you feel life is hard, one challenge after another, waiting for the other shoe to fall, what else can go wrong – you’re in fear, not in the flow. And with this energy you’ll attract more circumstances to match what you’re feeling, which creates a vicious circle of what you don’t want.

You can choose to see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, appreciate acts of kindness and focus on gratitude and love.

Enjoying life is not frivolous, an aside to what’s really important or an optional cherry on the cake.
ENJOYING LIFE IS THE CAKE!

What can you do to enjoy yourself more? Take time to do it because it’s YOUR life, and your life is not a means to an end. There are no brownie points to endure it. Instead, make conscious choices to enjoy your gift of being alive.

You deserve to enjoy yourself, and you are so very much worth it.

Worried? Do This Instead.

October 4, 2021

How are you going to get out of this one?

“I am old and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.”
Mark Twain

I was sure I failed the test, and like a bully, worry stalked and tormented me for a week. When the scores finally came in, I learned that I got the highest mark in my class.

Although in third grade, I realized that the agony I created served no purpose.  After reflection, I thought another approach to future upsets would be better.

I told myself: Worrying doesn’t feel good. And if what you’re worrying about doesn’t happen, it’s a lot of feeling bad for nothing.

As an adult I learned that when there really is a problem, I’m better off to get clear on the issue and then focus on the solution rather than on what’s not working.

If needed, we can accept that we are worrying, without judging the situation or the fact that we are bothering to worry. By choosing acceptance we are no longer prisoner to our reactive patterns. Freedom greets us as we open our cell door. When this happens the worry-jailer’s job is done.

Consider this:

  • Our programming for worry is based on past situations that created unfavorable results.
  • We design our future with our present thoughts and feelings.
  • Therefore, energizing fearful thoughts with worry is a shortcut to what we don’t want to come into our lives in the future.

“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”
Job 3:25

Worry projects us into a world of make-believe what-ifs and creates fear. It’s an indicator that we are living in the future, not in present time.

How do we stay in the present? By surrendering to what is rather than what we think something could or should be. Acknowledging what a situation or person is assists us to be conscious. In doing so, we can see more clearly and take more productive action, too.

If there is a situation that needs addressing, being in the present, rather than in a reactive and emotional state, opens us to receive insights and alternatives more easily.

Humans are wired with the ability to handle life’s situations in this moment of time.

However, we can not cope effectively with mental tapes that project hypothetical, fear-based, future problems.

I was delighted when I read a passage in a great book by Satyam Nadeen.

There’s a part of us that simply watches what’s going on, like seeing a play. I sometimes call it the observer self.

Nadeen refers to this aspect as the Witness. It’s detached about what goes on and doesn’t care about the drama that monkey mind, others or our own, creates about a situation. This drains the life force from worry. In fact, from this vantage point, what we’re worrying about can be rather humorous.

“Each of the countless times a day that the mind or some other person asks ‘why’ about any and every situation that arises (just as a good little mind is supposed to do), the Witness always responds: ‘Don’t know, don’t care!’”

Satyam Nadeen, From Seekers to Finders,
The Myth and Reality about Enlightenment

How can we change a pattern of worry? Decide to let it go. Let worry go. Choose to release the habit. Ask the highest part of ourselves to release the pattern and replace it with awareness to navigate through life in a different way… living in present time with grace and ease.

“Nothing can be attained without suffering but at the same time one must begin by sacrificing suffering.”

Gurdjieff

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to look at a situation that’s causing you worry from a perspective of “Don’t Know, Don’t Care.”  Consider a viewpoint where letting go of worry supports you to find peace and resolution to whatever is concerning you.

With a zest for Life,
Virginia

Success Thought:

Mark Twain once said that one way of getting a silly tune out of your head is to put in another. Instead of the worry tune, you can use Bobby McFerrin’s melodic approach of “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”

“In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy
Don’t worry, be happy now.”

4 Ways to Get Unstuck… and how you create unnecessary pain and suffering

July 20, 2020

Feeling stalled out or stuck during Covid time? There are ways to free yourself – like untangling or cutting loose a cat who’s balled up in yarn. By the way, just because it’s stuck, there’s nothing wrong with the cat anymore than there’s anything wrong with you!

To help you unravel your stuckness, here’s an excerpt from my program Soulgoals: A Step-by-Step Guide to Live Your Dreams… even if you failed before, lost hope, are afraid, stressed or confused.

A client who emailed a request to her mastermind team wrote, “I have calls out to people, but things seem stuck.” Her goal was well written and specific, including her filling appointments for three cities and a meet and greet.

I felt the fear under her request and called her. She told me she felt pressure because an out-of-state manager was flying in, and she didn’t have appointments scheduled.

We discussed anticipating the best and letting go of expectation. Part of this letting go was a preoccupation with numbers – the number of bookings. Instead, I recommended she focus on the quality of appointments vs. the quantity.

The next night she sent us a long email. “I woke up fresh and energetic, turned things over to my CEO (God)… I decided that I was not going to “push” to “make” anything happen.” [Her bold print]

Results? Before the end of that day, key people either returned her calls to book or called prospects on her behalf to fill the appointments for her! A big client contacted her to book four trainings.

She hosted a successful event that afternoon plus found a perfect venue for a board member retreat following an unsuccessful month-long search.

If you hold onto how you expect life should be, what a person should do or act, or what’s supposed to fulfill you, you not only limit yourself but you block your success and create unnecessary pain and suffering.

Why? If things don’t turn out as you expected, you can get disappointed. However, if you set intentions but stop trying to control exactly how the outcomes should appear, you let go and let God.

Expectations can pull you away from the present moment and foist you into an imagined future of potential disappointment, discouragement, frustration, sadness, anger, or helplessness.

The beauty of the present moment is that it opens you to what’s in alignment with your soul. If one way doesn’t work, there’s a reason. Something better is available… if you allow it into your world.

Instead of longing for what mighta, woulda, coulda or shoulda been, notice the gift of accepting what is. By not resisting, you open yourself energetically to infinite possibilities.

Anticipating the best instead of expecting specific outcomes makes your words more powerful and opens you to results designed for the highest and best interest for all. It’s an important lesson, and I invite you to consider it in case it’s making the difference between creating difficulties or catapulting you to greater success and abundance.

4 Ways to Get Unstuck

It’s important to identify where you feel stuck. Feeling stuck is an emotional response that can leave you feeling there’s no way out. Here are four alternatives that can help:

  1. You’re frustrated because you’re trying to control the outcome by expecting it (or people) to be the way you think it should. Alternative: Relax and anticipate this or something better will occur. Stop trying to micromanage the world. This opens you to tune into new ideas and directions.
  2. You’re beating yourself up with regrets or other limiting thoughts and emotions because of your situation. Alternative: Release judging you, others and your circumstances. Replace it with an empowering perspective that you’re learning, so is everyone else, and all is in divine order and timing.
  3. You’re focusing on how things aren’t working. Alternative: focus on what you choose and the good feeling mojo it creates. Good feeling mojo is what opens you to manifest more quickly and with grace and ease.
  4. You’re pushing to make things happen. Alternative: Stop resisting (and exhausting yourself about) what is and allow things to be the way they are. You getting fussy about it won’t change it or help. Let go. Let God. Set new goals for what you choose. Take action from this perspective.

Feeling stuck may be a clue that it’s time to change direction or attitude. You might have to let go of what you’re holding onto to make way for something even better!

When you shift your energy, you allow life to create miracles and successes beyond your wildest expectations.

Life or Biz Up and Down? Waiting for a Change? Plus Quotes by ECKHART TOLLE

March 25, 2019

A woman’s business had been in desperate straits for several months. Immediately after coaching with me, her phone rang with new clients, deals closed in avalanches of abundance and her sales far surpassed her goal of $1 million a month.

However, in the subsequent month, her active deals dropped again to zero. This was an old pattern of hers – the roller coaster of feast or famine – and it always led to her feeling exhausted.

When I asked about clients in her pipeline, she described how she was frustrated by waiting for them to complete their preparation before they could actively move forward.

Her focus was on waiting to see what they were going to do. Emotionally, the waiting weighed heavily on her. As she had difficulty thinking of anything else, she felt dispirited and immobilized.

Why, when she was doing so well, was this happening… again?

Just like infection-fighting, white blood cells attack germs that have gotten into a wound, your spirit comes to your aid by highlighting germ-like, limiting beliefs you harbor.

How? By surfacing your issues, you have an opportunity to see them more clearly or repeat the typical way you respond. When you see them, you can release patterns that don’t serve you and do things differently.

We frequently are staunch defenders of why we must believe the way we do and stubbornly hold on to the way we look at things. This is why the same limiting circumstances recur repeatedly.

Her inner spirit, once again, revealed the domino effect of her self-sabotage:

  • She was waiting for something outside herself to dictate her focus, and it froze her into inaction.
  • Her thoughts made her feel bad.
  • Thinking about it from this perspective exhausted her.
  • She felt so deflated that she wasn’t inspired to do anything else.
  • Then she attracted little business, which matched her deflated feelings.

A more powerful approach was to do everything she could to help her current deals. We talked about new strategies she could implement. Then move on. It’s called NEXT!

She let go of waiting and replaced it with a new action plan. By the end of her session, she felt lighter and energized to move forward.

Here’s how she changed to activate a more empowering domino effect:

  • Her old habit, mentally and physically, was to wait for things to fall into place the way she thought they should before taking action.
  • This time, she realized she’d do what she could now, and let the rest unfold in divine right timing.
  • This opened up mental space to let go of her fixation and instead redirect her focus to other activities.
  • The heaviness she usually felt shifted to the excitement of possibilities.
  • She became inspired with ideas to take effective action.
  • Having created a more powerful, energetic center of influence, she magnetized herself to attract more and better business.

Here’s what Eckhart Tolle says about waiting:

“You don’t have to wait for something ‘meaningful’ to come into your life so that you can finally enjoy what you do. There is more meaning in joy than you will ever need. The ‘waiting to start living’ syndrome is one of the most common delusions of the unconscious state.”

“Don’t wait to be successful at some future point; have a successful relationship with the present moment and be fully present in whatever you are doing. That is success.”

“Give up waiting as a state of mind. When you catch yourself slipping into waiting…snap out of it. Come into the present moment. Just be and enjoy being.”

“Waiting is a state of mind that says we want what we don’t have. Therefore, with every kind of waiting we produce an inner conflict between now and the projected future. This greatly reduces the quality of our life. Are you a ‘habitual waiter’?”

Are you a habitual waiter? If so, you can change, instead of waiting for change, by making new choices!

Are Negative People Dragging You Down?

June 11, 2018

downer

“What caused you to generate over $7.6 million in sales in just the first five months of this year but only $3.5 million in sales last year,” I asked.

He replied, “I didn’t realize what a downer my employee was on my attitude. What a negative drag on me! I didn’t want to deal with her. When she quit, a dark cloud lifted.”

“After she left, I had to step up my game, starting with my attitude that was in a funk. I used to spend days frustrated and mad at her, which stopped me from doing positive things.

“I had a choice: be positive and grateful or stay in a funk, which equaled less productivity. I chose to embrace my new freedom and move forward.

“Was I going to operate by myself or replace her? I decided I didn’t need a crutch nor did I need to hire anybody. Instead, I decided to have a better attitude.”

The reason he held onto his employee for so long is that he didn’t have her computer skills, which are essential in his business. So he leaned on her, although it was an ongoing struggle. She acted like she owned the business and he was her employee, even though he is a well-seasoned expert in his field!

“I’m way happier now. I changed from being needy, clutchy, clingy and dependent. My confidence is back.”

He continued by saying, “The Law of Attraction is real. Asking the universe is real.”

Life reflected back to him what was in his attitude and focus – lack and frustration or abundance and happiness.

“The difference between the last five months and the previous 18 months is a slow creep of frustration, despair and anger, which had weaved its web around me.

“Now I’m blessed with an abundance of opportunities because of a change in my current attitude, mindset and outlook.

He got his lesson about negative people dragging him down:

“Two weeks ago, I even fired a client who was disrespectful, unappreciative and not following my recommendations.”

After he explained the circumstances, it was clear that their business relationship had been headed for a miserable dead end. Now, not feeling needy for money or anything else, he no longer was willing to put up with the client’s attitude, which increasingly would’ve become an unproductive and unsatisfying investment of his own time and energy.

He learned his lesson about how negative people can drag him down and how it becomes a slippery slope that can leave a person hitting bottom wondering, “What just happened? How did I get here?”

Are you allowing negative people in your life?  If so, what price are you paying for that choice? What are you learning?

It’s okay if you are. We all learn by discovering that a choice of action may not produce the results for which we hoped. However, you can make new choices. Again. And again…

You have options, such as a change in attitude, a change in people or circumstances.

Or maybe you’ll discover that there’s something about you that’s creating a downer for others.

Einstein is quoted to have said: “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

A common trap is to expect solutions to come in a way using familiar thinking, even though that thinking is what created our problems. We sometimes look for validation that we’re right instead of being willing to receive new ideas, tools and insights.

Howard Hestand, a client who improved his portfolio 80% in three months, expressed his shift in thinking like this. Although he’s referring to my Soulgoals program, I mention it because these are key elements for anyone looking to change for the better.

“This course taught me a different way of thinking, how to listen to myself, be more observational about the ego and set effective goals and intentions.”

To solve problems, regardless if you’ve been “downed” or the downer, the way out is being open to new approaches. As Einstein implies, the new thinking will be different from how we believe life works.

You Don’t Have to Push Yourself Harder

February 12, 2018
do it because you love it

What I’m about to tell you is opposite to what most of us learned is the way to achieve success.

Forget about:

  • No pain, no gain.
  • You have to work hard for what you want.
  • Put your nose to the grindstone.
  • Success requires sacrifice, suffering and struggle.

Beliefs like these often don’t create sustainable results nor do they lead to a happy life. Furthermore, trying hard is exhausting.

When we align our positive energy first and then take inspired action with grace and ease, we can create better outcomes while feeling good, too.

A client, whose career is in the fitness industry, shared how his life is working better.

“I let go of pushing harder. I had the kind of personality to be hard on myself, more disciplined. It left me feeling out of control, especially about things I can’t do anything about.

“I had mind-numbing, self-critiquing all the time. I was looking for approval.

“Now I see how when I’m softer and centered, I’m in control. It’s easier to be in my own skin. People are more at ease around me because I’m more at ease with myself.

“I make choices moment-to-moment instead of worrying about the future and what others think.

“I catch myself a lot quicker instead of having long periods of anxiety. I chart my course by mentally creating my ideal scenario and letting go of the pushing.

“Week by week, this new way of living life is sinking in as I allow myself to go from efforting to grace and ease.

“I’ve reclaimed my natural power and feel myself evolving to my true potential as I achieve my goals.”

There was more joy, confidence and lightness in his voice as well.

You can tap into a zone where you won’t need to push yourself. By getting out of your own way, you can get more done with better results and even go beyond limits.

It starts by shifting from trying to relaxing into a flow of doing what you love.

Olympic athletes center and focus themselves before taking action. The winners go beyond worry and ride the wave of their event – even when changing winds seem to be against them. They’re at the right place at the right time to avoid the hazards.

You can, too.

I work with people, at any age,

or business in a BIGGER way
but don’t know how, feel stuck or would benefit from new tools or support. I help them be richly compensated doing what they love by aligning with their Soul’s goals.

TIP: Don’t Labor

September 6, 2016

Look up synonyms for labor, and you’ll find words like hard work, drudgery, struggle, toil and exhausting.

Society has trained us to believe that work, work, work, the harder we work, is the way to get ahead.

That work alone will bring you results is a flawed premise.

A man was looking for a job.

He sent out 50 resumes.

However, he told me he didn’t expect to get any replies.

Massive action – yes.

Results – zilch.

Hard work and action aren’t the keys.

Inspired action is.

Resolved for Results Mastermind Principle #4 is:

I am open to the mastermind energy leading me, and I take action by following through with my inspiration and guidance.

For success, align your energy for results FIRST and then take action.

Instead of putting your nose to the grindstone (ouch), FEEL GOOD before taking action.

Your TIP for success is FIRST to have fun and create momentum with Good Feeling Mojo, then take action.

It takes practice to build your Good Feeling Mojo muscle.

It works the opposite of weight lifting.

You build this muscle by letting go of the weight of the world – your problems, politics and pains.

What’s left is your natural state – happy, free, having fun, being fulfilled.

The more you’re aligned with You, like a magnet, the more opportunities come your way.

It’s what we call being on a magic carpet ride of success.

Try it out. Instead of laboring, enjoy life and what you do.

Not only will you receive far greater results, you’ll create an even better life that’s worth living.
